    Nissan merging with Renault was such a dud deal for Nissan, and just think about the knob that buys an X Class and thinks they are buying King Techno Chariot when really it's a Navara with a shitty Renault engine, talk about soul destroying.

    I have one of these in NZ 2015 np300 ST-X 4x4 80000 klm no issues so far was worried about the trans fluid not being changed but have been told they have a fluid tester? Loving the 20000 oil changes. My last nissan was a 1996 R50 Q3.2 diesel GM3r Terrano had it for 220000k over 9 years did not ever miss a beat, before that was a 91 D21 GM3r 2.7 turbo diesel terrano awesome!!! same again never missed a beat apart from the rocker pads disappearing at around 220000k added non return valves in the fuel lines too what a difference that made.
    My NP is averaging 8.1 liters per 100 km hiway/town compared to 14-15 for the terrano. NP dose go if you hammer it, gets to 100klm pretty damn quick also is a smooth ride and not so many wrattles yet. Regardless i'm liking it so far. May tune out the ERG and delete the DPF yet still thinking on it. We also have five diesel D40s at work all 4x4s all going strong keep up the good work you guys rock.

      @barringtonbrown736 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrKrueger88 yep i wondered. I'm getting fluids organized asap. I'm also considering both a aux oil and trans cooler too, all my others had that mod, cant hurt. However I don't know how the brain will react to the extra fluids or even if it would. My NP300 out of warranty.

    • @MrKrueger88
      @MrKrueger88 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@barringtonbrown736 it's the best insurance you can have , regular , good quality oils make all the difference . As for the computer , it won't know the difference . You only need oil pressure for the oil light to go off . And the coolers are good too , as high temps kill oils .

    I have had the x class now for a year and it’s been faultless, the only things they share with the Navara are the motor and the door handles.. As far as I’ve read MB even had workers on the assembly lines at Nissan.. Even the paint is MB which is their own blend of water based acrylic they developed themselves.. I had a Navara before I purchased the x class and they are miles apart..

    @pdr5926 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Regarding engines, there are lemons from each and every manufacturer. Your luck you don't get one. Aside from this fact we ignore how the poor thing has been treated by its owner. More than many times this is the result of abuse, improper fuel, or lack of basic maintenance or inspection. A loose hose clamp will cook your engine if you don't pay basic attention to things.

    • @westyorkshireengineservice9160
      @westyorkshireengineservice9160  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      We said the same but it was bought with a no warranty from Nissan due to a company buying them at a cheap rate from Nissan. Because the motor had run with a water leak and cooked the cylinder head the company would not stand the warranty sad to say

    in Australia we have a different engine, Nissan markets the new 2.3 diesel made in Thailand as the YS23DDTT engine plus others, the reason is we have fuel below euro 4 standards, in Europe you have euro 5 fuel so Nissan can't use this engine, instead Nissan uses the NV400 Renault nee Nissan engine, its a good thing for us as Europe is the testing ground for crap engines so we know beforehand if they come here, and I ticked the box for like.

      I think you will find that the ys23ddtt is also the mercedes om699 which is made in collaboration with renault. Its based of the renault m9x engine just had more displacement. They are infact the same engine as in the video. Its not the first time they have used a renault/renault based engine as the D40 STX 550 has the V9X 3l V6 which is a beast for towing!

    Hi, manufacturers re-badging others cars has gone on for years. Honda sold the Isuzu Bighorn, Toyota sold the Holden Commodore and Holden sold the Toyota Camry, it's a long standing tradition.
    Nissan's having Renault motors is not new, they have owned each other for years. Merc wanting to sell them isn't that surprising and of course they will ramp up the prices, they are Mercedes Benz, that's what they do! And you think you have it bad in the UK, try buying European car parts in Australia or NZ, you pay 2 - 3 times the price here.
    MB are doing it for no other reason that they want to get into a market without setting up to do full production. Having a re-badged Nissan/Renault will come back to bite them on the bottom but they will do as they have always done, shrug it off and have a go elsewhere.
    A quick note - the tape isn't really covering the licence plate properly, you can still read it quite clearly.
    Bill.
