  • The Whydah Galley sank off the coast of Cape Cod, Massachusetts in April of 1717. Captained by Samuel "Black Sam" Bellamy, the Whydah is the only known pirate ship from the Golden Age of Piracy to be accurately identified and have its historically valuable artifacts recovered. The Whydah was discovered and authenticated by Barry Clifford of Maritime Explorations in 1984, and artifacts are still being recovered from the Whydah wreck to this day.
Background music: Yonder Hill and Dale (Aaron Kenny) - TH-cam Audio Library.

I agree, John. I think I read that Barry Clifford has not sold any of the artifacts that were recovered from the Whydah - they are all either in the museum or undergoing restoration.

Someone once said while pointing, “Whyda ship wreck,” and his buddy responded, “Because it took on water, of course.”

Thanks, Al. They wouldn't let me take any cobs from the museum. Otherwise, one would be on its way to the Oldies & Goodies Museum in Fulton, NY.

Sam Bellamy was of Royal lineage. Freeing Black Slaves from the Empire. Rich kids rebelling. Robin Hood was also Royalty. How else do you become an Archer and know about Castle secret passages to escape?
