Friday The 13th VI is my favorite in the series...they mixed the humor and seriousness nicely. The humor was perfectly timed and the movie was serious when it needed to be.
Jason Lives is my favorite in the series. It's very light hearted/funny/actually has a reasonable plot and the music in this one soooo awesome. It really draws you into the movie.
Love how Dr. Wolfula is so witty and funny in his reviews. It reminds me on when I was a kid and catch Elvira’s Movie Macabre. That cool 70’s -80’s vibe of hosting horror films. Very creative. Best review channel on TH-cam

ive come back to this because i watched this era of your channel when i was a little kid. I'm an adult now and the intro was nostalgic as hell. Love and miss your videos Doc!
There was actually supposed to be a lot more gore and blood in this movie, but it was gutted by the MPAA. The gore would have been Robocop style over the top to add to the dark humor. We did get to see some of the aftermath though. The scene with the cabin interior smeared with blood for instance. There was a deleted scene that showed Jason killing the teenagers that were in the cabin, in all it's bloody glory. Or should I say, "gory"?
No, not from what I've read. Jason Lives is the first Friday the 13th movie that didn't have a problem with the MPAA. In fact, there was a lack of kills in the original cut. 13 characters were supposed to die but the producers insisted that three more deaths be added. Also, more gore was thrown in in a few places, like with Sissy; you didn't see her death originally but they added a shot of her head getting twisted off in the final cut.

I think this is probably my favorite Doctor Wolfula review (and I've seen them all). It's extra-detailed but still funny. Ahhctober V is pretty epic so far!

The new Friday the 13th game that's coming out soon has Tommy Jarvis in it as a playable character. Survivor players can call for his help, and a dead player will be revived in control of Tommy. Tommy has great stats in all categories, special lines voiced by his original actor, and spawns carrying a gun, which lets him knock Jason out for a while if he manages to shoot him. He's still just as vulnerable to being slaughtered by whoever' playing as Jason, though, so he's gotta be just as careful as the others.
My 2nd favourite F13 movie, after Manhattan (I'm not even kidding). Jason looks awesome, the characters are great, the kills are great, the humour is great, and Alice Cooper's awesome song man Behind the Mask.
Jason Goes to Hell could have been good. I wish they would have explored the idea of Jason being a Deadite more. The Necronomicon being in his house was an awesome easter egg, but they left it at that. They explore his connection to the Necronomicon in Freddy vs Jason vs Ash and it's really bad ass.

I have probably watched this movie more than any other horror movie I can think of off the top of my head, even though I still wouldn’t call it my favorite, it is a super fun time!
The best part of this is NO ONE can tell me Jason isn't undead at this point. Mostly because they dropped all mystery and just made him obviously undead. Although no one can tell me he wasn't undead the whole time. Watch Part 3 again people, no way Jason could survive to part 4 after that if he was mortal.
I'm with you because Jason died as a child by drowning or so Pamela his mother thought so, but yeah he was pretty much undead the whole time he just became way more undead and more unstoppable after part 4
"Part 6 is a controversial chapter among fans" Honestly unless your killer is Michael Myers how else are you going to bring back the same killer to your horror series considering how Jason died in 4 without something supernatural?

One of the series' best! Third favorite as a matter of fact, right behind Part 5 (for nostalgic reasons, it being my first "Friday" flick) and Part 8 (for it's campiness)... As you stated in the video, Doc, the movie pretty much encompasses the spirit of what a "Friday the 13th" sequel stood for . . . and still should! Saw this one at a drive in back in 86. It's...well...the only F13th movie that's really any good IMO. Actually had characters I cared about, a sense of humor and didn't make me feel utterly depressed after it ended. Great review, Doc!
Yea true. Part 6 was my favorite out of the hole franchise. It had reality still in it. Unlike 7 8 9 and all those stupid ass movies. Part six brought you a badass Jason. I loved six also because Jason was badass in this flick. It had a plot to. The theme had a good message also. And it is the only one we’re it shows the kids actually being in the movie.

I've been going back ad forth between your old and new videos. Hey, it's the apocalypse...I mean, quarantine. For some reason, we got to the theatre too early and walked in when Jason was standing on top of the RV. I burst out laughing and freaked out the audience unintentionally. Was not as successful as when watching part two, aka potato sack Jason, as a 13 year old where I yelled out something about Jason's shack tools. The packed audience laughed. All downhill from there, I guess.
This is somehow my favorite. Any time that I have dressed as Jason for Halloween, I have used this version of Jason as a template. Looks WAAY scarier than plain ol Jason from 4.

I always had a soft spot for part VI. Very reminiscent of the classic Universal Monster movies. Gotta love references to Boris Karloff’s Frankenstein.
I felt so bad for Paula. She seemed like such a sweet girl. Her death, in my opinion, is the most mean spirited kill in the franchise's history.
