JC! Young King! Man, watching your video and your aura says...LIFE IS GOOD!!!! Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your journey! You're an inspiration to us all! Much continued success in all that you do.
I appreciate you slumming it in the designer realm from time to time. I'm still new enough to frags that I'm trying to catch up with the classics, old and modern. Plus, with designer prices vis a vis niche, I'll probably hang out here for a while, and may just stay here forever, as I'm not looking to become a collector. I'm not looking for complements, but I just want to experience and enjoy some nice scents.
Another appreciated video Justin. I've noticed that you have an appreciation for Fougere barbershop type fragrances and from previous videos I've seen your approval of bou de jour by Tom Ford which I love too. If you really want to smell a fascinating take on Fougere, you've got to put your nose on Tom Ford's Fougere D'Argent. I've never smelled any Fougere like it and I think you would appreciate it!
Justin thanks for introducing us some amazing designers fragrances. I own some of the fragrances like Guerlain and some Cartier fragrances and I must admit that they are great! Thanks, mate 👏🏽💪🏾🙌🏾👍🏽
Bottega Veneta pour homme line is great. I’m lucky enough to have the parfum edition and I just cherish my bottle. I love that it stands apart from what basically everyone else is doing. The pine and leather sit over a slight sweetness that is not sugary and is not the focus so it keeps a masculine profile no one else will smell like you. Def over 30 I’d say. And I really do love Beau du jour another mainstream frag that smells great and follows no trends. In fact it’s so separated from what people currently wear you will absolutely be noticed
Thankyou so much for all the good information and advice. And I also have to thank you for your incredible clear English pronunciation; I am not a native English speaker, and I do get every single word you said. Greetings from Chile.
Mr. Copeland, I been saying for the longest that Chanel badly needs a new line release! At the very least another allure release…. I have to say your taste is very classy and not always easy to wear but a lot of bangers on here. Some I just can’t jive with but majority on here are crazy good picks my man. PS- NR Parfum is like a Valentino uomo intense just fresher, with a more woodier base and touch of blue dna. Really good
About Issey Miyake, recently smelled what I think is their latest Summer offering: L'Eau de Issey pour Homme by Kevin Lucbert. Found it really nice, might get it.
JC always appreciate you being real with it - really real on early days with Terre D’ Hermès. I’m new to the game and have felt embarrassed by my recent (similar) reaction to Black Orchid. I sampled the EDT on one wrist and the EDP on the other and about did myself in on the drive home. 😂 Anyway thanks always for your candor and encouragement
There is not too much that Hermes makes that I do not like. They also have Un jardin Sur Mediterranee (smells very vegetal yet masculine) and D'orange Vert which is just a wonderful citrus smell. I got these ideas from Sebastien, another reviewer. Between you and him, I have made 90% of my purchases. You might want to also look at Costume National and Commodity Fragrances. These 2 are REALLY GOOD and I believe are worth every scent (haha). But this doesn't stop me from looking for bargains. But I don't know where to put them as my collection is just over 400 now. I think I am addicted to this because I spend more time on TH-cam looking at yall than I do watching regular TV shows. oh yeah, bought BV illusione..that is REALLY NICE. Thanks for the tip and Issey Miyake Amber Noir......WOW! Also try Noir Argent. I love that one!
I just got Encre Noir A L' Extreme and love it. I love L' Homme Ideal Intense, Habit rouge is great but I have to give it a full wearing. Issey is great, I love the original pour Homme & Blue D 'Issey, have to try the ones you suggested. Dior new Sports is good, but my favorite is Fahrenheit (original edt). Bottega Venetta pour Homme (original) is just lovely. The only Hermes I used is the original Terre d' Hermes: masterpiece. Un Jardin is a bit too soft for my taste. As for TF: Bois Marocain, Tuscan Leather and Beau de Jour are awesome. I still have to investigate Ombre leather more closely as well as his Oud perfumes and the new releases. The only one I have mixed feelings about is F*** Fabulous.
I’ve learnt that the reason we smell cherry when an almond note is present is due the ingredient benzaldehyde, which provides the almond note, but, always with a hint of cherry
I'm big on barbershop and fougeres and recently got a 10ml sample of At the Barber's and ended up buying a bottle at a good price. While I wasn't blown away by the scent, I was surprised about how easy it is to wear. Any time, any weather, or any situation it works for me. Nice to have an easy dumb reach in a genre which can sometimes come across as overtly masculine or dated.
Hey Justin great topic much more difficult to choose the one anyway Noir Ambre absolutely one of the best in the line, Lalique l'insoumis this is unique & a compliment getter if that's for you beautiful. One Cartier that stands out for me Cartier L'ENVOL what can I say, Guerlain the best designer house is it a designer house ? My current no.1 is Guerlain L'instant man this as changed in the last decade but it's refined manly it's got class written all over it. Tom Ford I have tried a number of his fragrances but one always capture my mind & senses it's Tom Ford Noir. Dior Sauvage edt is still number 1 can you believe it after how long a new classic. Thxs really enjoyed this category
Me and my friend was just talking about Chanel needing to bring out something new also last week, hopefully they have something in works at the very least I'd hope.
JC, I have agreed with you in your analysis of the frag world and their objectives..People buy what they by but they should not spend doo doo dumb dollars on flankers that smell similar to the original..I a great collection of designer scents but very few of them smell the same! As summer is winding down I am confiscating some bucket list fragrances to round out my collection..🎺🎶🎶🎺💨👋
@@stayfreshproductions it's a favorite of mine. Def worth a try. Bergamot, Salt, and seaweed notes. A very rugged, authentic, and simple. Great for the heat.
Tom Ford is, mostly, an 'inspired by' house but Tuscan Leather is a Tom Ford OG so far,I haven't come across any scent that might have inspired it...I did see a new Sauvage flanker tease from the Dior channel a couple of months ago, the it had a wooden cap!
As someone who's pretty much exclusively into designers (I have a few niche, though), I like lists like this because I feel like I can give some feedback. Cartier, Dior, Lalique, Chanel (even though they haven't released anything outside the Bleu line for a long time), YSL, Hermes and Bvlgari are my go-to brands for interesting fragrances that you can still find on the market for a reasonable price, i.e. not discontinued (why does Gucci have to discontinue every good fragrance that they've ever made???). Stay away from Armani and Gucci IMO, overpriced lines that seem to think they're in the upper echelon even though they don't have many good fragrances, you can get similar quality from Versace, D&G or Paco Rabanne for a much lower price. Good list!
Feel like some niche houses are starting to pick up on the designer side of things where scents smell very similar to other scents basically mimicking scents, starting to feel less unique.
@@stayfreshproductions it was, of course, some “limited edition” version . There’s also a close to $800 dollar bottle of Roja Dove Elysium out there too.
As Lalique is a glass maker, they came out with limited editions of certain scents. Lalique's glass work is never cheap......
@@blankmandastankman I don't even believe a $30 bottle of fragrance is worth it if you don't like the scent. But to answer your question: a $700 fragrance is not worth it to me.
