    Samsung Galaxy J5 Screen Repair, Teardown and Reassemble Guide Video Transcription:
    Warning:
    You are performing this repair at your own risk
    We claim no responsibility for any damages that might occur
    The DIY Samsung Galaxy J5 repair tools used in this video can be found here: www.fixez.com/...
    Step 1
    Power down your Samsung Galaxy J5 smartphone.
    Step 2 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Rear Battery Cover)
    Easily remove the Galaxy J5 rear cover. The only tool required is an opposable thumb!
    Step 3 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Battery)
    Take out the 2600 milliampere-hour (mAh) Samsung Galaxy J5 battery.
    Step 4 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Exterior Midframe)
    Remove the following 9 Phillips screws.
    Use the triangle opening tool to work around the Samsung phone and free the exterior midframe.
    Step 5 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Loudspeaker)
    With the tweezers in hand, eradicate the Galaxy J5 loudspeaker box from the midframe.
    Step 6 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Motherboard)
    Disconnect the cable for the headphone jack assembly and then the display cable.
    Remove the following Phillips screw.
    With the cables out of the way, lift out the Galaxy J5 motherboard.
    Step 7 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Rear-Facing Camera and Front-Facing Camera)
    Spudge up the 5-megapixel Samsung Galaxy J5 front-facing camera.
    Flip over the motherboard and remove the 13-megapixel Galaxy J5 rear-facing camera.
    Step 8 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Earpiece Speaker and Vibrator)
    Pluck out the spring-contact-connected earpiece speaker.
    Remove the Samsung Galaxy J5 vibrator.
    Step 9 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Display Assembly)
    Begin to free the Galaxy J5 display assembly by using the multi-purpose heat gun to warm up the adhesive.
    Use playing cards to attack the adhesive securing the display assembly to the interior midframe.
    Take your time and apply additional heat as needed.
    Once you have sliced through the adhesive, be mindful of the modular home button and bottom button LED cables and home button switch when decoupling the Galaxy J5 screen from the midframe.
    Step 10 (Samsung Galaxy J5 Headphone Jack, Cables for the Bottom Buttons, and Home Button Switch)
    Extract the headphone jack assembly. It includes the home button switch, cables for the bottom buttons, and the Galaxy J5 headphone jack.
    * To reassemble your device, follow the steps in reverse order.

      Replacing the ribbon shown at 6:06 should rectify the problem. Has the phone gotten wet? If so check for corrosion on the connection on the bottom of the motherboard where it connects.

    can you just pry off the broken screen (disconnecting the flexible tail connector) then replace with new screen without disassembling the entire unit?

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ideally you'd want to remove the motherboard and small parts to prevent any damage while removing the display.

    Are those white squares with pink dots the LDIs?
    On my girlfriend's phone the one under battery is missing completely. Haven't open the rest yet. I'm just trying to understand if she should take it to shop first before attempting repairs ;)

    How do I just replace the glass touchscreen digitalizer?

    • @Fixez
      @Fixez  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The digitizer and display are fused. Replacing just the glass requires special machinery and that repair is outside the scope of our videos.

  • @dooronron69
    @dooronron69 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    do you really have to do a total strip down just to remove the display, surely most parts like speaker and cameras etc could have been left in there

    • @zakaryan2004
      @zakaryan2004 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dooronron69 Read the title. It also says teardown. There are a lot of people who just need to replace e.g. speaker.
