One of the things I was told before moving to Pennsylvania was that lifelong Phillies fans love the Phanatic to an insane degree. And after seeing a bunch of clips of this guy, I can understand why people love him. He’s so animated, cartoonish, and absolutely hilarious
As a Rangers fan, I acknowledge him as the king of all sports mascots!!!!!!!! This includes MLB, NFL, MLS, NHL, and NBA!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m serious!!!! I’d go to see a Phillies game just to meet the Phanatic!!!!! And this is coming from a 27-year old going on 28!!! Don’t judge me.
1978 I think, my dad was a manager at mat slap Chevrolet the Phanatic showed up for a promotion after he climbed on top of a brand new Monte Carlo and destroyed the hood and caved in the roof. He jumped onto the Malibu next to it did the same, looked at the Chevette waved at all figures it was cheap, then went straight for the Corvette and destroyed it, of course it was fiberglass took a little bit more time I was eight years old kids were all screaming in joy the managers were yelling their heads off don’t know how much they sued him for😂😂😂
I was at a Phillies v braves game as a kid and saw the Phanatic steal two gloves from Braves players and give them to two kids … 🤣… Braves players were not happy and they got their gloves back after 15-20 min or so. It was hilarious. Def not scripted either. Those kids hauled a** after they got gloves but security found em and escorted back down to give em back Edit: this was during pregame warmups
