I think franky is SUPER underrated. His backstory is probably one of the better ones on the crew and he’s underrated power wise as well. Also he’s hilarious.
Franky is strong but how he gets his strength is very different compared to almost every other person. Instead of practicing kicks, lifting weights, or mastering haki, he instead tinkers. This is very rare in one piece and, in my opinion, not as noble as training ones body. He is very powerful but his method of obtaining it doesn't feel very cool in comparison.

I agree my 2nd favorite SH is kinda underrated. His showings in Wano, make me feel like he doesnt improve at all since the timeskip bcoz we all knew he was capable of that. He destroyed a door that Sanji cant destroy in Punk Hazard. Also we didnt really see him go all out vs Senor Pink only on hand to hand
@@Dave_The_Musical_Fisherman Franky doesn’t really tinkers. I mean, he does but he was always building ships and weapons and then later deconstructing them. Usopp is more of a tinkerer in that sense. Maybe Franky wasn’t working out in a conventional way but doing what he did is a lot of work so you do still gain strength. Look at the Galley-La Company shipwrights and how buff they are. And the amount of stamina both Iceburg and Franky had building Sunny. Plus he lived in the slums so he’s used to fighting.
Buggy making his way to Shanks honestly makes a lot of sense to me. Mihawk also makes sense, however I think he'd be good on his own. Buggy might not be.
I feel like Buggy would be much better doing his own thing. There's a clear disparity between him and Shanks and his arc would be better if he somehow gets success in his own silly way rather than wagon-riding on Shanks.
Always thought Zoro would fight Mihawk in the final fight against the government. But now that he's not on this side anymore, it makes at least sense for Mihawk to be with Shanks when the Straw Hats will meet him. Luffy does want to defeat all emperors, so I guess we might get Shanks vs. Luffy and Zoro vs. Mihawk at the same time, as neither of them are antagonists.

Kanjuro is a fantastic use of Oda's unwillingness to kill characters, having him seemingly die several times only for him to be able to go "LOL that was a drawing stupid." I feel like Kanjuro is Oda making a joke on his own writing style.

just realized, that if Edward Weevil"s mother is smart, then she would transfer his status from warlord (who is a pirate) to a bounty hunter, that way one piece can have an actual non-pirate bounty hunter with enough power to capture pirates at least in the 100 million to 500 million range. this way Weevil and Bakkin can escape the ssg and marines while still earning money which is what Bakkin most likely cares about more than anything.
You could argue he’s even stronger considering his strength is compared to a young whitebeard I definitely see him being capable of beating a 2nd commander
Shanks and Mihawk's relationship reminds me of Luffy and Law's relationship. They are allies, one captain is chaotic and the other one is the serious guy, but they somehow work well together.
on arcs that increase in value over time I would like to bring up Thriller Bark. some threads set up in Thriller Bark are really coming to fruition in recent manga chapters.

As an arc villain perhaps Doflamingo is better. But I think Croc is way more interesting to me exactly because of that. The way he carries himself like a mob boss and his arc from being a villain to somewhat anti hero-ish. I love 3rd party characters that have own motives aside from just joining the 2 main big sides. Short temporary alliances, unpredictable and upholding a bit of respect for opponents/chivalrous. Including trying to save Luffy from Akainu etc. He's just way more intriguing to me. Doflamingo didn't really answer many questions that should've been answered imo and ultimately just served as a big bad wall. Still learnt almost nothing about world nobles's secret etc. Just Rebecca +Kyros /Doffy conflict.

I will never understand the whole "Once the thing is not a mystery it's not interesting anymore" mentality. The point of a mystery is for it to be solved, so when I get the "solution" (and it's good) I feel satisfied not bored or w/e. Like, do you just want stories that are all set up no pay off? I dont get it.
Exactly why I hate when people get so uptight about spoilers as if the only thing good about a series is just a plot twist and not the art, characters, direction, writing, cinematography etc.
Once the thing is not a mystery it's not interesting anymore -> this really applies to mysteries that were unsatisfactory to the reader in question...its highly subjective. But things like the mystery of what is the Force in Star Wars was universally disliked. There are mysteries that can be solved and ones that should be left ambiguous but again its subjective to the individual reader.

I honestly think if there's ever gonna be an arc based around Dr Vegapunk, it will result in great development for Franky and it could possibly make him more popular than the other crew members.
I always loved skypia, it was definitely like a break from progression at that point. But the comedy and drive was so great. And we were exploring apart of the one piece world that so few actually knew of in the one piece world.
It's the closest thing to an isolated island in a world of isolated islands. Enel (eneru) was also unique. Not a pirate or a navy agent. Enel just does what he wants. He also has one of the most busted DF, a quick mind, and a unique goal. He was strange in how he personally fought the whole crew. His minions were literally just entertainment for him since he planned on killing them anyway. He didn't even want to rule over people
You just spoke my mind as well. I think Skypiea was the arc that really showed me how much potential Luffy has in future chapter. We wouldnt have Luffy singing his island song without Skypiea xD

Honestly, I always thought that someone like Capone Bege would have worked better as not a straigh up pirate. Given him being inspired by the most famous mafioso ever and his main drive being to kill famous pirates he would have made more sense being the leader of an underground/sea assassin brotherhood or something like that, that mostly focuses on hunting pirates for the bounty money. Bounty Hunters really is the only part of the One Piece worlds that is really missing.
I love Kanjuro. The concept of someone getting numbed down emotionally to a point at which that person only defines themselves by their work is certainly something and using it for an actor is a perfect combination. That bit of Kiku being unable to comprehend this mentality was also genius as it helped us understanding her a bit more. I also just loved when it was revealed just how much he hid his true abilities all that time.
The buggy pirates could easily become a subordinate crew to the red hair pirates. We don't see much of the red hair pirates, but I never got the impression they were that big a crew - I'd imagine they're the smallest of the four emperor crews. If the Red Hair Pirates are gonna get more involved in the story, or take on Blackbeard, it'd make sense narratively for them to get an influx of manpower. Buggy has that on offer.

I always thought the idea behind bounties was to prevent alliances among the enemies of the WG. Its purpose was to keep them paranoid and breed the thought that they "always end in betrayal".
Before the timeskip franky was definitely my favorite character. After the timeskip and he got those freakishly massive arms and a shaved head. He went down quite a bit for me
One of the things I enjoyed about pre-ts Franky is that at first glance, you wouldn't immediately guess that he was a cyborg, making his weaponry all the more effective for surprise attacks.
I think bounties are useful from a narrative perspective, similar to power levels in Dragon Ball or duelist levels in Yugioh. They are meant to showcase the threat level of an enemy. For example, when Croc was revealed to have had a bounty of 80M before becoming a Warlord, it made him look like an impossible to overcome threat compared to Luffy at a meager 30M at the time.
I feel the latest episode gave some foreshadowing for Ussops conquerors haki. In it, he’s conquering his fears and reassuring Chopper by saying that they fought an emperor to a stalemate. That HAS to be a confidence booster. USSOP!! You just fought an emperor to a stalemate!! Does anything in this world still scare you?!

I never understood the hate for the skypia arc, it was the arc that got me into one piece. The library only had the skypia arc on cd so I watched it over and over again.
It's deemed as a filler since it feels out of place in the story and nobody joined the crew, even though it's actually a character arc for Robin right after she joined Straw Hats (which was needed to raise the stakes for Water 7 arc) and made for world building purposes. It also was a training arc for Chopper, helped Usopp learn new tricks via dials, introduced the battle royale-styled fight structure in OP and it made us believe Luffy was able to beat logia users, which is why Luffy's defeat against Aokiji felt so much more soul-crushing.
@@vito9824 is it that he learned them, or he first used them? I'm 2 episodes away from finishing Whole Cake Island in the anime, but reading the manga and am in Skypeia there. He *just* got to the ruins where they fight Ohm, and he already demonstrated the flying slash earlier in the jungle against a named Shandian. So idk if it's fair to say he learned it here or not
Yeah, I never understood that.... Other humans/zoan users's full zoan form aren't in any way related to their human form barring some very slight stuff like facial hair. A phoenix is just a phoenix, doesn't really have any resemblance to marco. The only zoan user I can think of whose full zoan form has so much resemblance to the user is only chopper. Chopper not being able to turn into a human would be like if any of the bird zoan forms are all featherless.

Teach is stronger now, but that's Shanks and Mihawk right there; that's almost like Kaido and Big Mom going against Teach in a 2v1, they're going to obliterate him. Just because Teach has two devil fruit powers doesn't mean he's going to win, you're forgetting about Haki. Kaido would even mop the floor with Teach in a 1v1. Teach would've been knocked out a long time ago if he was in Kaido's shoes at Onigashima, and I doubt he could handle fighting both Shanks and Mihawk.
Mihawk will "join" Shanks like they might hang out and work together but like not be a red hair for sure. I have had this thought a while I kinda agree.
Franky is top 3 for me, not in strength or anything, just his whole vibe and how emotional I get when I think of Tom makes his story really appealing to me
Mihawk would never simply join Shanks and his crew as a crewmate, he takes that too seriously. He might travel with them, but he'd never get that tattoo.

About that scissors, papers, rock joke at the beginning: Whenever I go to play Yugioh at my locals and I happened to convince them to play SCR, my first move would always be paper 📄. That way, I can quickly transition into a good gestured handshake 🤝.
So the Chopper thing In my opinion Choppers character arc has been completed since right before the timeskip where he says something like "For you I'll even become a monster Luffy" and that he does. He abandons most of his human characteristics and makes his hybrid cuter as well as his "human" form scarier/less human. He even goes so far as to conquer his monster form. Chopper tried to look human only to get friends in the first place though he failed at looking human since he's a reindeer and that awkward mix of human and reindeer is what made him look scary. But now he has friends, friends he needs to protect and I think in making his character less human and less scary Oda completed Choppers character arc. (That's basically what Liam said but I felt like rambling and stopped the video sry)
Kind of ironic that in trying to become more monstrous, he turned one of his most monstrous forms, Horn Point into a furry humanoid. Chopper has overall lost alot of his monster-qualities. He lost that unique balance of both cute and badass. And that kinda saddens me.
@@MrWhatdafuBOOM I'm sad we lost the original horn point, but I actually love the new one too in a different way. The main reason is I think bc it's the only point that makes him almost look his age (he's 17 in human years) which is kind of cool honestly. It's not too cute and it looks much more streamlined. I just wish we got more monstrous variety in other points. What really saddens me is that kung-fu point is his main choice for fighting (before relying on monster), and it's not only the weakest design-wise, but the laziest in concept. Wish we saw his other points more often, especially heavy point since it essentially absorbed arm point into itself. Also Monster point should've remained speechless, with him just being able to differentiate friend from foe.
Theory: Kanjuro showing Oden several times will have an unintended effect later on. Monosuke growing up, the ninja girl was crying saying he looked like someone, that someone may be Oden, and the similarity might be so, that the vasals may attack him thinking it's Kanjuro.
I thought it was fair to assume that bounties are more of a double as a literature device indicating a character's position in the world and perhaps their power level as well. While in-world characters also do recognize bounties it's always felt like it's more for the reader to measure our main characters via feats.
I liked everything about Fishman Island but Hody. His character was the James Bond villain "I am evil now hear my evil genious plan and IT is nothing you can do about it." of One Piece. A plan in how he would manipulate fishmen into joining his crusade against the humans. He reveal they have no reason to hate humans because it was him all the time. It only served as an excuse for Shirahoshi to reveal she knew all along but ruined his character. No future revealation will change that he went against his own character trait and did an action only because the plot line required an excuse for Shirahoshi to admit knowing she knew all along for everyone to hear.
I never understood the raid failure talk. The raid failing would destroy tokis prophecy, odins will, and make the samurais time jump pointless. It would waste pretty much the entire new world's overarching plot that started in punk hazard.
The raid failing only means this first attempt failed not taking out kaido and freeing wano in general. It’s like the fight with CP9 in Water seven Strawhats lose there but win eventually in Enies Lobby. Same here raid fails, maybe Marines fight with Kaido Strawhats an Samurai have to deal with the defeat in the Meantime … struggle … Charakter development … and then they regroup an fight Kaido again win and everything u said is not a problem. (This is without discussing if this will happen only my understanding of the raid failing theory)
You can fail in something and win when you try again... And about the toki thing, she said 20 years from now, she never mentioned one single day, if they get defeated and then defeat kaido in the same year or in another week or two.. Nothing changes🤷♀️... We just get more emotional moments plus a little more serious and giving some more emotional depth for SHs. Ryt now there is nooo fear in any person that luffy is gonna fail. We and straw hats should be more afraid of the enemy, i mean where is the tension?? The drama? Is this gonna be a plain arc with no critical low point?.. Don't show luffy getting defeated as a low point, that happens in almost every arc... There is certain moments like robin captured and taken by cp9 in water7 or the last moments in sabaody... Without tension, yes you can create story, but it won't have as much impact as it would if you have tension and drama.
@@ramon3hb that's the gist, yeah. It's not comparable to water seven, though, as the goal of water seven wasn't to defeat CP9. The goal of wano is the raid and freeing wano. In the meta context, having two archs in a row with the same goal would just be spinning wheels for half a decade. Odas a genius but I can't help but think that it would sour a decade of new world plot. The straw hats winning and then a Kuma/thriller bark curve ball always seemed more likely (and more and more imminent) with the already existing thriller bark parallels.
I like how, the in universe perception, is that crocodile tried to copy everything about doffy’s plan , crew, and style , but failed due to our favorite condom person .
Hello, new to the fleet! Considering how Sanji is currently developing an absolutely massive power-up, I don't see him ever getting Conqueror's haki. Feels like armament + G66 technology is enough to replace it. Also, Skypea was always my favorite arc, it really felt like the first time you see nothing is impossible on the Grand Line. Also found the story of Norland Montblanc, and the way Luffy 'solves' it, very moving.
I actually really enjoy Boa because I like her character, design and inspiration (Gorgons are cool as hell). She arguably may not do as much as she should in the story but her backstory and ties to Fisher Tiger as well as her reason for who she is today just makes me love her more

I think Buggy will be "saved" by Blackbeard and forced into his crew because he wants the bracelet that leads to captain John's treasure ( we heard to much about it for Oda not to do anything with it and i feel like it's the only way to include it now). Blackbeard is a Xebec fanboy and maybe johnny boy hid something like xebecs body (they have Moria with them) or his fruit or the last Poneglyph

I was thinking it could maybe be a mold of Roger making a funny face and once luffy puts his strawhat on top of it it unlocks a secret passage to the treasure that he left. As well as some kind of international transponder snail so luffy can shout and tell the world he is the new pirate king
About the Rock, Paper, Scissors bit at the start of the video. Scissors is psychologically speaking the worst decision to make in the first round of rock paper scissors. In the first round people are almost NEVER going to pick paper, they will subconsciously pick either rock or scissors at about a 40:60 ratio. Therefore, rock is the best possible choice for the first round because even though it seems like you're being predictable the chance of you losing is slim to none

Obviously, if it was in terms of character, he is one stair above Carrot. He continuously disobeyed Whitebeard for revenge, he hated Roger because of stories he heard, he acted tough and was a crybaby, he threw the chance at life and Luffy's efforts into the trash can because Akainu talked bad about Whitebeard. Sabo on the other hand is an amazing character, which is not liked even a slight bit for his stereotypical powers.

I could not agree more with your opinion on Kanjuro. He’s such a good villain. So many episodes building him up as a good guy, just for him to shove the betrayal in your face constantly. It’s not even enough that he says he was acting the whole time. He also paints a picture of Oden to torment his former allies. Just absolutely brutal.
Mihawk won't be a crew member. It would be more like Law hanging out with Strawhats. I mean if Mihawk joined Shanks then the balance will get disturbed. Wtf Two Yonko strength in One Crew ... 😐 Also It wouldn't make sense for a fully pledged Crew mate...it would be just hanging around.
ben beckman is stated to be almost as strong as shanks though so make that 3 if mihawk joins. Shanks already has the strongest crew in one piece, however that's not to say he HIMSELF is the strongest.

But as I said Mihawk won't be a Crewmate he will just be with them. Mihawk sees shanks as someone equal or below him. That's why.
Thing is, Franky's one of my favourite Strawhats personality, backstory and role wise and has lots of potential - it's just unfortunate that he joined the crew so relatively late that he doesn't/hasn't been able to get the screen/page time. I mean, Franky's intro arc was primarily focused on Robin; while in comparison Brook got Thriller Bark and Jimbe got to be alongside Luffy for Marineford as well as being highly relevant on Fishman Island and Whole Cake Island. Heck, if you really want to argue it, then Franky also shares Water Seven/Enies lobby with Merry's greatest moment. Fortunately, he's never really been ignored either, as in if he's present in an arc he always gets some cool moments
Chopoer should have a 100% human form having the human fruit just like all the other zoan users have their natural form, hybrid form and devil fruit creature form
I think he does, but looking at every other Zoan user you'll see they keep their hair in their full animal form. Chopper just happens to have hair everywhere so he turns into a man with fur.
With regards to the raid failing, even though they were wrong I think the most recent chapter proved their thought process was correct. Just their conclusion was wrong. Their whole point was, despite its length, having Luffy just beat Kaido here an resolve the arc would be unsatisfying for such an anticipated story. So they thought the crew would suffer a set back, and the raid would fail. Now we see that isn't quite the case. The raid will likely succeed. But they weren't wrong about the crew suffering a setback which they need to overcome. Its just not Kaido, its the World Government. 1028 shows that the WG have dispatched a fleet to annex Wano and kidnap Robin should Kaido fall. The alliance will be exhausted by that point and taken off guard. The result of which could be catastrophic. This is the setback Morj and the raid failers were waiting for. Right thought process, wrong prediction.
I genuinely hope we get to see Mihawk fight the navy, last time we saw him he was grabbing his blade and saying “it’s been a while since I’ve been hunted” all while smiling. Meaning he’s getting ready to fight, PLEASE ODA show this to us and not just the aftermath

@@benamv3943 yeah they both have the capacity for it. Also sanji would be the first character to have the stare kanji used in one piece and not also have conquerors. Its almost identical to Zoro's kanji used before Ashura and the exact same as Luffys when Sanji is in the bathhouse.
But he did not do it for the bounty he did it to become warlord which was necessary to his plan so still bounties are kinda pointless in story plot. Although they are not actually pointless The bounty revelation hypes the new characters and even more important give us a feeling of satisfaction at the end of arcs when we see strawhat crew bounties rise but still that is not related to story plot much. Even though there were no bounties not much would have changed in the story plot but endings would feel less rewarding.

Even though someone wanted money there are more easier ways to get money than beating a 500M+ pirate. And that someone is not going to be like blackbeard thats for sure Most probably that someone would be a Robinhood kinda figure or something like that. I saw a scene pre reverie where revolutionary army commanders beat a 70M berry bounty pirate and tell people to hand him over to marine to collect bounty so thats the possibility. But still my point stands that one piece is close to its end and there is no such strong character introduced till now whose main motivation is collecting money (may be doflamingo to some extent but even his ultimate motive was to have more influence in the underworld and he found way more efficient ways to gather money than collecting bounties ).

I think the bounty system kind of works because it quantifies the threat level a pirate or revolutionary poses, estimated by the WG. This numerical system allows the public to recognize which pirate is a simple threat and which ones are legendary, even if the bounties aren't pursued.
My bet is on Buggy becoming a Yonko rather than joining Shanks. He's been built up very well ever since Impel Down through the numerous misunderstandings by those around him. He is very much the Hercule of One Piece.
i say buggy's going to be one of the remaining powers after wano. Shanks and blackbeard are both major powers. The marines and the world government are still here. but out of the six forces in one piece, blackbeard, shanks, big mom, kaido, the world gov, and finally the revolutionary army, at least 2 are going to be destroyed by wano's end, possibly three if you believe that the revolutionaries were defeated at the reverie. just like blackbeard filled the power void of whitebeard, someone has to fill the power void of kaido and big mom. Luffy is clearly going to be one of the new emperors, but who else is going to be added to the ranks. out of everyone, Dragon and the remains of the revolutionary army, Buggy and his massive trade? empire, and boa hancock are really the only options. each of them, assuming the revolutionaries were defeated, are out in the open, having lost their current place in the world. perhaps marco is an option, and katakuri could take over the remains of the big mom pirates, but other then that there really arent any options left. marco still needs to protect whitebeards hometown, and the big mom pirates would probably be too weak after this ark. hancock still has her island, and dragon isn't a pirate. that leaves buggy as the only real option
I always wondered how bounty collection went down, if a pirate is bringing in a pirate is there some kind of truce so they can give the pirate grab the bounty and leave without a fight? Law almost answered this but then he became a Warlord afterwards.
At this point I see two options for our Spanish inquisitor looking swordsman: 1. The Death of Dracule Mihawk: Perona would eventually find moriah on blackbeard's home turf. If captured or escaped she would request a rescue from the swordsman. Mihawk would arrive only to be slaying by shiryu of the rain and resurrected as a zombie. Zoro gets to fight shiryu to avenge Mihawk, we get a final battle between master and student and zoro achieves his dream. 2. Mihawk joins Shanks: Eventually the world government is gonna send some heavy hitters to round up the warlords. Whither Shanks approaches him first or vise versa this will lead to the former rivals turned nykama
Emperors having bounties is counterintuitive because they're part of the world power structure; the benefit of having one out of action is overriden by the chaos that comes with a power vacuum needing to be filled.

You're right though; I'm certainly not a failure proponent of any sort, but I had thought the Blackbeard war would be Oda's way of a "no holds barred" all-out war - that would be a good time for failure to come. But One Piece isnt necessarily that sort of series (in the way that JJK is).
I never thought about the raid failing because I wanted the serie to be "gritty" or "dark", its quite the opposite. If luffys alliance wins here, well it would be great, but if they really have to struggle and make sacrifaces to get that win I think that would be much more hopeful and inspiring. I think that best one piece arcs to this day follow the simple structure of "making a plan - failure - win against all odds" like water seven, arabastra, impel down of even marineford where luffy didnt win at all
one aspect of bounties i find people forget is that many nations in the grand line are part of the world government. naturally these governments will have an eye out for wanted criminals and are incentivized by the bounties to turn any pirates found in their nation into the world government etc. though there aren’t single bounty hunters that can bring in certain prolific pirates, simply being wanted with a high bounty will have the marines constantly on your tail due to their global presence
Honestly, I’m still not fully convinced the raid will succeed. There have been way way too many red flags. Hyogoro: “I honestly don’t feel like we can lose” Kaido: “The problem with defeat is so few can accept it when it arrives.” Oda is way too good a writer to be dropping lines like that for no reason. Maybe they serve some other purpose other than foreshadowing the raid failing, but until Act 3 ends, I’m not convinced.
They do be quite casual about how they'll win. Another event might rise the dramatic tension with the raid not failing but I am opened to both outcomes.
I think given the last chapter it will probably be something like the raid will succeed but the marines will take over wano and the strawhats will have to escape as they're too injured to fight. Id recommend watching Tekkings video on it

However, said tension doesn't necessarily have to be that (although I do think that's the most likely scenario, would make since and give the crew an opportunity to regrouo and reorganize and hopefully exoerience actual growth).
Raid will not fail . Its 100% Toki already said after 20 years wano will be free. And she does not need to run after. She saw future and wish to die along with oden.
To clarify, people that think the raid will fail don't believe that the straw hats won't win by the end of the arc. They think the raid failure will be the emotional low point of the arc and they will have to defy odds and work their butts off to pull through.
Mihawk could make sense. If they wanted to do a sort of Multiple Straw Hats facing off against their mentor/rivals when they battle the Red Hair Pirates. Maybe no have him join but have him be there and taking part.

I think franky is SUPER underrated. His backstory is probably one of the better ones on the crew and he’s underrated power wise as well. Also he’s hilarious.
Yeah the thing I love about his backstory is that it was his fault for what happened, different from the other straw hats
Franky is strong but how he gets his strength is very different compared to almost every other person.
Instead of practicing kicks, lifting weights, or mastering haki, he instead tinkers. This is very rare in one piece and, in my opinion, not as noble as training ones body.
He is very powerful but his method of obtaining it doesn't feel very cool in comparison.

I agree my 2nd favorite SH is kinda underrated. His showings in Wano, make me feel like he doesnt improve at all since the timeskip bcoz we all knew he was capable of that. He destroyed a door that Sanji cant destroy in Punk Hazard. Also we didnt really see him go all out vs Senor Pink only on hand to hand
@@Dave_The_Musical_Fisherman Franky doesn’t really tinkers. I mean, he does but he was always building ships and weapons and then later deconstructing them. Usopp is more of a tinkerer in that sense. Maybe Franky wasn’t working out in a conventional way but doing what he did is a lot of work so you do still gain strength. Look at the Galley-La Company shipwrights and how buff they are. And the amount of stamina both Iceburg and Franky had building Sunny. Plus he lived in the slums so he’s used to fighting.
Buggy making his way to Shanks honestly makes a lot of sense to me. Mihawk also makes sense, however I think he'd be good on his own. Buggy might not be.
If anything i feel that buggy will somehow get the remnants of the beast pirates to rebuild the ay he picked up a bunch of prisoners
I feel like Buggy would be much better doing his own thing. There's a clear disparity between him and Shanks and his arc would be better if he somehow gets success in his own silly way rather than wagon-riding on Shanks.
I always think that mihawk is shanks secret allies.
Always thought Zoro would fight Mihawk in the final fight against the government. But now that he's not on this side anymore, it makes at least sense for Mihawk to be with Shanks when the Straw Hats will meet him. Luffy does want to defeat all emperors, so I guess we might get Shanks vs. Luffy and Zoro vs. Mihawk at the same time, as neither of them are antagonists.

just realized, that if Edward Weevil"s mother is smart, then she would transfer his status from warlord (who is a pirate) to a bounty hunter, that way one piece can have an actual non-pirate bounty hunter with enough power to capture pirates at least in the 100 million to 500 million range. this way Weevil and Bakkin can escape the ssg and marines while still earning money which is what Bakkin most likely cares about more than anything.

Shanks and Mihawk's relationship reminds me of Luffy and Law's relationship. They are allies, one captain is chaotic and the other one is the serious guy, but they somehow work well together.

As an arc villain perhaps Doflamingo is better. But I think Croc is way more interesting to me exactly because of that. The way he carries himself like a mob boss and his arc from being a villain to somewhat anti hero-ish. I love 3rd party characters that have own motives aside from just joining the 2 main big sides. Short temporary alliances, unpredictable and upholding a bit of respect for opponents/chivalrous. Including trying to save Luffy from Akainu etc. He's just way more intriguing to me. Doflamingo didn't really answer many questions that should've been answered imo and ultimately just served as a big bad wall. Still learnt almost nothing about world nobles's secret etc. Just Rebecca +Kyros /Doffy conflict.
I just love any character that carries themselves like a mob boss.

I will never understand the whole "Once the thing is not a mystery it's not interesting anymore" mentality. The point of a mystery is for it to be solved, so when I get the "solution" (and it's good) I feel satisfied not bored or w/e. Like, do you just want stories that are all set up no pay off? I dont get it.
Exactly why I hate when people get so uptight about spoilers as if the only thing good about a series is just a plot twist and not the art, characters, direction, writing, cinematography etc.
Once the thing is not a mystery it's not interesting anymore -> this really applies to mysteries that were unsatisfactory to the reader in question...its highly subjective. But things like the mystery of what is the Force in Star Wars was universally disliked. There are mysteries that can be solved and ones that should be left ambiguous but again its subjective to the individual reader.
So after that "solved mystery" satisfaction, what comes after then?

I always loved skypia, it was definitely like a break from progression at that point. But the comedy and drive was so great. And we were exploring apart of the one piece world that so few actually knew of in the one piece world.

Enel (eneru) was also unique. Not a pirate or a navy agent. Enel just does what he wants. He also has one of the most busted DF, a quick mind, and a unique goal. He was strange in how he personally fought the whole crew. His minions were literally just entertainment for him since he planned on killing them anyway. He didn't even want to rule over people
You just spoke my mind as well. I think Skypiea was the arc that really showed me how much potential Luffy has in future chapter. We wouldnt have Luffy singing his island song without Skypiea xD

Honestly, I always thought that someone like Capone Bege would have worked better as not a straigh up pirate. Given him being inspired by the most famous mafioso ever and his main drive being to kill famous pirates he would have made more sense being the leader of an underground/sea assassin brotherhood or something like that, that mostly focuses on hunting pirates for the bounty money.
Bounty Hunters really is the only part of the One Piece worlds that is really missing.

I love Kanjuro. The concept of someone getting numbed down emotionally to a point at which that person only defines themselves by their work is certainly something and using it for an actor is a perfect combination.
That bit of Kiku being unable to comprehend this mentality was also genius as it helped us understanding her a bit more.
I also just loved when it was revealed just how much he hid his true abilities all that time.
The buggy pirates could easily become a subordinate crew to the red hair pirates. We don't see much of the red hair pirates, but I never got the impression they were that big a crew - I'd imagine they're the smallest of the four emperor crews. If the Red Hair Pirates are gonna get more involved in the story, or take on Blackbeard, it'd make sense narratively for them to get an influx of manpower. Buggy has that on offer.

I always thought the idea behind bounties was to prevent alliances among the enemies of the WG. Its purpose was to keep them paranoid and breed the thought that they "always end in betrayal".
Before the timeskip franky was definitely my favorite character. After the timeskip and he got those freakishly massive arms and a shaved head. He went down quite a bit for me

I think bounties are useful from a narrative perspective, similar to power levels in Dragon Ball or duelist levels in Yugioh. They are meant to showcase the threat level of an enemy. For example, when Croc was revealed to have had a bounty of 80M before becoming a Warlord, it made him look like an impossible to overcome threat compared to Luffy at a meager 30M at the time.
Crocodile also made Luffy look like a joke in direct combat twice. That helped make him look like an impossibly dire threat.
Bounties in OP work fine, but speaking as a life-long Dragon Ball fan, power levels are a fucking blight on storytelling

I never understood the hate for the skypia arc, it was the arc that got me into one piece. The library only had the skypia arc on cd so I watched it over and over again.
It's deemed as a filler since it feels out of place in the story and nobody joined the crew, even though it's actually a character arc for Robin right after she joined Straw Hats (which was needed to raise the stakes for Water 7 arc) and made for world building purposes. It also was a training arc for Chopper, helped Usopp learn new tricks via dials, introduced the battle royale-styled fight structure in OP and it made us believe Luffy was able to beat logia users, which is why Luffy's defeat against Aokiji felt so much more soul-crushing.
As well as fishman Island I don't really get why people knock on that one as well

Other humans/zoan users's full zoan form aren't in any way related to their human form barring some very slight stuff like facial hair. A phoenix is just a phoenix, doesn't really have any resemblance to marco. The only zoan user I can think of whose full zoan form has so much resemblance to the user is only chopper.
Chopper not being able to turn into a human would be like if any of the bird zoan forms are all featherless.

Teach is stronger now, but that's Shanks and Mihawk right there; that's almost like Kaido and Big Mom going against Teach in a 2v1, they're going to obliterate him. He abandons most of his human characteristics and makes his hybrid cuter as well as his "human" form scarier/less human. He even goes so far as to conquer his monster form. Chopper tried to look human only to get friends in the first place though he failed at looking human since he's a reindeer and that awkward mix of human and reindeer is what made him look scary. But now he has friends, friends he needs to protect and I think in making his character less human and less scary Oda completed Choppers character arc.

Kind of ironic that in trying to become more monstrous, he turned one of his most monstrous forms, Horn Point into a furry humanoid. Chopper has overall lost alot of his monster-qualities. He lost that unique balance of both cute and badass. And that kinda saddens me.

The main reason is I think bc it's the only point that makes him almost look his age (he's 17 in human years) which is kind of cool honestly. It's not too cute and it looks much more streamlined. I just wish we got more monstrous variety in other points. What really saddens me is that kung-fu point is his main choice for fighting (before relying on monster), and it's not only the weakest design-wise, but the laziest in concept. Wish we saw his other points more often, especially heavy point since it essentially absorbed arm point into itself. Also Monster point should've remained speechless, with him just being able to differentiate friend from foe.

Theory: Kanjuro showing Oden several times will have an unintended effect later on. Monosuke growing up, the ninja girl was crying saying he looked like someone, that someone may be Oden, and the similarity might be so, that the vasals may attack him thinking it's Kanjuro.
I thought it was fair to assume that bounties are more of a double as a literature device indicating a character's position in the world and perhaps their power level as well. While in-world characters also do recognize bounties it's always felt like it's more for the reader to measure our main characters via feats.
Of course that is why. But it's still kind of bad writing for them to be so meaningless in the actual world

I liked everything about Fishman Island but Hody.
His character was the James Bond villain "I am evil now hear my evil genious plan and IT is nothing you can do about it." of One Piece.
A plan in how he would manipulate fishmen into joining his crusade against the humans. He reveal they have no reason to hate humans because it was him all the time. It only served as an excuse for Shirahoshi to reveal she knew all along but ruined his character. No future revealation will change that he went against his own character trait and did an action only because the plot line required an excuse for Shirahoshi to admit knowing she knew all along for everyone to hear.
I agree everyone hates Fishman island but really the only downside is Hody.

I never understood the raid failure talk. The raid failing would destroy tokis prophecy, odins will, and make the samurais time jump pointless. It would waste pretty much the entire new world's overarching plot that started in punk hazard.
The raid failing only means this first attempt failed not taking out kaido and freeing wano in general.

And about the toki thing, she said 20 years from now, she never mentioned one single day, if they get defeated and then defeat kaido in the same year or in another week or two.. Nothing changes🤷♀️... We just get more emotional moments plus a little more serious and giving some more emotional depth for SHs. Ryt now there is nooo fear in any person that luffy is gonna fail. We and straw hats should be more afraid of the enemy, i mean where is the tension?? The drama? Is this gonna be a plain arc with no critical low point?.. Don't show luffy getting defeated as a low point, that happens in almost every arc... There is certain moments like robin captured and taken by cp9 in water7 or the last moments in sabaody... Without tension, yes you can create story, but it won't have as much impact as it would if you have tension and drama.

In the meta context, having two archs in a row with the same goal would just be spinning wheels for half a decade. Odas a genius but I can't help but think that it would sour a decade of new world plot. The straw hats winning and then a Kuma/thriller bark curve ball always seemed more likely (and more and more imminent) with the already existing thriller bark parallels.

Hello, new to the fleet! Considering how Sanji is currently developing an absolutely massive power-up, I don't see him ever getting Conqueror's haki. Feels like armament + G66 technology is enough to replace it.
Also, Skypea was always my favorite arc, it really felt like the first time you see nothing is impossible on the Grand Line. Also found the story of Norland Montblanc, and the way Luffy 'solves' it, very moving.

About the Rock, Paper, Scissors bit at the start of the video. Scissors is psychologically speaking the worst decision to make in the first round of rock paper scissors. In the first round people are almost NEVER going to pick paper, they will subconsciously pick either rock or scissors at about a 40:60 ratio. Therefore, rock is the best possible choice for the first round because even though it seems like you're being predictable the chance of you losing is slim to none

I loved fish-man island, it was amazing to see how everyone had become stronger after the timeskip.
Thing is, Franky's one of my favourite Strawhats personality, backstory and role wise and has lots of potential - it's just unfortunate that he joined the crew so relatively late that he doesn't/hasn't been able to get the screen/page time. I mean, Franky's intro arc was primarily focused on Robin; while in comparison Brook got Thriller Bark and Jimbe got to be alongside Luffy for Marineford as well as being highly relevant on Fishman Island and Whole Cake Island. Heck, if you really want to argue it, then Franky also shares Water Seven/Enies lobby with Merry's greatest moment. Fortunately, he's never really been ignored either, as in if he's present in an arc he always gets some cool moments

I think he does, but looking at every other Zoan user you'll see they keep their hair in their full animal form. Chopper just happens to have hair everywhere so he turns into a man with fur.
With regards to the raid failing, even though they were wrong I think the most recent chapter proved their thought process was correct. Just their conclusion was wrong.
Their whole point was, despite its length, having Luffy just beat Kaido here an resolve the arc would be unsatisfying for such an anticipated story. So they thought the crew would suffer a set back, and the raid would fail.
Now we see that isn't quite the case. The raid will likely succeed. But they weren't wrong about the crew suffering a setback which they need to overcome. Its just not Kaido, its the World Government. 1028 shows that the WG have dispatched a fleet to annex Wano and kidnap Robin should Kaido fall. The alliance will be exhausted by that point and taken off guard. The result of which could be catastrophic. This is the setback Morj and the raid failers were waiting for. Right thought process, wrong prediction.

@@benamv3943 yeah they both have the capacity for it. Also sanji would be the first character to have the stare kanji used in one piece and not also have conquerors. Its almost identical to Zoro's kanji used before Ashura and the exact same as Luffys when Sanji is in the bathhouse.

Although they are not actually pointless The bounty revelation hypes the new characters and even more important give us a feeling of satisfaction at the end of arcs when we see strawhat crew bounties rise but still that is not related to story plot much. Even though there were no bounties not much would have changed in the story plot but endings would feel less rewarding.

Even though someone wanted money there are more easier ways to get money than beating a 500M+ pirate. And that someone is not going to be like blackbeard thats for sure Most probably that someone would be a Robinhood kinda figure or something like that. I saw a scene pre reverie where revolutionary army commanders beat a 70M berry bounty pirate and tell people to hand him over to marine to collect bounty so thats the possibility. But still my point stands that one piece is close to its end and there is no such strong character introduced till now whose main motivation is collecting money (may be doflamingo to some extent but even his ultimate motive was to have more influence in the underworld and he found way more efficient ways to gather money than collecting bounties ).

@@ahmadabdullah2009 Blackbeard wanted to capture a "high bounty" in order to prove his value to the navy. He did not do it for the money, but the bounty still wasn't pointless. It is an indicator of how much the government values a target. Luffy having a high bounty was the only reason Blackbeard decided to target him.

I think the bounty system kind of works because it quantifies the threat level a pirate or revolutionary poses, estimated by the WG. This numerical system allows the public to recognize which pirate is a simple threat and which ones are legendary, even if the bounties aren't pursued.
My bet is on Buggy becoming a Yonko rather than joining Shanks. He's been built up very well ever since Impel Down through the numerous misunderstandings by those around him. He is very much the Hercule of One Piece.
i say buggy's going to be one of the remaining powers after wano. Shanks and blackbeard are both major powers. The marines and the world government are still here. but out of the six forces in one piece, blackbeard, shanks, big mom, kaido, the world gov, and finally the revolutionary army, at least 2 are going to be destroyed by wano's end, possibly three if you believe that the revolutionaries were defeated at the reverie. just like blackbeard filled the power void of whitebeard, someone has to fill the power void of kaido and big mom. Luffy is clearly going to be one of the new emperors, but who else is going to be added to the ranks. out of everyone, Dragon and the remains of the revolutionary army, Buggy and his massive trade? empire, and boa hancock are really the only options. each of them, assuming the revolutionaries were defeated, are out in the open, having lost their current place in the world. perhaps marco is an option, and katakuri could take over the remains of the big mom pirates, but other then that there really arent any options left. marco still needs to protect whitebeards hometown, and the big mom pirates would probably be too weak after this ark. hancock still has her island, and dragon isn't a pirate. that leaves buggy as the only real option
I always wondered how bounty collection went down, if a pirate is bringing in a pirate is there some kind of truce so they can give the pirate grab the bounty and leave without a fight? Law almost answered this but then he became a Warlord afterwards.
At this point I see two options for our Spanish inquisitor looking swordsman:
1. The Death of Dracule Mihawk: Perona would eventually find moriah on blackbeard's home turf. If captured or escaped she would request a rescue from the swordsman. Mihawk would arrive only to be slaying by shiryu of the rain and resurrected as a zombie. Zoro gets to fight shiryu to avenge Mihawk, we get a final battle between master and student and zoro achieves his dream.
2. Mihawk joins Shanks: Eventually the world government is gonna send some heavy hitters to round up the warlords. Whither Shanks approaches him first or vise versa this will lead to the former rivals turned nykama
Emperors having bounties is counterintuitive because they're part of the world power structure; the benefit of having one out of action is overriden by the chaos that comes with a power vacuum needing to be filled.

You're right though; I'm certainly not a failure proponent of any sort, but I had thought the Blackbeard war would be Oda's way of a "no holds barred" all-out war - that would be a good time for failure to come. But One Piece isnt necessarily that sort of series (in the way that JJK is).

I never thought about the raid failing because I wanted the serie to be "gritty" or "dark", its quite the opposite. If luffys alliance wins here, well it would be great, but if they really have to struggle and make sacrifaces to get that win I think that would be much more hopeful and inspiring. I think that best one piece arcs to this day follow the simple structure of "making a plan - failure - win against all odds" like water seven, arabastra, impel down of even marineford where luffy didnt win at all

one aspect of bounties i find people forget is that many nations in the grand line are part of the world government. naturally these governments will have an eye out for wanted criminals and are incentivized by the bounties to turn any pirates found in their nation into the world government etc. though there aren’t single bounty hunters that can bring in certain prolific pirates, simply being wanted with a high bounty will have the marines constantly on your tail due to their global presence
Honestly, I’m still not fully convinced the raid will succeed. There have been way way too many red flags.

Oda is way too good a writer to be dropping lines like that for no reason. Maybe they serve some other purpose other than foreshadowing the raid failing, but until Act 3 ends, I’m not convinced.
They do be quite casual about how they'll win. Another event might rise the dramatic tension with the raid not failing but I am opened to both outcomes.
I think given the last chapter it will probably be something like the raid will succeed but the marines will take over wano and the strawhats will have to escape as they're too injured to fight. Id recommend watching Tekkings video on it

However, said tension doesn't necessarily have to be that (although I do think that's the most likely scenario, would make since and give the crew an opportunity to regrouo and reorganize and hopefully exoerience actual growth).
