Lalo said “call an ambulance… BUT NOT FOR ME!” ETA hope you enjoy your well earned break! I caught covid and have been binging your BCS videos while I recover, I appreciate the company lol.
Something to keep in mind about Kim is that she's never objected to Jimmy's antics on the basis of morality. Her objections have always centered around the consequences if something goes wrong, not whether the action itself is moral.
I think Kim's concepts of love come from the childhood trauma of having a mother who was also an irresponsible petty criminal. There's some kind of connection between "I love this person deeply" and "accept/make excuses for bad behavior" in the formative years of her psyche.
One of the only times I genuinely got goosebumps was watching this episode when it aired and seeing Lalo walk to the camera as his footsteps transform into a rolling thunder
You keep thinking Jimmy is influencing Kim. Kim likes the thrill. She never says "It's wrong." She says "What if we get caught?" She loves the game, and she wants to get even with Howard.
In some ways, she’s kinda like Walter in that sense. I’m convinced that if she stayed with Jimmy throughout Breaking Bad, her and Walter would’ve had an affair.
Yeah I haven't seen James' reactions to the rest of the series yet, but I feel like he's missed some of the nuances to Kim's character so far. There's many moments where the show clearly shows the audience that Kim secretly craves the life Jimmy wants, full of excitement and loss of control. I'm really hoping he picked up on it by the time he finished the show so it didn't come as a complete surprise!
@@EspritlumiereYeah, I've heard Kim put on a paralell with Skyler White. Skyler's complicity was moreorless forced, whereas Kim Wexler is turned on by it. To me, Kim is a heck of a lot less sympathetic than Skyler.
Will say again; Lalo / Tony Dalton feels SO natural like we’ve been watching him since Breaking Bad. Genuinely one of the best characters on the show, despite his limited appearance. Also If we don’t see you, enjoy your holidays man!! Hope you and your family are staying healthy and hydrated! You better stealth drop those Sunny reacts😉
You didn't put it in the TH-cam version but Kim's finger guns and Jimmy's shot of shock and fear paralleled so beautiful with what Jimmy did at the end of season 4, finger guns and Kim's look of shock and fear. This fucking show. And it's insane how we were so scared Kim would die but it's her literal breaking bad that's fucking devastating
hahah i also love kim but i think the entire point of this episode is to show that she is in fact not an exceptionally moral person herself, not because of Jimmy, but it's probably one reason why she relates to and understands him. she's not an angel lol.
It's funny how the previous episode we were terrified because we were absolutely scared for Kim's life. And now in this episode we were shitting ourselves because we were absolutely scared for Nachos life. They really wrote a terrifying character in Lalo!
This show does a great job by using our knowledge of Breaking Bad to build suspense in this show. We know Kim isn't in Breaking Bad, but we don't know how, does she die, does she leave Jimmy, is she arrested, we don't know and that's what scenes last in the last episode so tense.
The first time Lalo goes through the underground tunnel they do this really cool zoom-chase thing with the camera. One of my favorite shots in the show.
Kim always seems to me like someone who is really vulnerable to addiction. I think she's smoking more than any character on the show. She's often shown drinking. From what I remember, after her car accident, she's also shown taking pills several times. Her mother was a total alcoholic. And any time she's under stress, she buries herself in even more work. And all the way back in "Marco", the show portrayed Jimmy and Marco like two drug addicts, with Jimmy trying to get clean and getting peer pressured back into scamming. And Marco looking to have one last good trip with his friend before he dies in a dirty alley. I think Kim totally is hooked on scamming and plotting. And it's reaching the point where even Jimmy starts feeling she's overdoing it.
Yea ima call cap on Kim making sacrifices for Jimmy. She's turned on by Jimmy's lifestyle and wants in on it. She's not making the choices she's making for altruistic reasons.
The absolute frustration of having to wait for 2+ years for season 6 to finally be released is something I never want to go through again. Especially after a cliffhanger like that! Can’t wait to see you react to season 6!
The way this episode ends is truly insane. This storyline with Nacho has been quite a ride and it’s going to continue to go like this into the next season. Watching Lalo going basically Terminator on the guys who were sent to kill him was amazing to see, but of course things are going to get really intense next season. And the whole thing with Jimmy and Kim talking about doing something with Howard is defiantly interesting, especially since Jimmy isn’t sure about going through with this and how Kim seems to be fine with it. And the finger guns she gives him is what he did to her when he decided to fully become Saul Goodman at the end of Season 4. Great reaction James, I hope you’re doing well. Please take care and have a great rest of your day!
Imma be real I think about Kim the way that you think about Jimmy; at keast right now, I very much agreed with Mr.Ackerman's words about Kim which were the definition of a half measure to me, and she tried to have her cake and eat it too with Mesa Verde, and always enables Jimmy which isnt sacrifice its a toxic relationship. Plus Howard and Kim is a very personal beef
You know that escape tunnel? I feel like that might have been built by the first guy that got rejected from building the underground lab, the one that was bragging
18:50 "remember the episode in bb when he drunk?" I'm pretty sure the name of the episode was SALUD which is what he said to Nacho when he clanked glasses. Top notch writing, subtle.
17:09 - "Ooooh. Magnum P.I.!" This "Good looking car" is the Ferrari 308. It was made famous by the TV Show "Magnum P.I." I noticed that you missed the reference because you were too young to have ever seen it. You should definitely check out some of the episodes online. It was the ultimate "guy show" of the 1980s.
I won't shed any context whatsoever but there's been so many times with his watch of BCS where my reaction is just "heh heh... you have no idea". Like in breaking bad when Lalo is name dropped and he just goes "whoever that guy is... he's a problem"
You missed where he gave the Don the car and he says "Oooh, Magnum P.I.!".. that's the car Magnum P.I. used in the Tom Selleck 80s series. It was pretty iconic at the time.
Man, if I was in Jimmy's shoes I would have quit that line of work and been a house husband. With such a fucking cool and gorgeous, badass wife and if she continued to be a successful lawyer?! I would happily be a house husband and keep the house maintained for her~
Would it surprise anyone to know that Rhea Seehorn is 52 years old? That means she was almost 50 when they were filming season 6. I was SHOCKED when i read this cause i feel like she looks like shes in her mid 30's.
Tbh I’m not saying that this episode is more violent than breaking Bad but in some ways it feels a lot more intense due to the different tones the lawyer and cartel plotlines which is truly a testament to the phenomenal writing of the series.
They're both terrifying in different ways imo. Tuco has a history of randomly killing people cuz of his drug use making him extremely unpredictable and Lalo cuz he's intelligent and super competent physically and mentally.
Watching S5 and 6 I have never had such a 180 from loving Jimmy and Kim to despising them (I obviously still liked them, I was just very frustrated). There was a period of time whilst watching S6 that I swear I would have thrown hands with the actors lol...
Idk, I feel that Lalo is scarier than Tuco. Due to him being more calm and calculating, like Gus, whereas Tuco tends to fly off the handle more. But that's just me.
James I’d love to see you check out the chainsaw man anime, similar to BCS it has a lot of good visual storytelling and some beautifully animated shots
one interesting way this show gets reflected by the viewers, is that i think its easy to see kim as being influenced or falling from grace when you haven't been in her shoes. if you go back and watch the show from her perspective, rather than as a foil/love interest for jimmy, there's a lot of additional subtext around the casual misogyny of the men in the show towards her. not the "women hating" kind we're used to seeing on TV, but the everyday kind where they infantilise her, second-guess her agency, tell her what she wants even when she's saying the opposite. i think thats a big part of why her chemistry with jimmy is so strong, he treats her like an equal & respects her deeply, and whenever he tries to play "knight in shining armor" and make plans for the both of them, that's where the tension comes from. that's why she takes so much offense to howard telling her she quit because of jimmy. "you don't save me, i save me" kim the GOAT
words cant explain how torturous the wait for season 6 was after this lol
2 years. 2 damn years of waiting and theorizing.
And then the 2nd part of season 6.
It was soooooo worth the wait, though
2 years and a goddamn pandemic
Lalo said “call an ambulance… BUT NOT FOR ME!”

Hey, don't bad-mouth my girl Kim Sexler like that!
Fr he's kinda simpin for Kim (joking before anybody gets butt hurt)
@@jasonvoorhees310exactly. And even then, it seems like it's still just because of the drastic consequences
I believe this is absolutely true UNTIL what happened with Howard.

Lalo was scary even when he was jovial. An upset Lalo is even worse.
Mans a force of nature
The storm is coming and he's name is Lalo Salamanca.
You keep thinking Jimmy is influencing Kim. Kim likes the thrill. She never says "It's wrong." She says "What if we get caught?"

In the words of Logan Roy, James is c(u)nt-struck by Kim Se(x)ler.
In some ways, she’s kinda like Walter in that sense. I’m convinced that if she stayed with Jimmy throughout Breaking Bad, her and Walter would’ve had an affair.
Kim isn’t sacrificing anything. She wants this life
Yeah I haven't seen James' reactions to the rest of the series yet, but I feel like he's missed some of the nuances to Kim's character so far. There's many moments where the show clearly shows the audience that Kim secretly craves the life Jimmy wants, full of excitement and loss of control.

It still amazes me that they built these incredible characters around a couple of throwaway names from the early days of Breaking Bad.
You nailed it in the intro. Kim makes difficult decisions. Jimmy makes bad decisions.
We need a Lalo prequel.
They guy must have been a menace pre-BCS and quickly was put in charge after Hector collapsed.
Agreed. Dude is a menace to society in BCS and can't imagine the kind of stuff he got up to in his youth.
Lalo and the car window always cracks me up 🤣🤣🤣
Tony Dalton should've won an emmy for his performance as Lalo in this episode. Especially for the last 15 or so minutes!
You didn't put it in the TH-cam version but Kim's finger guns and Jimmy's shot of shock and fear paralleled so beautiful with what Jimmy did at the end of season 4, finger guns and Kim's look of shock and fear. "...backed up like an outhouse at Woodstock." Thanks for noticing that killer line. It's usually just a generational thing ;)
The last season will blow your mind man. I can’t wait. So happy to be a part of your BB/BCS journey.
Great intro. Love hearing your insight.

hahah i also love kim but i think the entire point of this episode is to show that she is in fact not an exceptionally moral person herself, not because of Jimmy, but it's probably one reason why she relates to and understands him. she's not an angel lol.
That final shot. The muffled gravel sounding like thunder in the back. Lalo's rage is growing. Chills bro 🔥🔥🔥

Kims laugh after saying “thats it?” Feels like a blooper that they decided to keep it just seems like such a genuine laugh

8:57 Mike was Breaking Bad's The Wolf *from Pulp Fiction*
I'm so excited to watch you see the final season of this fine show. Let's go! Thanks for your reaction.
lalo walking away at the end like a storm approaching
The best part of reactions is the reactor freaking out/getting frustrated in parts we know whats about to happen
This relationship is TOXIC asf 😂❤
I bet that camera on the side of the car shot took 20 takes!

"Better Listen To Howard" is what this show should be called. Him and Nacho are my favorite characters not named Gus or Mike.
You know that escape tunnel? I feel like that might have been built by the first guy that got rejected from building the underground lab, the one that was bragging
I, too, was scared to death for Kim's safety after the first season. All I knew is she wasn't even mentioned in BB, and it was not boding well.
Polite Lalo is gone. After this, we're getting Angry Lalo next season.
And Polite Lalo was already scary enough as it is.
Fun to watch with someone who has as big of a crush on Kim as I do lmaoooo
The story was ultimately about Kim “breaking bad” too, not just Jimmy

And Mike
@@SteveNathn Mike was always a bad person, he was just on the other side of the law
"Howard doesn't really deserve that" could be applied to this entire show honestly lol

You'd rather see a break up than watch a person get murdered? Not exactly what I would call a hot take😅
Lalo's walk felt influenced by No Country for Old Men's Anton Chigurh. Killing machines with no stop button.
