Story time! Back in I believe the summer of 2016, my friends and I went to a gaming convention. Myself and another friend went to see Thrown Controllers, the game show hosted by the Runaway Guys. One of the challenges was to have two people play a match of Kart Fighter. No one knew what it was and everyone was extremely confused. The match eventually went into round 3 and the person playing as Toad (I think?) just narrowly won with barely any health remaining and the crowd was going wild. It was one of the most unusually hype moments I’ve ever witnessed in person, and it was amazing.
I miss your monthly Top Tens. This video was top-notch humor, and with a subject as STUFFED with options as bootlegs, it makes me wish this had gotten that extended treatment. I 100% understand why they were dropped over time since you're busy and everything, but let it be known there's an audience for longer content out there! Keep up the fantastic work.

I remember having this bootleg on gameboy Color called Pokemon Carbuncle that turned pokemon into a strategy rpg, I think the gameplay came from Super Robot Wars? I played it quite a lot, it was really good for a bootleg.
You're firing on all cylinders in this one, top notch. The couch bit of you being a bootleg yourself, some wonderfully weird bootlegs, Titenic in all its bizarre glory. Great work.
I want to say that I'm surprised that there's a bootleg video game based on The Titanic, but I would need to forget about the three Titanic animated movies.
So, I know that ad reads tend to be heavily scripted, but I’ve seen enough Ridge Wallet ads to have a question about them. Do they think that people can’t carry old bulky wallets in their FRONT pocket? Each one of those ads have said that carrying your wallet in the back pocket is silly, but act like carrying them in the front pocket is something you can only do with the Ridge. I carry my own wallet in the front pocket. Have done for a decade.
I just love Rabbidluigi’s reaction about the mushroom Digimon in Pearl Pocket Turner. XD We need more of bootleg Rabbidluigi. The automated voice is so hilarious. XD
I have wanted to see a Pokemon platformer for years. Gamefreak could probably be able to make one given TPC lets them focus on it full time. They did make Pulseman after all, and I heard Tembo the Badass Elephant wasn't bad either.
The thing that kills me is that they could easily do something like this. They could just outsource it to a decent Indie dev or something. That's kind of what they're doing with the Diamond and Pearl remakes after all.
@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince I was talking more about Gamefreak themselves making the game on their own. Although there may be more to it than that, like TPC not being interested in making a platformer.
Videos covering bootlegs, fan-games, user-made content and such would be a great series - at this point it is an art in and of itself which deserves attention from the mainstream as much as any relevant topic.
7:51 Here it literally translated as 'Pearl Pocket Monster' btw. Digimon in Chinese has the word 'monster' in there too for those who are curious. Not sure where did that random 'pearl' came from. 10:16 It is actually a mistranslation (some China Chinese peeps are terrible at English). You forgot the part where they somehow decided that it should be a beat-'em-up for some reason. I could easily see an Adventure or maybe a plattformer, but this...
Seeing that bootleg Pokémon platformer is super nostalgic to me, since I remember JonTron talking about it way back (before he fell off) in his Pokémon bootlegs video.
To be honest after seeing so many video games centered around World War 1 and 2 seeing a bootleg game on the Titanic is not that surprising despite the maiden voyage tragic ending.
World Heroes 2 must have been a damn experience for anyone who picked it up fresh, but today with the likes of fan games, ROM hacks, and the actual roster of Smash Bros, and it's various imitators, it's roster seems positively tame.
It's weird that Rabbidluigi points out that Super Mario Kart fighters feels like a predecessor to Smash considering World Heroes 2 was covered earlier, and that's a multi-company crossover. He didn't even mention that third party characters like Sonic and Ryu would be made official Fighters down the line.
I remember playing this amazing Pokémon Japanese rom hack called Pokémon Fiya Red not fire but fiya. Even though it had allot of weird stuff but that plot and playing as a character that isn’t from the Pokémon universe is just so amazing including music that doesn’t even sound something from Pokémon but even better.
Um, not every character in Street Fighter 2 had a projectile. In fact, before Street Fighter 2: Hyper Fighting, the only characters who did have a projectile were Ryu, Ken, Dhalsim, Guile, and Sagat. Hyper Fighting gave Chun-Li one as well, and then by Super Turbo the only additional characters with projectiles were Dee Jay and Akuma.
I asked my wife for a translation of the Pokemon bootleg. She translated it as Pearl Pocket Monsters, which would basically make it Pokemon Pearl 2. I guess the ‘2’ part makes more sense now.
These are indeed some pretty strange games. I think I actually remember seeing Kart Fighter on ConnertheWaffle and as for Titenic I saw that on JonTron
