That Parappa stage is the definition of chaotic.
I like how some of the invasions have the natives fight back, like in twisted metal where the racers destroy the invaders
and they have the locoroco defeat the metal gear solid ray

I like how when the ape robot thing appears in invasion it looks around, thinks “doesn’t look alive enough” and then proceeds to terraform

Ngl, this is one of the most unique ideas I've seen done in a fighting game. Seeing all the different takeovers during a match is just so entertaining. Especially if it's two games you wouldn't expect like LocoRoco & Metal Gear.
Let me try with the stages of the original Super Smash Bros except Mushroom Kingdom:
Peach's Castle: Koopas and Goombas start running away from a Team Rocket van trying to catch them. As the van is about to leave after catching the Koopas and Goombas, Bowser appears and grabs and throws the van, causing it to drop the pokeballs and freeing the Koopas & Goombas. The Rocket grunt then challenges Bowser to a battle and sends out a Nidoking while Bowser does a Mario style boss battle: shoots fire balls and when hit, retracts into his shell and spins.
Kongo Jungle: King K. Rool appears, but it turns out it was just King Dedede, who then calls Waddle Dees and Bronto Burts to come over and take the bananas. Funky Kong and Diddy Kong in airplanes start shooting down on the Waddle Dees and Bronto Burts, taking back the stolen bananas.
Hyrule Castle: The Flying Krock appears and King K Rool and other Kremlins appear and loot the castle. Ganon appears and takes down the Flying Krock.
Planet Zebes: Kamek appears and casts a spell, making a Gargantua Blargg appear. Kraid then appears and battles the Blargg.
Super Happy Tree: Kotage and Koume appear, setting the stage on fire and Ice. Kamek then appears, and the witches fuse into Twinrova, engaging into a magic battle.
Dreamland: Bowser's airships starts appearing, shooting bullet bills into the stage. King Dedede, riding on Dyna Blade, take down the airships.
Sector-Z: Ridley appears and starts attacking the Great Fox, causing the Star Fox crew except for Fox himself to get on the arwings and take him down.
Saffron City: Moltres appears, flying away from the Star Wolf crew. After flying 3 times close the the stage, Moltres fights back the Star Wolf crew along with Zapdos and Articuno.
The fact they weren't allowed to release the Gravity Rush x Journey stage was a crime against humanity

The fact that they weren't allowed to finish and release that entire dlc pack was a crime against humanity. It would've helped the game big time.
I like the reference of how Qwark kills the hydra since he does the same movements as kratos
This game really has so much heart in it. Even now I'm finding new details in the backgrounds
Man I wish there was a new All-Stars game, I love how the stages get combined, I'd love to see something like a level from The Last of Us with Shadow of The Colossus or something.
Unfortunately these Smash Bros type games die out fast nowadays.
I had in mind a SOCOM stage mixed with The Last of Us
The difference between this and the other Smash clones is this game had actual vision behind it. SuperBot had so much planned for this game only for Sony to cut ties with them almost immediately and they had no support. We were gonna have Crash, Spyro, Cloud, Lara, and Dart in the game with more stages but couldnt because Sony never chimmed in to negotiate for the licenses

I fucking love the Ape Escape transitions. There's something hilarious about Satan from Resistance standing side by side with a Pipo Monkey.
It makes me laugh that the Goliath tried to destroy the ISA ships in Helghan
you're just fighting in the cute little animated locoroco world, then all of a sudden freaking metal gear ray breaks through reality and rules of nature starts playing
20:51 Holy crap, i didn't know the plasma bolts that the ships could fire were THAT powerful. I guess it just shows how powerful they are, seeing as they can survive multiple of them before their shields deplete and they're destroyed.
So what did we learn from this Game?
-The Lord of Hell can be killed by some random lemmings with Spears.
-Captain Quack is so THICC, even the Giant Snake Dragon can't hold him.
-Pov: You want to serve your Empire, until you get attacked by a giant Monkey Bot.
-Doctor Neferarious couldn't even conquer a small piece of San Francisco.
-The Duck Kick Punch Rap Combo is the strongest weapon in the Universe.
-If there is a invincible Wall in Metal Gear, you you know what's behind.
-The Fox Lady is so blind, she thinks you hide, even thought they are in her sights(is she even a fox? she Looks more Like Coyote).
-The White ape for destroying His Portal... because it was clearly Not His fault, when Teleported a giant Monster right Into His Base.
-Kids, Always Remember... don't ever, EVER let you grandma stay right in a Golf field, or else he might delivered rockets Just Like in Vietnam.
-the Buzz and the Create Selection are greatest Nemesis, even Kratos and Zeus Looks Like a small fly compared to them.
-Isaac thought By getting hit by those Air Racers, he could get send Back to Space. He calculated for it to Happen.
-If a Graveyeard was not enough, how about a endless world of White emptiness?

I really wish some of the stages did a little bit more in their transitions.
Like wipeout's invasion on the heavenly sword stage, I would like to see one of the wipeout items accidentally get blasted to the stage with the players. Or the racers firing more items at each other like how they did when they started invading heavenly sword by crashing into the mountain.
I’m genuinely surprised by how little people talk about the Resistance: fall of man games here, one of my favourite game series to date with the third being the best one by far and being a really good game. Kinda sad to see them become forgotten gems

@@capelli6244 agreed, but not a surprise. Resistance 3 was probably the best visually and story wise, as a post apocalyptic kind of redemption, commitment hero story arc. However it felt rushed and like while through all the games there was an amazing idea with vast potential, it was never fully realised and faltered because of it

My favourite stages are:
-The two DLC stages (Fearless and Graveyard)
-Paris (because it is a mashup of two of my fav franchises)
-Metropolis (it's funny seeing Qwark eaten by a Hydra)
Glad to see another littlebigplanet enjoyer
Mine are: Invasion, Paris for nostalgia, Metropolis also for nostalgia, Black Rock Stadium for memories of Haven City

Also not to vex you or anything but, a few animations/details are missing such as:
Hades; He can attack the patapons on his right side as well.
On Metropolis; the hydra heads occasionally attack the hovercrafts while the middle head successfully catching one then swallowing it. (sometimes the animations can repeat)
With Sandover Village; sometimes a turtle icon appears on the power gauge. (specifically when it's pass the critical stripe)
Dojo; While the Mauler has already been shown destroying parts of the city (i.e the flea market sign) Occasionally, the Mauler can fire at the Chunky Burger Sign as well.
San Francisco; In the second phase of the stage sometimes you can see a random chimera trooper trapped in of the Hypersonic-Brainwave-Scrambler's "bubbles" just floating by.
Black Rock Stadium; In the middle of battle sometimes the Talon (Helicopter) can appear carrying THE Sweet Tooth truck with Dollface on it, carrying a rocket launcher when facing the Krimzon Guard Hellcats.
And Finally Graveyard; Sometimes if a zombie manages to escape their coffin, they can get stuck on the fences. (next to the "gargoyle" anyway)
But aside from that I'm thankful for this compilation. (Really I am!)
In the second phase of the Dojo stage, the Chunky Burger sign can occasionally be shot by a missile

I don't know if you know this, but while Chop Chop Master Onion can finish off the Mauler with a punch and kick, he also finishes it off with a chop. Probably a minor thing to point out, so idk

Qwark's moves to kill the Hydra are identical to Kratos's and at Black Rock Stadium the lava changes to Jak II's dark eco.

I remember how 18:53 used to scare the shit out of my cousin. He would refuse to do this stage every time it showed up.

Eyyyy! Ya did the thing i asked if you could do! Thanks! To this day I ADORE this concept and think it's the best part of the game! I remember when this game first came out, i came up with a bunch of ideas for Smash stages like this! God those were the days.

I made them when Smash 4 was brand new, so no Splatoon, Banjo, etc. I had a Sonic x Balloon Fight idea, that starts at Sky Sanctuary, only for the Death Egg Robot to swipe the Master Emerald and plummet the stage into a Balloon Fight level. Then there was a Find Mii x EarthBound level set in a throne room that gets attacked by Porky and the Pigmask, and a Fire Emblem x F-Zero stage that basically ripped off PSAS' Fearless level. I even made some stages based purely off series with no playable fighter like Panel de Pon x Steel Diver and Trace Memory x Hotel Dusk. Honestly they are one of my fondest childhood memories.
@@jacobs.9661 Tbh those sound like incredibly cool ideas. I like whenever art styles or different cultures are mixed together to create cool stages. I’m not exactly sure how music would work though. I guess two randomized songs for both series would transition into one another.
The stages are the one thing from PSAS that I would kill to see in Smash.
I bet the player making the LittleBigPlanet level was getting pissed that Buzz was ruining his fun in making the level.

Is no one gonna talk about how the Popit just basically murders Buzz? It literally deletes him
Which is a bit strange since this stage portrays the Popit as it’s own thing, which Isn’t true
Could just be the stand in for a player, since the dreamscape is usually where players create levels.
This is why I love PSASBR
My favorite one has gotta be the Killzone x Ape Escape one, just really funny. Padapon x God Of War a close second.
The most weirdest thing to me is parrapa doesn't crossover with any maps. Sure nothing really can make a crossover in a map, but imagine noodles in a metal gear map.

Its interesting how they use Bioshock Infinite instead of actual Rapture, maybe Booker and Elizabeth should have been the character instead, I could see them being a double team character where Elizabeth uses her tears and Booker uses his guns and powers.

I love this game they should have a sequels and make it better with more characters definitely replace dmc dante with devil may cry 5 dante and replace cole with the new protagonist or just keep them all and just add more characters and new awesome stages

When I was a kid I had the idea for a Gran Turismo x Modnation Racers stage. The fighting stage would be on a stretch of tarmac on one of GT’s exclusive tracks (maybe High Speed Ring or something,) and the pre-crossover hazard would be dodging regular cars zooming through the stage as they run laps around the circuit, which you could see coming and plan to dodge or shove another player into (kinda like the Fearless stage Wipeout racers.)
But then halfway through the match, one of those green portals from Modnation would open up and a bunch of those racers would pour out. Then each lap you’d have to dodge both the GT racers and the Modnation ones, who would be using weapons and abilities you’d also have to dodge.
Besides that, I also kinda wanted Aveline de Grandpre from Assassin’s Creed Liberation (originally a PS Vita exclusive game) to be an added character, but I never decided on a rival.

I've come to heavily prefer PSASBR to Smash Bros now (Smash ain't bad, it's just that I've been overexposed to it's sumo-style KO system and I haven't seen many others try anything different, the only ones that come to mind is this game and Digimon Rumble Arena 2), and a huge part of it is the stage mashups. Smash only really had the Ice Climber stage from Brawl (The fish from Balloon Fight shows up). I've had a hard time trying to stop thinking of weird, random connections that could happen in scene transitions like we got in PSASBR for a hypothetical sequel.
- Like Metal Gear mixed with Ape Escape in some way (Both 3rd entries crossed over with each other, so probably Kei and Yumi using the flying turtle and the red Pipobot to trash the Shagohod and the Pipo version of Snake and the regular version of Ocelot shoot each other)
- Or mixing Toro: Let's Go To School with Ape Escape Academy (both school themed and on the PSP)
- Or Twisted Metal and Crash Tag Team Racing (demolition derbies, machine guns, power ups, and lots of screaming)
- Or Uncharted and Until Dawn (The icy Tibetan caves of Uncharted 2 is where you run into the near unkillable supernatural things, Until Dawn has wendigos trying to kill everyone on an ice mountain, and people seem to think Mike and Sam look like Nate and Alena)
- Or Raiden goes to Rapture to save the Little Sisters (How does both Bioshock and MGS2 have underwater escort missions?)
- Or Lammy VS Pudding in a guitar battle for no apparent reason (Parappa and Space Channel 5 are very weird games with basically the same Simon Says gameplay style)
Also, it's a crime that not everyone got a stage, especially Sony's official mascot Toro not getting one.
I enioyed this game alot when i came out. Just felt like it fell flat too quick and hadd little to offer
It would be cool if smash did this one thing referencing all stars.
Music and stage mashups.
Just imagine mario music getting mashed up with metroid, or legend of zelda mashup with kirby.
Then imagine the stage transitions, Mario and Metroid: Let's say your playing on the Mushroom kingdom U stage, you know how there's water that will appear sometimes on the stage. Imagine it turns into lava and kraid appear from the lava and attacks the stage.
I would like to see star fox get invaded by Galaga.
did you know that the fatal fury music called Pasta in smash ultimate almost sounds like route 10 from pokemon? (Or reverse) I can imagine a transition mashup on Terry's stage to pokemon stadium 1 or 2

Here's one I thought up for Green Hill Zone: After half of the match goes by the stage's main fighting space + the spiral in the background will fly upward revealing that the ufo from Super Mario Galaxy made it go upward and then the main hazard shows up that being Megahammer. It will slam its hammers down on the left and right sides of the stage dealing damage to fighters, It will fire a banzai bill at the middle not only dealing damage to fighters but also breaking the middle of the stage for temporarily. The mash-up ends when Tails, Knuckles, and Silver take down Megahammer.
Trivia:
Despite the Megahammer being piloted by Bowser Jr, the Megahammer here is on autopilot due to Bowser Jr being a playable fighter.
A lot of stuff from the level Bowser Jr's Fearsome Fleet appears in the background in the mash-up even to some of the enemies from the level chasing the background characters.
You know what since im generous today i've got another one, this time for the Halberd: When after half the match has pasted the stage's main platform will stop and the camera will zoom out a bit and the Death Egg and the Final Fortress and some of the Egg Fleet will be seen from the background and then Eggman, within the Egg Dragoon will make his presense known by firing giant drill bits at the Halberd and at the side of the main platform and fires directly at the mini platform, causing it to be longer and the mini platform will no longer be in the stage while also dealing damage to fighters that were near or on the mini platform. The Egg Dragoon will fire a volley of bullets at the stage at targeted spots dealing damage to any fighter that gets hit, it will fire an ice blast at the middle, freezing and dealing damage to fighters. After a bit the Egg Dragoon is shot down by the combo cannon and eggman is forced to retreat.
Trivia:
Egg robos can be seen sometimes in the background attacking the Halberd

I was thinking about green hill zone too but mashed up with Bayonetta clock tower stage. I can imagine the sky becoming dark then the clock tower falls in the middle of stage and breaks through green hill zone causing everything to fall like how it does on her stage but in a never ending loop.

The Beginning
-------------------------------
At the beginning of the stage it will be just like the normal dojo from Tekken where you can break the walls and the ceilings.
Transition
-------------------------------
After a while behind the stage where heihachi is sitting, one of the racers crash into the dojo. Then the back wall of the dojo will fall over backwards revealing a giant ship from the hangar games stage. (But the background will look a little cloudy like how it does in track for fast rmx) And then through the stage a racetrack forms, Making it a platform. Rather if you are a hater or a defender on this game, one of the elements that this game has going for is the stage transitions.
They are entertaining to watch, but I wish there was a mode where you can turn off the transitions.
I do have nostalgia for this game when it comes to the stage transitions and music, but I won’t called it a great game. Now, that doesn’t mean I’m a hater, I just wish we could get a sequel or at least a different game with better potential.

Does anyone else just love when E rated games crossover with M rated ones? I don't know why but for me personally that shit is so fun to watch. I love seeing the gritty, realistic worlds reacting to the more colorful and cartoony ones and vice versa. Like seeing Specter summon a giant spider demon from Resistance 3, or the giant robot from Killzone in Parappa is so wild lmao.
That said, not to compare games, but I just have to say that imo this is what Smash is severely lacking. They may be widely regarded as better games overall, but this game takes the cake in how much it actually capitalizes on having all of these video game franchises in one game. Like this is what stage hazards should be in Smash. It's one thing seeing characters interact, but seeing their actual worlds clash is something else. Imagine seeing Metal Gear invading the mushroom kingdom with toads running around or Endermen and zombies crashing Dracula's castle. It just gets so boring after a while when all it ever is is character model meets character model on a stage model. Pretty much all the interaction is left in the reveal trailers. Like I really love this, and I don't even have this game.

The one in the BioShock stage is Dollface, which is from Twisted Metal (2012) and the another one in the LocoRoco stage is from the Metal Gear series.
