next time, remove the grass first. The best way is to solarize the area by covering it with CLEAR plastic for a month or so (depending on the climate). The sun will basically bake the grass to death- roots and all. I have seen people do this with the bags of mulch they plan on eventually using once their beds are planted out. This may take a bit longer since the sun cant do it's baking trick but it'll still work.

Ok you have to keep us informed. There is a cloth that is impregnated with wildflower seeds, plus helps to retain moisture to.
