Thanks for watching! Another couple of things to consider before moving your air conditioner: 1. It can be costly since it is basically re-installing the unit, so maybe it doesn't make much sense to move an old a/c unit sometimes it makes sense to wait until you replace your air conditioner to move the location. 2. If you are going to need to move your air conditioner due to landscaping work or construction...sometimes it is a good idea to time that work with a slower season for an HVAC company. If you do it in the middle of the summer, you may not get the exact timing you want to re-connect your air conditioner unit. I hope this is helpful!

I wish the person who built my house had considered putting the thing in a sensible location. A driveway should be right where it is. I can't stand when people build stuff in nonsensical ways.

Great video. Got a question. We have a cracked concrete under the ac unit and needs a replacement. It is removable concrete. If you have two people lifting the ac unit up and one person changing the concrete do you still need to pump down and cutting wires and other stuff that is connected?

@@jwelihinda I would not recommend this. No two guys can hold the air conditioner up for as long as it takes to re-do the concrete. Contact a small family owner HVAC company, and ask them for a quote to properly move it temporarily and to re-install it. It will most likely cost a few hundred dollars.

I did that when I had my backyard concrete replaced with stamped concrete and what we did was get an engine lift/cherry picker and put a couple straps to hold the AC unit about 8” off the ground while they did their concrete work and let the concrete dry. Worked like a charm

Customer wants me too move there unit about 10 feet too the right, but don’t want me too go into the wall, which would mean I’d have too run a much longer electrical whip too the unit, also extend the thermostat wire and refrigerant lines. So not the most ideal as far as how things are usually done, but it’s possible. My main concern is extending Thermostat wire,I don’t want too wire nut things, what do you think????

Wish my dad had watched this before moving the dwelling from the old lot and onto another city lot….pisses me off cuz it’s been 4 years trying to either replace or repair the carrier ac for my place….he was talking about walking off the hallway in this tiny place and putting a huge window ac in the wall…so cutting another damned hole in it! And then using the furnace fan to circulate it through the house…not gonna happen! It really burns my hide when yet another hvac contractor does the no show! All because the place looks like hell now after my youngest sister lives in it for 8 years and tore it apart and then finally moved out when it got bad enough….she wouldn’t pay any rent or utilities and thought she was gonna stick me with her utilities also! I told the gas company to shut it off when they called me and wanted $1000 to keep the gas on! 🤣 funny! She’s got no kids….i have two and am a single parent! I paid rent while waiting for her to move out of my property that my parents moved her into while I was away! Now I’m having to play hell to get it back into shape to live in and the ac has been a huge throne in my side! The gas company even made me wait in the 110 weather so the hvac tech could do the job he told me needed done the previous summer and when I scheduled it, 8 am….i was told I had to be home or else no work is done and I’d be charged $150 anyway! So I suffered through the 110 degree day only to be told at 4:45 pm…that they weren’t ever going to do work for me and that I wasn’t worth their time and resources! Humiliating me after making me wait in the heat for that long! All the stupid machine needs is to be brazed properly because it was just slapped onto the dwelling again so badly that the hvac guys who have seen it laugh and assume I did it! I’m a girl! For gods sake! I have gotten it working again but someone was in the process of effing it up again but apparently didn’t finish the eff up…they had been taking the Schrader valve out and left the little wrench they come with and left the cap sitting…wtf is wrong with people!? Why would anyone want to do something like that to someone’s home? It makes zero sense and I’m sick of being punished for bs that’s not been caused by my carelessness! He didn’t listen to me about having to take up the toilet and tub either when it was moved and I ended up having to replace those as well! I didn’t want to move it to a new lot because my old lot already had a new water main and the alley was already paved…new phone box and everything…..he does a trade with this con man for the lots because my sister pissed the neighbors off so badly they made life impossible for her and my parents….so dad swaps the lot with a new water main and paved alley for one that’s got no phone box and a busted water main I also had to fix and a dirt alley that’s eroding ….guess who has to pay for all this bs! Not my entitled brat of a sister.! Rant over! 😂 😡

So why would most hvac contractors install the outside unit on the sunniest side of the home if it’s better for it to be shaded? I’ve even seen where they’ll remove an old unit and instead of installing the new one in its place , they’ll move it to the hottest side of the house instead….is this just to get the unit to not last as long? Or to cause it to run harder and less efficient? Seems to be the agenda with hvac guys anymore

Why don’t air condition units outside have a canopy that keeps water from getting inside them I’m not seeing a cover but just a canopy maybe 2 feet above the air condition unit I would assume all that water from the rain would cause parts to rust just curious
