      Misogynists (and other forms of bigots) don't display their prejudice overtly anymore because they know it is wrong. So instead, they demonstrate mental gymnastic and justify their misogyny subconsciously and lie to themselves that their criticisms and displeasure are logical, when in fact, they are not. Brie has always been a fantastic actor. It's not her fault the writings for Captain Marvel has been... lacking.

      @RLebeauXXXIII Except some people do if they only saw her in just blockbuster movies. She does better independently wise and rarely people gave her credit for that (except for Room but still, some people will find excuses to bashed her acting in that movie when it's objectively a good acting from her, I mean she won an Oscar so 🤷)

    This was such a captivating interview. I learned so much about the process of their craft - they were both so insightful and offered new insights about the film/TV making process. It's interesting how they highlighted that acting is one part the thing you do as a character in front of a camera and one part being able to talk about what you did later to promote, sell, generate interest. I think both of them being naturally shy and introverted made them more comfortable around each other, and made me feel for them in the times they've had to do that second part of an actor's job. I watched because I already loved loved loved both of them; I leave loving both of them even more. Thank you to Variety for bringing these two together.

      True. The 3 you named are without a doubt Brie's best projects. Yet I really like her as Carol Danvers. Surely it's not high class acting material but still Brie did a really good job in both the movies. Brie Larson is one of the finest and best actresses. I don't care about the hate she is getting for the role of Captain Marvel. She performed great in this role. And also in Lessons in Chemistry, she was fantastic. Couldn't imagine anyone else for these roles. Biggest fan of her❤.

    • @SavedByGrace_CitizenEmperorユウ
      @SavedByGrace_CitizenEmperorユウ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Definitely. Brie did what she was told to do for her Marvel role. Guys can play tough super cool characters. But when a woman does the same, she gets judged differently. Brie did a very good job playing Carol Danvers. Of course it's not Oscar worthy acting but still both movies were fun and I enjoyed them.
      And while it doesn't really matter how much training or preparation an actor does for a movie role, because taste is taste, Brie trained hard for Captain Marvel, she invested 9 month as she had done for her big role in "Room".
      I think it's easy to get negative feelings toward media people you don't know much (or anything) about. Brie gave her diversity speech, had some "bad" or "unfortunate" interview situations where her humour was misjudged and bam a certain amount of people felt they needed to attack Brie for even breathing. Fortunately, Brie is still doing well in her career and with "Lessons in Chemistry" she has proven that she still has "it" many years after her big award wins. 😊🎉❤

    • @Angel_Auraa
      @Angel_Auraa 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Honestly going into superhero movies period isn't usually a popular move for critics or audiences sometimes. Like Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney tried it recently and also got flack for it. I do think it can be career suicide at times.
      Sometimes sticking to dramas or romance or comedy or sci fi is better than tying yourself to a superhero saga.

    • @SavedByGrace_CitizenEmperorユウ
      @SavedByGrace_CitizenEmperorユウ 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@Angel_Auraa Brie said that she auditioned for tons of roles she didn't get. She also auditioned for different super hero roles but when Marvel got interested in her playing Carol Danvers, she was very hesitant and didn't say "yes" right away. There was some convincing by her "team" and Samuel L. Jackson (with whom she shot "Kong: Skull Island" just a short time before she was announced as Captain Marvel, also interestingly enough, Tom Hiddleton also was there), so Brie decided to take this next step. For Brie, it meant to get in good physical shape for the first time ever in her life probably. It meant to expose herself to the world. To become seen and a well-known name. Because of her shyness, Brie almost said no. But it paid off. Not only money wise. With the million dollars from Marvel, Brie could afford to take on different small projects like directing, playing a supporting role, doing some producer work or even youtube during the pandemic.
      I've watched Brie's entire filmography last year and I must say that this girl has made weird choices. I'm certain that she's very picky and she could have had it easier after her tramendous success with "Room". She could have just played similar dramatic roles and be known as the "drama" actress. But for some weird reasons, Brie wanted to do things her way and she said at some point that she doesn't like doing the same thing again and again.
      In the end, hate is a subjective thing. You can basically hate everything but that doesn't have to take away my joy in the same thing. I decided to ignore the haters like Brie does herself and enjoy whatever Brie is doing and whenever she is showing up in public. 😁🙂

      I believe it was always just a certain group of people spreading hate against Brie Larson. She has many fans and over the years, Brie improved her social skills and also she grew personally a lot. You can compare her first "Actors on Actors" interview from like 9 years ago or older interviews, she seemed a lot more introverted.
      I'm happy as well to read tons of nice comments about Brie. When I "discovered" her in early 2023, I read so many mean comments among many videos, it was hard to take. But even if Brie made a bad impression 5 years ago or so, that was 5 years ago. A lot of time has passed and Brie grew a lot into a even more beautiful and more confident woman.
      I'm extraordinary happy that Brie can be seen in interviews and at events despite not having new official film projects at the moment. 😊
