- Here’s a cool idea. Three rather underrated acappella bass singers. Not to say they’re all super unknown, but they’re obviously less popular than some.
All three have really solid low chest ranges, and a few extended techniques. But for the most part these guys use chest/fry exclusively.

Obviously, Elliott is the lowest. But who’s the best? Frankly, I can’t really decide. It kinda depends tbh.

I just wondering: what is your vocal range?

that said all of them are honestly rly good at all 3 of those things and are all super underrated compared to avi tim and geoff even though all 3 of the guys in this video could probably go toe to toe with those guys when it comes to bass singing

It would be a G#0 because it was a G#1 chest note

Then, he drops an octave lower by accident.
Nice bass battle, haven’t heard of any of these singers. In my opinion Joe Santoni has the best chest, he has a very full sound. And I don’t think the other two are using chest after G#1-G1. It sound really chest-fry ish. Doesn’t sound like chest to me. I think there is some fry in it.

Matthew Dockray-why does it sound so weird. Example 9:26. I’m just confused on why it sound so scratchy. Help:)
Anonymous Blank Some things Elliott said about his voice a few years ago: “my lows kept getting fuller/lower, and I made that weird color/style play my brand, of sorts. I always enjoyed imitating artists I liked (wide variety), more than doing standard exercises--starting with ones that are closer to my natural color/texture in mid/upper chest, and then moving away from that.”
“I’m no opera singer, but it’s as easy note to produce and it’s resonant [A1]. I can project if I need to, but I almost never need to with the style of music I sing. It’s not something I need to cultivate, since I‘ve never had choral or operatic ambitions. And normally it’s quite the opposite, a smoother and warmer sound just sounds better with the R&B, vocal jazz, and most contemporary aca.”
Bare in mind he is also a mostly retired singer too

They are all very underrated I think! They are good singers and have lower daily chest notes than Geoff, Avi or Tim.
Do you know how old they are? My guess would be that Elliott is oldest.

Pretty sure the human body has its limits and F#1 seems to be the barrier for many low basses, I know we have some freaks of nature but typically no one can lower than F#1 chest

I thought so too, but Jojo is credited in the description as one of the vocalists, Joe’s name is not there. I’m guessing Jojo recorded a few songs with them.

Update: I asked Joe and he said that Jojo did bass on 5 or so songs on the debut, including You’ll Be In My Heart.
So it is Jojo. But only on the debut record. Everything after that is Joe
