In 1968, I was stationed in Alaska, Ft. Richardson. My friend Julian Orr and I used to go to the Anchorage Airport just to watch people come and go. One night an airplane, somewhat empty, out comes Merrilee, we didn't know who she was. Her band and all the crew were on a later plane. It was so late, no cabs, no buses, just us, it was about midnight. She just needed a ride to her hotel. We did just that! She gave us tickets to her next concert, front row! How fun!!!!!!

I remember the Burgundy Express, Captain Midnight, All American Showman, etc. that used to tour Pier 70. The Golden Tides was hopping also but I don't remember Merilee Rush playing there.
