    I used to stay at Millerton with punks I came over from Christchurch with in the mid 80's The Tramway Hotel was an old pub where hippies and punks lived, and one time I was there, there was so much weed it was swept into piles around the walls. We had a great keg party up at the bowling green too. Enjoyed exploring the area, going down the creek to the waterfall tripping on acid. Great times !

    Great video! I just love the untamed, rugged old, Wild West coast. It makes the best backdrop for all those rusty, old relics and, tumbledown old structures. It’s a magic place 😍

      I´ve seen the locals living in such conditions in Murupara and Minginui. They had no interest at all in tidying the place up. Anything not occupied there was vandalized within a short time. Well anything whether it was occupied or not was in danger of being vandalized or stolen.

    The Millerton Incline was an engineering landmark and it should be maintained better then what it is. Some of the tunnels have become blocked due to neglect. New Zealand's attitude to managing historic attractions. Let it fall into ruin. What a sad pathetic little country.

    • @TheForsakenExplorerNz
      @TheForsakenExplorerNz ปีที่แล้ว

      There left not maintained and neglected due to the fact that things build that way back in those times aren't safe and are seen as a safety Hazzard, Many Miner's risked their lives mining everyday back in those days, Many lives have been lost, That's the reason things like this are left it comes down to safety, Thank you for watching and commenting 😎👍

    There's an Olympic sized pool a couple mile up the road at Stockton old Township.
    Try a lamp house where they issued the miners their headlamps prior to starting their shift The lamps were Carbide.
