I would recommend: The Tower of London, The National Gallery, St Paul's Cathedral, The Monument and Madame Tussauds as tourist attractions and Windsor Castle (c 40min away by train). I don't think you should bother with The London Eye (as good views from St Paul's and The Monument) or Buckingham Palace (I can't remember anything worth seeing there.)
