Love the videos. I thought I’ve watched all of the Disney type docs like this and I genuinely learned new things from each one of these vids. Keep up the good work.
Fun fact about figment. He is tied to Epcot in more ways then one. His likeness in art or sculpture can be shown anywhere but it can only be sold on Disney’s EPCOT property. Once again a great video
I worked at KODAK when we had the sponsorship. It was cool because as a KODAK employee I was able to go to their "secret" lounge area in the pavilion. They had a nice rest area there with drinks and snacks. Also did not have to wait in line for the Imagination experience. Bought my wife a stuffed figment that she still has to this day. LOL
Such amazing stories!!! Can you add any more details about the secret lounge? What kind of snacks? What kind of drinks? And it's so astounding that your wife still has that Figment. It really demonstrates such a strong relationship. Thank you so much for sharing and commenting. And, of course, for watching.
@@disfarersAs I recall it was pretty much soft drinks and snacks like chips, pretzels, candy, and some Mickey and Minnie cookies. Nothing too fancy. My three daughters who were little at the time loved it as well though.
I LOVE seeing the footage of the OG Dreamfinder on the Dreamcatcher vehicle!! The destruction of that scene was such a horrible loss to the attraction! 😢
I can't help but agree. There always rumors about them redesigning the attraction again, but who's to know what it would become. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Another fantastic video! I’m a big fan of the original EPCOT Center. My family took me there in March of ‘83, which was the week Journey into Imagination opened. I loved how colorful and how many levels the attraction played on and that the attraction was kid-centric. I loved that the Disney characters weren’t apart of EPCOT, and I loved that the original attraction had a Magic Kingdom feel to it. It stood right up there with an It’s A Small World or anything in Fantasyland. You have a great voice for these videos!
The early days of Epcot really captured something great! I totally agree. I especially enjoyed the play area in the upstairs area of the Imagination Pavilion. And thanks so much for the compliments!!! And, of course, for watching more episodes!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I have some other character episodes in mind, but there's a number of episodes lined up before the next one. Thanks for commenting and watching!
That's so nice of you to say! There's more episodes on the way. One is already even done and scheduled for release in November. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I'm glad you got something out of this one. I'm away from home this week so I can't exactly tell you what book(s) I read this in. Likely, Marc Davis: In his own words. I also saw it in a documentary on TH-cam that was over an hour long. I also recall finding stuff about this while researching for Marc Davis (podcasts with him talking openly as well as websites) as well as his wife, Alice Davis. I actually put her up in this video stating that it upset him, which after knowing the story you get the idea that she was speaking guardedly about it. For brevity's sake, I kept it fairly short. If you want something more concrete, like links and stuff, let me know and I can get some of it together for you after the weekend.
I really love your presentation on these videos. Much more frriendly and personable than some. It sounds like you're having a genuinely good time with this.
Hey, thank you for the compliments. And you're spot on: I do have a genuine good time making these. It's really gratifying to research and learn so much about stuff I'm interested in and then get to share it with others...concisely.
You left out his work on the New Fantasyland in Disneyland, and designing Disneyland Paris and Indiana Jones A whole lifetime of high artistic and technological accomplishments If you’re going to belittle and criticize at least provide honest context I know it’s just for the algorithm but very disappointing
Thanks for the comment! I use the ZDM-1 mic. I'm not entirely happy with my audio quality, but it does an okay enough job that I'm not in a hurry to try out a new one. I use Premiere Pro to edit the video, images and audio files together. Are you starting a channel of your own?
I thought I had mentioned it in the episode but I may have left it out. Marc Davis put it together with the original Mine Train attraction in Disneyland in mind. Walt suggested making it into a faster coaster attraction after the success of the Matterhorn. So it was going to essentially be Big Thunder Mountain surrounding the Thunder Mesa. It would have been astounding! Thanks so much for commenting and watching. I really appreciate the feedback.

I had no idea about this! That's incredible! Thanks so much for sharing, and for the compliment and watching too. I always like hearing your feedback.

Just please, please, please tell me that any Figment film will not have anything to do with Seth Rogan. Please.
He's absolutely involved. It's also being written by the same writers of the detective Pikachu movie.

Thanks for this. Another informative video. So what's your source about the conflict between Tony Baxter and Marc Davis?

Anyone think this episode was too hard on Tony Baxter?
No, it was fair.
I would love for Tony Baxter himself to stumble across this video and leave his side of the story here.
Yes it was

Great video quick question what type of microphone do you use and what software do use edit the audio?

@@disfarers yeah i just started a channel and a i bought a hyperx quadcast i use audacity’s to edit the audio but im not satisfied with it.
I had to look up pros and cons for the hyperx and audacity. Also, the HyperX quadcast sounds great. How many tracks of audio does audacity allow?
@@disfarers i dont think there’s a limit ive done up to 10 and its yet to tell me anything
But the old Marc Davis attraction doesn’t look as fun as Big Thunder that replaced it.

Hey. If I wanted to sponsor a video with a particular topic of Disney, is that something we could discuss? Let's talk.
Do you mean that you have a topic you want me to make an episode about?
@@disfarers Yes. And I'd happily sponsor the video with funding, if you're open to it.
Funding isn't required. I'm just really curious. What's the subject you want to see?
@@disfarers I was thinking Anika Noni Rose. I met her once and she was kind to me. So I wanted to sponsor a video in her honor.
hrmmmm...I'm not against doing an episode on an actress. Let me research to see just what an episode focused on her would look like.
I always like Fig as i like to call him lol ❤
I think he's great too! Thanks so much for commenting. Your Fig comment made me crack a smile btw.
