- This video shows the rewarding fields of acute care physical and occupational therapies helping a patient who was bedridden for several weeks in ICU due to respiratory failure and sepsis. It captures her recovery from the initial assessment in ICU, when Phyllis could barely move, to the final outcome after her rehab stay.

What a wonderful video. I found this through the acute care APTA section listserve and will certainly show this to my colleagues as well as the PTA school where I teach! I have to say, that I shed a little tear when I saw Phyllis walk in to visit. I love it when patients come back to visit!

What this does not show or reveal is that myself and another friend (RN) who are Shaklee Business Leaders under Phyllis began giving her a Shaklee regimen the day she entered this facility. She could not eat the food they were bringing her but she could drink the Shaklee protein and the nurses ignored us as we came in three time a day to give her Shaklee supplements and protein. She was in ICU for about 90 days before they moved her to rehab. She had terrible bed sores because they kept thinking she was going to die and just didn't move her enough. She did die several months later after she lost Warren to long standing heart problems and she developed Pneumonia at one point, recovered but developed it again and would not go back to the hospital or receive any care. Died quietly in her bed. RIP Alice Coker, Shaklee Executive Coordinator

Just finishing my first OTA PTA placement, this is really encouraging and refreshing to see.
This is so great! Sharing with my Health Informatics students who will be working with PTs at a local hospital to pull data to encourage more orders for PTs in the ICU! I'm sure this will inspire them! Thank you for documenting!
My mother is going through this right now 55 years old she just woke up yesterday polyneuropathy she went in with an ammonia septic shock and ARDS she was on a ventilator for 12 days before waking up she still on the ventilator now thank you for the video

Today Phyllis is working her Shaklee business once again, helping others, as she did for me 25 years ago, to rebuild their health when they didn't believe it was possible through using the best of nutrition which is what her friends and I made sure she had while she was in Solara.
