Super helpful, thank you. I just ordered some Raed pulleys and 100m of Marathon, after messing around with... less ideal setups in the park for a while. Love the videos 😸
I have a question about my setup, as it is quite different. I set up my 1-inch 30m line yesterday with a weblock and shackle to my sling on the static side (the webbing doesn't have a loop at the end) On my tensioning side, I have: A sling around the tree A shackle connecting to the pulley system A weblock connected to the other end of the pulley system And a webbing connected to the weblock. My idea was that the pulley system works as a soft release and stays connected to the line while on it. The pulley system has a prussic attached to keep it tensioned. This isn't for highlining, just for park-line use. Would this be considered all good? I set it up yesterday, and it seemed sweet, it was a lot of fun. I just can't find a lot of info online if this system is safe, etc.
I live in San Diego and I wanna go highline for the first time. How would I go about that. I don't know any highliner's or slackliner's I just bought a couple lines because ever since I seen Dean Potter do it I wanted to also, keep the dream alive.
The easiest way is to join “Slackchat” on Facebook and post on there. I’m pretty sure there is another FB group called “San Diego Slackliners” or something along those lines 😊 Great community in SD though! You shouldn’t have issues
