It's unbelievable how two of the most likable people to ever play in Millionaire - him and Nancy - made their appearances back to back, went very far and had such inspiring backstories to share. Really incredible and moving.
Meredith Vieira almost had back-to-back millionaires on the syndicated version, but instead had back-to-back first question fail outs on the clock format.
Winning 500k on Syndicated Millionaire is an INCREDIBLE achievement. With so many difficult questions compared to Primetime, this show really tested one's brain and knowledge depth. And what an amazing personality as well!!!
Armand makes me proud to be a unique Armenian American. He demonstrates that goofy yet distinguished vibe some of us embody. My dad was on Price is Right in the early 90's. It was similar to Armand's stage presence. Armenian men make the finest jesters on this planet. We float through life whimsically enjoying the fruits of opportunistic silliness. I'm team Eric for spiritual reasons. I love Armand equally for the ethnic nostalgia.
This is actually the second time that this happened. The first time that this happened was with Drew Carey and Rosie O’Donnell on a celebrity edition of Millionaire back in 2000
At 3:38 I felt like he was trying to get some sort of hint from Meredith. I would not have had the stones to risk that much on an educated guess. Well deserved!
I'm not necessarily a cards player either, but I knew you didnt play with jokers in poker watching the WSOP. I've played rummy in the past with friends and dont use jokers. I would've been tied up between euchre and cribbage
@@mrbow50001 I knew Poker was wrong too. And to be honest, I never heard of Euchre or Rummy. But, I have heard of Cribbage. If I had the 50:50 and it left with Euchre and Cribbage or Euchre and Rummy, I would've walked away.
I love being an Oscar nerd - I knew $250,000 cold. Three other facts about the film "Marty". First, it's one of only three films to win both the Palme d'Or and the Academy Award for Best Picture (the others are The Lost Weekend, which technically wasn't called the Palme d'Or back then, and Parasite). Second, it's the shortest Best Picture winner Oscar in history, at exactly ninety minutes. Lastly, the film was apparently made solely as a tax write-off for the production company.
As someone who grew up with a family of card sharks, I wish I could have been in the Hot Seat for that $500,000 question. It really does make sense if you know the game of Euchre. Every deck of cards I've played with that had Jokers in it had two of them - one in color and one in black and white. In Euchre, there are two specific cards called "Bowers" that trump everything else in the game - the Jack of the trump suit (the Right Bower) and the Jack of the opposite suit of the same color as the trump suit (the Left Bower). So I would guess that the Jokers in the alternate version of the game would function as the Bowers.
Francisco Rodriguez I think you’re right. I thought maybe Meredith misheard him cause it sounded like “couldn’t” at first, but I think he said “coulda.”
Meredith could dish it but apparently couldn't take it, when Armand duped her. She clearly didn't appreciate that, and when Armand is actually serious here 3:38, Meredith looks pissed and doesn't trust him one iota. The look on both their faces after he said that was hilarious
Not exactly the most logical, just the one that stood out to me the most. I feel proud that my guess would have been right, even if it was just a guess.
@Sashinator0 Well, she is the last to answer fifteen question correctly, but we have had another correct million dollar question answered correctly. It was answered by Sam Murray, who went on to win the Tournament of Ten and win $1 million.
1. Meat inspector (Kevin Smith, Syndicated - Samuel Wilson, the basis of the "Uncle Sam" icon, held what profession during the War of 1812?) 2. His dentist (Nancy Christy, Syndicated - Who was the model for the farmer in Grant Wood's "American Gothic"?) 3. Johannes Kepler (Robert Essig, Super Millionaire - What scientist first determined that human sight results from images projected onto the retina?) 4. 100 billion (Sam Murray, Syndicated, Tournament of 10 Winner - Approximately how many people have ever lived on Earth?
Honestly stunned that his $500,000 question was so easy, I guess syndicated millionaire didn't really tighten down the purse strings and make the last 2 questions Nintendo hard until after the first season.
I wouldn't count Sam Murray as a true millionaire winner because he didn't answer all 15 questions In fact in the tournament there was only one person to see all of their questions

@@Frankie-O One of them missed their second question.
Lorraine Puleo got her second question wrong; the punctuation mark colon is commonly used to introduce a list of items.

@@Frankie-O really? didn't know this tbh

Yep, that's a record on the show- 29 straight correct answers.
💯✅
The only time consecutive contestants saw the million dollar question.
This is actually the second time that this happened. The first time that this happened was with Drew Carey and Rosie O’Donnell on a celebrity edition of Millionaire back in 2000
Nancy Christy was the first and only female to become a millionaire which Mary Burke would've been, but she left her all alone.
Until tonight
Norm MacDonald got PWNED after being talked out of winning $1,000,000.
That million dollar question was at least 5x harder than Nancy Christy's.
😰
At 3:38 I felt like he was trying to get some sort of hint from Meredith. I would not have had the stones to risk that much on an educated guess. Well deserved!
Same here
Only on the syndicated version have we been 1 question away from having back-to-back millionaires!
Drew Carey and Rosie O'Donnell were on the primetime version, they both walked away back-to-back and would've been wrong.
The only time we got to see 2 CONSECUTIVE MILLION DOLLAR QUESTIONS on the US version of Millionaire.
David Goodman came back for another $1,000,000 on the primetime version and missed on the $32,000 question.
@@Frankie-O I think you're confusing him with either Joe Trela or Dan Blonsky
Armand I love you Bro great job finally got to see it, you were great.
👏
1:43 *SNAP* Get off this set, right now you little- I'll give you!!
Armand! Let's go for $500,000. Why don't we?
I know this guy, he is a friend of my dads and is very cool.
The Marvelous Mastermind Behind The Movies I know someone who looks just like Joe Vegas. Not a podiatrist, but an AT&T worker. Close enough. 😂
🆒
Since I'm not really a card player, I had no idea on that $500,000 question. If that was me during that moment, I would've walked away.

If Armand didn't with that money? He'd quit.

Great, ballsy playing. I hope he didn't blow it all in Vegas.

I don't think he did, he hosts the Surreal talk podcast, I'm guessing the money helped him have the time to do that.
the audience was so quiet when he won $500.000.

$468,000 went up to $475,000 when the format changed plus introducing new lifelines.
