Very under-appreciated bird. So unique. Many differnt calls and sounds. I've had a pair nest on my patio 2 years in a row now. The male is the silent watcher/protector in the trees during incubation 💪🏻then has equal duty feeding the chicks.
There was a young Robin last year whose parents were trying to get him to fly up in the trees and forage for food. He refused and instead sat on a part of our back deck. I finally took a box and filled it with bird seed and put him in the box. I took him over to a fenced pasture where he had some protection from predators and set the box down. He hopped up and yelled at me and then flew off. His Dad followed him. The next day , I saw that the seeds were gone in the box. A Robin sat on a branch yelling at me and flew at me. This year I had lots of Robin's gathering worms in that pasture. Then I saw a Robin with a beak full of twigs on the fence.
tweet tweet little robin... i'll be your mate.... come closer... what, this thing? oh no, it's not a pellet gun - it's just a sound recorder.... so I can record your beautiful ear-piercing song you like to sing at 4 am every day.... yes, come a little closer friend....
I whistle at my window every morning and they show up QUICK! Like,” You called?” We know it’s a male🤓Hubby teases me and says “ Robin” is trying to ask me out on a date🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@garyphotoor it may be because he lives in an area where there are not American robins and he may have European robins so he could be unfamiliar with this bird
"Look at me I can balance on one foot"
Kaci Koch lol 😂

Or "feel sorry for me, I only have one leg"

These guys must be related to blackbirds the way they move and mutter lol
American robins are a type of thrush, from what I've read.

He has a swollen foot, maybe from a previous injury.

@@garyphoto omg this was 4 years ago I don't remember this 😭
@@garyphoto ohhh I think I said that because of the second half of the vid? It seemed more like aggressive/defensive calling at the end :')
@@Vanelyyy That's interesting! Thanks for the insight. I'm an amateur so I'm trying to learn all I can.
Same

Those birds are so annoying.😠 I would take hearing a blue jay over a robin any time.

the twerk and a single short note is flirting behaviour. And they're looking back at you, so you're the target LOL

@@winnhill3736 I think we are right. It is a Robin.
@@garyphotowell I think what he meant is that american robins aren't actually considered a species of robins but they are rather a thrush
