We had a last Saturday in September event one year where we started put very cool (wore a hoodie to set up, I’m in NJ) & was predicted to get sunny & rise to low 80s…. Brought sunscreen, baseball caps…. NOPE! Stayed chilly the entire day! I took a beanie out of my inventory & my hubby bought a that town school hoodie. Brrrr…
I appreciate your honesty. Speaking from 25+ years of experience. I know how a vendors displays are as important as the products being sold. I concur, weather is always a factor in a customers attendance & sales. Your display was on point! My only suggestion on the pumpkins, would be creating pumpkins in autumnal tones/shades. My favorite were the knotty-knit pumpkins. I would have definitely purchased one in a fall shade. TFS, Sara
I just came back from my BEST CRAFT SHOW YET!! I sold almost half my inventory, I think we both know that can be a good thing, and a bad thing. I even have another craft show next Saturday so let’s pray I can make enough inventory in time😂😂.
Thank you for showing us the good and the bad. I’m having a day where I work on stuff and I keep switching back-and-forth from one thing to another because I don’t know what’s gonna sell like you said we’re getting close to winter. I do have a lot of pumpkins. I hope they move this weekend. Been afraid to tackle the velvet yarn hat, but I’m gonna give it a try. Thanks so much for all your tips and tricks, that really really worked!
I had my first WINDY market at the start of October- Good duct tape is a friend! I duct taped all the displays to the tables. Learnt that from the previous market that had a bit of wind, when my metal pegboards fell over. I also had a fake mini Christmas tree set up, and just duct tape on the legs didn't work, ended up using a rope from the canopy, wrapped around the tree trunk and then to another display item. My last market last week, I used duct tape and magnets! Worked well. 😃 Super glued 2 magnets together with an elastic between them, so that they were either side of the tree legs, then had another 2 magnets opposite them under the table.👍 But yeah, HOW do you only need 45 minutes to set up?? I need the full 2 hours!! LOL. Granted 99% of the time I'm alone, but last market I had a friend help set up because we actually had to transport stuff from the car to the other side of the park.... Still 2 hours.
I watch your videos all the time and I just wanted to jump in on this one and say that your new editing looked amazing! The extra time and effort was well worth it!
Oh my gosh, thank you SO much! 🥰💕 I’m so glad you love the displays-I try to make them as cute and inviting as possible! And yes, outdoor pop-ups are definitely no joke, LOL! 😂 But hearing this makes all the hard work totally worth it! 💖✨
❤First, I just want to say that I LOVE you and I LOVE your channel so much! You’ve been a huge inspiration for me to begin selling at shows and markets (have been very overwhelmed by the logistics of it all), and your announcement about your course at the end of this video was exactly what I was hoping for, so it was the BEST surprise! I am definitely going to sign up for this, I cannot wait! Thank you for all that you do, you’re amazing 💗
Ahhh, girl, this made my day! 🥰💕 I’m so glad my videos are helping you feel ready for shows! And yay, I can’t wait to see you in the course-you’re gonna rock it! Thanks for all the love!! 💗✨
In August I went through having a windy market❤😊and that's when it started Light then I started to get worried and helped my neighbor with booth so things didn't fly away I was thinking yarn stuff Light and it was going to and starting to rain so myself and neighbors packed up cuz I figured that stuff trying to dry it out would not go how I was envisioned lol but did kinda get creative by putting things on top of my stuff and holding it down
That wind is no fun!! Glad you still had some good sales. Was that one of your fleece baby blankets with white pom poms on the corners? Could you tell me or even do a quick tutorial on how to attach them securely? I have your fleece baby blanket pattern and love it! I’m working on one now. 🥰
Did someone get some new software? Love the little extras in the editing. I have actually met other crochet crafter's at markets that know you and have bought your patterns and watch your videos. So cool your patterns are really getting out there and around the US. In my booth, most loved the bubble pumpkins and I sold a lot of those. Have a wonderful day!
I do not even crochet, but I just love your vibe and being here. What is the wooden "fence" you display on your table? Also yeah I have noticed the closer to halloween it gets many more people swap to Christmas. I think prime fall time is now Sept- Mid/early October
I just experienced my first windy market day and I'm so glad for my paranoia and all the videos I've watched warning about tents blowing over. The very first thing I do once the tent is up is stake it and weight it and boy was I glad I did last weekend. I watched 3 other tents blow over but mine was fine. Phew! :) I do have a question for you though. How do you set up so fast? Do you have one box full of the stock you put out first, or do you simply open each box, take out few items and move on to the next box of merchandise? I guess a big part of my problem is that I have many, many colors of the same item rather than having just 4 - 6 colors to choose from. I end up spending a lot of time trying to decide what colors I want to display first and what looks best together. I plan to limit my color options in 2025 but meanwhile.... Any suggestions on speeding up the process would be appreciated.
You don't show yourself putting up your canopy. Does the market provide it or do you have to bring your own. I have to bring my own and it sometimes takes almost half an hour just to get it put up before I can even think about setting up my inventory.
Oh lawzylawd, I do not miss the windy outdoor market days, lol. You gotta get really creative to stop your stuff from blowing away. One of my favorite ways to stop that is to sew tubes out of fabric (1.5 inches x 3 feet) and fill them with dollar tree decorative rocks and lay them across the rows of hats vertically on the table. I usually busted them out when the forecast called for winds over 10mph.
I have a question about your beanies! I feel like I’m not getting to the correct gauge? I think 🤔 it is. How do you measure to meet the approximate sizes? I love your beanies and plan to make and sell some myself next year when I do a Mother’s Day market so these will be perfect! 🙂
They sell great at Mother's Day events, that will be perfect! :) As far as gauge, you may need to go up or down a hook size to match. If you'd like to send me an email with a photo of your stitches I'd be happy to take a look and make sure everything looks correct too! :) My email is camrynscutecreations@gmail.com
I ran into a similar issue with sizing when making them for my kids, but I’ve since learned I’m a tight crocheter so I have to go up a hook size for most things. The easiest way I found to figure out sizing without wasting a ton of yarn or having to guess was by googling hat size charts and then make your chain double the circumference or width to get it right. I hope this helps some!
Have you ever had a windy market like this!?😱 Share your experiences (and tips!) here!⬇

So sweet of you! 🥹 Thank you for the love! 🎀
Your displays are really attractive; all the crochet items are so cute. Lots of hard work to do pop-ups, especially outdoor ones; well done!

Haha girl watching your POV of how bad the wind got is so funny bc we both were trying to hard
LOL, right?! 😂 The wind was a whole vibe that day! 😂💕 I’m so glad I wasn’t alone in the struggle-teamwork makes the dream work! 🥰

What is your hat pattern? Doesn’t look like a knitting machine one and really like it
Also interested in the beanie pattern! 🤍
oooh it's got so cold so quickly! 😬
I know, right?! Ahhh, it feels like we skipped right over fall and went straight to winter! 🥶
Your booth is adorable. You have great style.
Aww, thank you so much! 🥰💕 I’m so glad you think so! Your support means the world! ✨💖
Heello, i was wondering what card reader you use for your craft shows! 😊

Thank you for sharing!
You’re so welcome!! 🥰💕 So happy you’re enjoying it! ✨
Loved the vlog. Are your pompoms washable?

What an awful day with the
