Chariots of Fire was one of the greatest inspirational films of all time. There is no doubt of it. Eric Liddell, in particular, was a true champion in every way. - a hero, a Christian, and a caring, compassionate humanist of the first order. To this day: both Scotland, China, and most of the world [that remembers him] admires just about everything about the man. [some bitter feminists notwithstanding]

It’s my favorite film of all time, now we have lost both of its lead actors. 😥

I don't recall any feminists not liking him.

Just curious. Which feminists don’t like Eric Liddell and why? I’ve read several of his biographies as well as interviews from women who knew him, and I can’t think of anything sexist about him.

The missing piece of paper which Liddell is handed by an American rival but well-wisher. That piece of paper can be edited back into that 400 metres scene. If Chariots Of Fire it was being re-edited. 2012?
Liddell is holding the bit of paper at the start and the finish of the scene in the original film version. Head back mouth open scene. Paper has disappeared. Small point but still rankles. Great Film, Lord Puttnam. Thank you.

It was a continuity error. The scenes were filmed separately and someone overlooked the presence of the scrap of paper in Ian Charleson’s hand.

I am one who has been influenced eternally. 2 years by the grace of the LORD alone I was BORN AGAIN (John 3.3) and am now a Christian. I am also one of Scot and Confederate american descent and thank the FATHER and my SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST every day for this.
