I am proud of you and happy to be a Citizen myself trusting to witness/share all you are going to achieve AND what you have already achieved !!. I WISH YOU WELL AND MAY YOU STAY HEALTHY. I have to say until recent times I have not fully informed myself of all Winston Peters stands for. Now I can only vehemently agree with all he stands for. Time is well overdue to turn our country around. It is a long road ahead but with the right leadership we can and will make it happen. Respect to Winston Peters for standing his ground for New Zealand.

Because we have a bunch of people that blindly vote for their team - either red or blue cos that’s how the family vote. The other parties bring some moderation. NZ first moderated labour in their first term. You see what happened the last three years when Labour had total control… speaks for itself.
National had some good policies but some that weren’t that great.
Both ACT and NZ first have brought positive aspects to this government. That I think is actually stronger by having all three there.
E.g. If it weren’t for Nz first the residential property market would be back open to foreign investors to speculate on to name just one.
So yeah only in because of national. But equally national only in because of them. Is what it is. That’s MMP. We voted as a country to have this system so it is what it is.

Kudos to Winnie. Few politicians want to reduce immigration figures because it is a cheap and easy way of keeping growth numbers up. The idea of constant economic ‘growth’ is very palatable to certain sections of the public, especially the economic elite who do not have to compete for jobs or accommodation at the working class level. With regard to illegal immigration there is little willpower to address the issue with any real force and nobody wants to appear ‘racist’. This effectively means that our society has increasingly little real control of our borders. Our immigration policy is being determined by the aspirations and desires of folk from the “developing countries”.
Might have to give new immigrants a tent when they arrive.

50% “not attending regularly” actually includes students missing even one day in a week for being sick. The statistic is misleading. A contributing factor is high school students missing school to go to work to help support families struggling on minimum wages that parents are working. Can’t see this government working to increase wages because employers won’t want that.
