Scrap into Treasure.... Bank! Recycle equals Green! The Best Color....
👊👊👍👍
I don't go to the yard for less than $4-500. I have 2 loads of prepared steel now. I just got back from selling non-ferrous, $600 ! And I work a fulltime job (industrial maintenance) so all my scrap is given to me for free!
Awesome, I wish all my scrap was free. lol
Can't wait to see the totals for this load. I've been holding my scrap all winter. Waiting for good fall prices.
Thanks, Copper just dropped. I don't like holding it.
You know a lot of your no. 2 Copperbars, breakers and every electric switch has silver or silver plating ? Don´t know if somebody already mentioned.
Thanks, I do know that and have been saving up breakers to make a silver recovery video.
It's 9.50 at night .... proceeds to whip out the grinder 😂😂
In my shop I can work all night. lol
Watching you from overseas in France. You’re hell of a worker and from my point of view kind of a genius. Have a good one.
Thanks. 👍
Dang ! I want to take stuff apart !
👍
Dr Derek at work looking after his patients 😄. That was some good micro-scrapping, considering it's not your preference. 👍
Thanks 😂😂😂
I’m very impressed with your attention to detail, in conjunction with your reclamation process. Very impressed!
Thank you!
I like your video you brake down ever thing and weight it you do a better job then our scap videos i watch great video and great job
Thanks Robert 👊
'Our next patient on the operating table" LOL
😂😂😂
Last guy looks shred Steel had never been so high. It's like 10 or $12 per hundred pound. Normally it's about half to two-thirds that much. I realize you look for the more precious metals but right now still is the quickest mover with the most pay.
Thanks for the info
those protection devices appear to be very large MOVs (metal oxide varistors) to protect against power line surges. Kinda like the ones in power strips/surge suppressors but whole building/house size instead.
Thanks for sharing
@@ProjectShopFl I would never scrap that and other valuable items without testing if it's still in good working condition. I understand it can be very tedious and time consuming to test, when it could easily be scraped fast, but some items are very expensive even when sold second hand worth much more than scrap metal.
If you
Wentworth Air tools would it work better for you ? I know the initial cost of gearing up to air might be prohibitive, but it would keep your drill from overheating.
I have all the air tools already. lol
I love your shop set up and this type of content with a target to hit. Looking forward to part 2 mate (uk subscriber).
Thanks 👊
Thats a pretty cool looming hatchet you got there!
Thanks
Hey I also heard a guy talking today in subway how he was bypassing scrap yards and sending containers of scrap overseas. If interested you may want to look into that, they pay the shipping cost and all the scrap you go through man it could literally change your life I believe. Your so close a major ocean port man it could really work out for ya
Be quiet you commie.
Thanks for the suggestion
Don't EVER send scrap overseas!
@@nznsi Why? Just curious.
It would be worse than defeating the purpose of recycling. Carbon footprint and we need it to use here.
You know by looking at the video I also noticed that you actually separate out your steel and apparently the yard you sell it to buys it independently from one type to another. The yard here in Central Florida do not discern against any type of Steel being better than the other it's all considered shred Steel going to a melt pile. So you literally just drive across the scale, weigh your trailer, dump everything and then come back to the scale. No fuss no muss because it's all just Steel.
They are ripping people off there are many grades of steel and when dealing with tonnage it makes a big difference
Now they do buy different types of stainless independently from irony Shred, or melt steel as most people call it. And I think if you had like plate or some kind of grade A or top-grade prepared steel they would give you a little different money but you have to take it to a different part of the yard.
Well done Project Shop FL and a even better setting a goal of $2500.00 hope you get it thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching! 👊
You'll get to your goal as soon as you fire up the copper King!
😂😂😂👊
Those big hub things with the insulation. Would it be helpful to use a heat gun prior to cutting the rubber insulation off? Very interesting
It's actually soft already just have to make the cuts in the easiest way possible
Look at the Generac 25kW hiding back there
I have ben scrapping out way bigger one 75-100 kw stay tuned for those videos.
I get 1.68$ a pound for clean cu/al coils. That’s the highest I’ve ever seen it and that’s what I got 2 days ago. I heard copper went down 0.30$ in the last week on the market so I think it’s about to drop sharply at the yard
It dropped .20 real quick in Miami last week. I was 1 day late and lost .15 on 1200 lbs of Bare Bright 😭
@@ProjectShopFl yeah trading price on copper dropped .30 cents last week
You should try using one of the dewalt portable bandsaws. Would be a lot faster than the recip saw.
Thanks for the suggestion
@@ProjectShopFl It's a game changer if haven't used one before. It cuts clean and fast. If you have, then I'm sure you know.
Ill be making a scrap run myself very soon here
Nice hope it pays well.
You got Steve working on your box trailer huh.
If not did you ever get it fixed
That was not my box trailer it was my land lords and he needed it back for a while.
I like your approach, what's inside this?... let's use the saw. Mine would be more like let's google it.
😂😂😂
I don't know what you guys are getting for scrap steel in Florida but I just turned in 1600 lb of steel at 135 a ton and got $108 total waste of time in my opinion if I would have turned in aluminum cans at sixteen hundred pounds I would have gotten $1481 yeah I know the effort is a lot more to get aluminum cans or extruded aluminum or cast aluminum doesn't matter the effort that I had to go through to get all the steel is not worth it kind of curious what y'all are getting for scrap steel in Florida
Scrap steel .10 lb for #1 and .8 lb for sheet steel. I don't like messing with the steel either.
You got a great system.
Thanks
Micro scrapping is tedious but if you have the time why not.
👍 Very tedious. lol
Big stuff is easy money Microscrapping is tedious and a bit timeconsuming but it also makes money for sure
Micro scrapping feels good, helps save the earth resources from ending in a landfill. One mans micro scrap is another mans hobby.
If you just keep moving at a steady pace it not too bad.
Aluminum Busbar goes as 6061 SPC..
Thanks for the info
Great video bro where did ur employee Rick go?? Haven't seen him in a few vids
Steave? lol He was just here today. lol
@@ProjectShopFl yes steave lol
Where is your helper dude?
This is only part time so he has other things he gets in to
Αδελφέ σκληρή δουλειά!!!
ΕΛΛΆΔΑ!!!
OK 👍
top scrapper
👊 Thanks
How do you determine how much to offer the electrical contractor?
I call my buyer so I know what I am getting that day then call the local yards and match or bear the local price.
Do you have any tips for finding the price of the day for a particular metal?
Call local yards.
great video once again
Thanks
Nice payout, I would invest in some lung protection though.
Thanks for thew suggestion
Great video, new sub here
Thanks, Hope you are enjoying the channel. 👊
I’m
Not sure why but I’m bringing in prepared steel and they are giving me “torch iron” 0.07 a pound seems wrong . Is there a difference between torch iron and prepared steel!?
Sounds fishy to me. I think it has to be under 4' and a certain thickness to be #1 prepared.
@@ProjectShopFl maybe that’s why because it was kinda long but it was rails from a massive fork lift or something
69.420 lbs. Nice
👊
69.42 so close i still loled
👍👍👍
Do you have a cheap geiger counter ?..... get one.... if you are going to be taking unknown stuff apart, it could save your life...
Thanks for the suggestion
Where’s Steve ??
He was just here. you will see him soon. 👍
Where do you get this scrap from?
Electrical contractors.
Where is your helper?
Working
69.420 lol couldn’t do that again if you tried
😂😂😂
Took 42lbs copper in yesterday got $12 i can't see how anyone makes money doing this
You got ripped off! copper is over $3 per LB. Should have gotten around $120 +
@@ProjectShopFl 27c here in Tampa
The only kind of copper that's that cheap is CBM, like steel bx. What did you sell?
@@alexmurphy9025 copper wire out of a house that was demolished and stripped the plastic off and took it into the scramp metal place
👍👍🙂🇨🇦
👊👍
Respiratory issues are no joke, wear a dust mask at least dude!!
Thanks for the suggestion
You used to process scrap with the concept of touching it once, now with the 'lets make $2500 idea you're double and triple handling it. Weight it, strip it eight it stack it etc. No profit in that or losing is more like the process. Go back to striping and processing and showing how much you can make. Also show and tell of your toys or whats wrong with them e.g. the crane and battery on the old trailer.
He is just maximizing his profit and trying to reach a goal, while taking us with him. Thats hard work. And he has to edit. Give him a break!
Thanks for the suggestion, I knew going in It would be more work keeping track but I liked seeing how much I needed to make and trying to make the goal. It's also for the viewer.
I wish i work for you 😊
😂😂😂
Thanks!
Getting closer with the camera does not mean the focus gets better. Makes it blurry as fuck.. please chill with the super up-close shots.
I feel like I'm sitting on a DVD menu screen with this repeating loop mellow-drome cheap action movie music.
Thanks for the feed back
would love one of these videos to just get to the work. instead of 12 long af minutes of you talking about it.
Still can skip the bits you don't want to watch
Thanks for the feed back
Can you recycle the wire insulation?
Some say you can but I haven't found any one in south fl.
I could never be a garbage picker.....
Well good for you 🤡, Now where in the video did you see someone picking garbage? Got a time stamp? All I saw was someone recycling and probably doing more to save the earth than you ever will.
Good job! Sometimes I also disassemble something, but not in such quantities) I invite you to my channel!
Ok, good luck with the channel I will take a look
