Proud of you I myself getting help as I am going through this unfortunate disease. Just waiting on detox and rehabilitation. Proud of everyone who conquer this burden. God loves us 🙏
Tristan is a natural in front of the camera, he has a very attractive voice. I would also like to congratulate him on his sobriety...the wonderful life you will have will make it all worthwhile ❤
Grief can hit you anytime Aaron. I still have days many years later for my daughter. I found that doing something to celebrate her on the anniversary can help. I have written her poems n have released balloons for her to play with just as examples. I hope that helps. Please knoe you are not alone in dealing with grief. Hugs
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's unimaginable grief. Have you seen the lanterns you can use in place of balloons? They're environmentally friendly. Maybe your daughter would enjoy the lights, too. 😊
We l our son to cancer in October, he would have been 45 in November. I lost my dad in June. It has been unbearable. My husband and I found a support group . GriefShare. If you google it the classes are offered all across the nation. It has really us.
I absolutely adore this family, it feels like more of a family than mine is these days. Thank you for showing up constantly and being authentic. Happy sobriety Tristan, that’s such a huge accomplishment. Also, being single until the right one comes around is such a great thing, especially nowadays. People do not know how to be independent much these days and it’s a wonderful thing to be able to do that, it’s rare. Aaron, I get that same way about my sister. Certain songs, weather, smells, people, anything, can rush me back to the days she was here. It’s important to feel it and allow for the moment with her energy present to take space, then take a deep breath and continue with this gorgeous life you have built. Cannot wait for more recipes!!
Aaron, I lost my dad in 2014 (I am 52) and I still get emotional at times when I think of him, but I do remember the little things we used to do together, and it makes me smile. I still miss him every day though.
I’m with you. I lost my mom last sept. The holidays are very tuff, especially Christmas. I’m still processing everything. I’m not myself still and everyone notices I know it takes time , just thing on the good times with your mom and how would she want you to react or handle those difficult times that’s what I do. I will keep you in my prayers
@ Thank you and I’ll pray for you and all who are missing someone this year. I’m playing in a community bell choir and we are playing a song that is dedicated to those who are missing someone this year.
Well done Tristan on your sobriety you've got this. Also being from the UK I think you should make our famous Roast Dinner with Yorkshire puddings and lashings of beef gravy. Yorkshire pudding recipe 1 mug of plain flour 1 mug of milk 2 eggs (room temp) Increase for a larger family whisk together but not too much that it has air in it just till combined and let it sit Pour a small amount of veg oil into a cupcake or muffin tin and put in the oven until its really hot the mixture wants to make the oil sizzle when you pour it in. Once mixture is in the cake tins put it back in the oven for a bout 10-15 minutes not sure on your cooking temps so what you would normally cook on the rule is you have to move fast as you don't want to let the oil cool down but once in you can't take them out until they are done else they will deflate. Hope you make this one day xx
Tristan, thoughts and prayers for you on your journey with sobriety - may you continue to succeed 🙏💙 Glad your move has begun - good luck with it all 🤩👍🙏
I HAVE A RECIPE!! 1. make a vinilla cake but before you add the water or or like the liquid add diet coke or just your fav soda like dr pepper then add sprinkles then make the cake how you normally would then just slice it and give everyone a piece!
Tristan you’re doing a great job with learning new ways to have fun and live life without alcohol I k😢now it’s hard to learn a new way but trust me it can be done. I’ve been completely sober for over 28 years and I love life more now then ever. It’s all good just keep doing what you’re doing and stay positive and stick with your family they have your back. and Aaron I think you having your son back in your life is one of the many things I think your mom sent you to help ease your pain. That and Aspen.. I truly love watching all the videos they bring me joy. Sorry for such a long post.. I write from my heart.
Congratulations Tristan. I’m so proud of you. I’m coming up on one year and almost 2 months of sobriety triple addiction quitting smoking Delta eight marijuana drinking and compulsive over eating binge eating. One day at a time we do recover.
Great questions and answers. Yes I like the idea of putting recipes in the comments. Can’t wait for the cookbook to come out. Glad the move is going somewhat smoothly.
This is for Tristan you will keep going strong in being sober I have been so for 2 years now and holidays or even letting go of some friends will get easier You got this .
Congratulations on your sobriety Tristan! Aaron, I've lost both of my parents and I can empathize with how you're feeling about your mom. Sending hugs to both of your through both trials. Have either of you cooked Greek food? Not just baklava, but actual Greek dishes?
Hey guys! Thanks for answering my question once again 😍 and yes Aaron, you said my name correctly, it’s Brazilian and you nailed it!🤘🏻 Happy to hear what dishes you guys are still trying to learn, since you know how to do a lot of them, loved your answers, specially what Tristan said about his being the “simple” version and that was the point of me asking, I was wondering if even you guys had difficulty sometimes on making simple dishes 😅 you both should make a video helping each other to do these dishes, it would be nice to see you succeeding! Love from Br 💕
Aaron grief never leaves- please take time to grieve- maybe if not on the December 17th close to that day- look at pictures- tell the kids stories of when you was younger( before the kids came along)- share your favorite memories of your Mom. Understand others care- please please don't feel like you need to do a vlog around that time. Take time for you- we will be here.Hugs from Michigan
My dad died 17yrs ago 18 in Feb but my mom and dad's wedding anniversary is December 27th my dad made our Christmases growing up, Yr 1 was hard and then after that it got easier but every few years it hits fresh again. But I do the same I'll be watching something or listening to something that reminds me of him and ill just start crying I don't think that ever goes away it's important to let yourself feel those moments and then move on to something positive and not dwell on the sadness for too long or it will consume your day or even longer. ❤❤❤
I love the beyond crazy channel with Tristan in it you guys make such a great team together he seems like such a sweet boy with so much going for himself keep up the great work Tristan your amazing and so talented love watching you grow on the channel ❤
I know its hard to get over your loved one . I lost my daughter in November 25 2016 my dad on march 9th 2018 my mom on September's 13 2019. So yes i do know how you feel. I miss them all so much. Remember there is no time on grief you grieve as long as you want. Love your family . Merry Christmas to your family ❤️❤️❤️
I will keep you in prayer Aaron. I lost my father in December and I still struggle (I was a daddy's girl). Tristan kniw that you have the support of your family and I'm sure many of your internet family praying for you and your sobriety. You can do this. 😊 We have faith in you. Believe in yourself!
Aaron, my dad passed away Dec 6, 2012 and as I watch this it is his anniversary. I would like to tell you it gets easier and sometimes it is. My mom passed away in Aug 2008. I still talk to them and grieve for them all the time. I find talking about them helps so much. I started wearing my mom's family ring which she gave me before she died because I wasn't married and don't plan on it ( at 53 no babies will be seen) and then I realized that the day I started wearing it was their anniversary. I know that they are there with me everyday and that is all I can hope for the rest of my life. Tristan I am so proud of your sobriety and when the right person comes along you will know! I haven't found mine yet but I am not looking lol!
Yay for sleeping in the new house! I’m so excited and happy for y’all! Keto or low carb meals are what we focus on in our house. Would love if you offered recipes/methods for more of those! 😊
I truly understand aaron with the passing of your mom. I lost mine on june 18, 2021, and it is an uphill battle every day to choose happiness. You never get over it, but you learn to cope.
Thank you for the Q&A Aaron and Tristan. Congratulations to Tristan on a year sobriety. Addiction exist in many forms and to many substances or behaviour.
Hi, I’m from Australia 🇦🇺, and this is a quick, easy snack that’s a big part of Aussie tradition. The sausage sanga is iconic, largely thanks to Bunnings BBQs. Bunnings is a hardware stores and they have pop-up BBQs which are set up to raise money for charity, selling sausages sangas for $2. It’s been a beloved tradition for years, and grabbing a sanga while shopping at Bunnings is a must! To recreate it at home, all you need is a slice of bread, butter, a cooked sausage, some fried onions, and a squeeze of tomato sauce. Place the sausage lengthwise on the bread, add the toppings, fold it up and you’ve got yourself a classic Aussie meal. You guys should try this!
Aaron, the 1st year of a death is very hard. Especially the holidays. Both of my parents are in heaven; technically I'm a daddy's girl. But when my mom passed in 2012 it literally broke me. I cried the whole year. Don't rush your healing process. People grieve differently. I'm praying for you as you approach the anniversary date of your mom going to see Jesus. In time the tears will stop randomly flowing. And you will have more happy memories without crying. 💜💜💜
Great episode. Thank you both for being so transparent and real! Congratulations on maintaining your soberiety goals, Tristan.🎉 Yay, that Tristan is going to take the Pettit name. ❤ oh and.. how about teaching us Broccoli Cheese Soup 😊
I feel you Aaron. I’ve just had the first anniversary of my sister passing. She was only 58. It definitely blew up my emotions again. I can say it felt like a bit of a milestone and I feel a little lighter being on the other side of that first anniversary. Sending hugs.
Aaron I told understand how you feel about your mom. My mom passed away 3 yrs in January and with the holidays I've actually picked up my phone tying to call her 💔 Tristan you should be very proud of yourself with your sobriety. You will know who your true friends are as you continue with it!! Stay strong and keep busy that will help 💜 may you both continue to have faith my prayers are with you all🙏🏾
Aaron my husband passed away 3 years ago in November. I still to this day tear up when I think about him when that day comes around. He will always be in my heart as your mother will be in yours. Tristan do you ever watch Aaron and Claire from Korea? Aaron does a cooking show on TH-cam and Claire is the taste tester. I’ve gotten a lot of good tips from them. Enjoy your videos here. ❤
Aaron, I know how hard it can be to lose a parent this close to christmas and it does get easier over the years but it will never be the same. I lost my dad 16 years ago and I still have a hard time but it's all the amazing memories that I remember over the years
Traditional Irish Guinness Beef Stew Recipe Ingredients (Serves 4-6): 1kg beef chuck or stewing steak, cut into chunks 2 tbsp plain flour Salt and black pepper, to taste 3 tbsp vegetable oil or Irish butter 1 large onion, diced 2 garlic cloves, minced 3 carrots, peeled and sliced 2 parsnips, peeled and sliced 3 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks 500ml Guinness (or any Irish stout) 500ml beef stock 2 tbsp tomato paste 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried) 1 bay leaf Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) Method: 1. Prepare the Beef: Season the beef chunks with salt and pepper, then toss in the flour to coat lightly. 2. Brown the Beef: Heat 2 tbsp of oil or butter in a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Brown the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding. Set aside. 3. Sauté the Vegetables: Add the remaining oil to the pot. Sauté the onions for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, ensuring it doesn’t burn. 4. Deglaze the Pot: Pour in the Guinness and use a wooden spoon to scrape up the browned bits from the bottom of the pot. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to cook off the alcohol slightly. 5. Combine Ingredients: Return the browned beef to the pot. Stir in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and bay leaf. Add the carrots, parsnips, potatoes, and beef stock, ensuring everything is covered with liquid. 6. Simmer Gently: Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer gently for 2-3 hours. Stir occasionally. The beef should become tender, and the liquid will thicken into a rich gravy. 7. Finish and Serve: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove the bay leaf before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with Irish soda bread or mashed potatoes. --- This stew is all about slow cooking to let the flavors meld beautifully. The Guinness adds a deep, malty richness to the dish that pairs perfectly with the tender beef and hearty vegetables. Perfect for a chilly day! Seafood Chowder Ingredients (Serves 4-6): 300g fresh white fish (cod, haddock, or hake), cubed 200g smoked fish (smoked haddock or salmon), cubed 200g shellfish (mussels, clams, or prawns), cleaned and deveined 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced 1 onion, finely diced 1 leek, thinly sliced 2 celery stalks, diced 2 tbsp Irish butter 2 tbsp plain flour 500ml fish stock (or chicken stock, if unavailable) 250ml cream (double cream or heavy cream) 150ml whole milk 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (optional) Salt and black pepper, to taste Method: 1. Prepare the Base: Heat the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion, leek, and celery, and sauté until soft (5-7 minutes). 2. Add the Potatoes: Stir in the diced potatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes. 3. Create the Roux: Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste. 4. Add Stock and Simmer: Gradually add the fish stock while stirring to avoid lumps. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook until the potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes). 5. Add the Seafood: Gently stir in the cubed fish and shellfish. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the fish is cooked and the shellfish open (discard any unopened shellfish). 6. Finish with Cream and Milk: Stir in the cream and milk, heating gently (do not boil, as it may curdle). 7. Season and Garnish: Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper. Stir in fresh parsley and dill. 8. Serve: Ladle into bowls and serve with crusty Irish brown bread or soda bread. Traditional Irish Boxty Recipe Ingredients (Makes about 8 pancakes): 2 cups raw potatoes, peeled and grated 1 cup mashed potatoes (warm and unsalted) 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup whole milk 1 tbsp Irish butter (for frying, plus more as needed) Method: 1. Prepare the Potatoes: Grate the raw potatoes finely and place them in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth. Squeeze out as much moisture as possible. This step is essential for crisp pancakes. 2. Mix the Batter: In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, mashed potatoes, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the milk, mixing until you have a thick but pourable batter. 3. Heat the Pan: Heat a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter and let it melt. 4. Cook the Boxty: Drop a ladleful of batter into the pan, spreading it out to about 1/4 inch thick. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp. Adjust heat as necessary to prevent burning. 5. Serve: Keep the cooked boxty warm in the oven while you prepare the rest. Serve hot with traditional toppings such as sour cream, smoked salmon, crispy bacon, or a poached egg. Serving Suggestions: For a savory dish, serve with fried eggs, sausage, or a dollop of crème fraîche and chives. For a sweet twist, drizzle with honey or sprinkle with sugar.
Two possible video ideas if you’re comfortable: cooking your bio mom’s fav dish while telling us about her or yalls relationship or how you grew up AND cooking a Trinidadian dish. Love watching yall along with all the crazy channels!
Congratulations Tristan!!! My daughter has been sober for 8 years. It is not always easy but very worth it. You are correct about finding someone to fall in love with. Everyone (men and women) seems to expect their partner to take care of them when they should be taking care of each other equally. Love the cooking videos. Can't wait for a cookbook!
Love watching your cooking videos! I’m not a cookbook person only because I prefer videos. BUT…if you link your recipes to a video with like a QR code, I would definitely buy your cookbook! That way I don’t have to print the recipe since I already have it in a nice cookbook and I will have the link to hop right over to the video to watch it. Best of luck! Also, I’m proud of you on your sobriety Tristan!
I hope Aurora is feeling better soon! I too have been sick since Saturday. Do you guys have any home recipes that help with cold and flu other than soups that you could do in a video? I'm about sick of soup I've had it so much this week! LOL
another easy and cheap meal is take that turkey add to some stir fried veg, eat over rice. I make my own sauce. {one can tomato soup, one table spoon vinegar ,three tablespoons soy sauce. one teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon ginger salt and pepper. }mix into stir fry veg.
Irish Stew Ingredients 2 pounds beef or lamb cut in 1 1/2 inch cubes 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil 3 cups carrots, cut in 1/2 inch chunks 6 Irish Potatoes, cut in medium chunks 2 yellow onions, large chop 4 stalks celery, medium chop 3 cloves garlic. chopped 3 cups beef broth 1 Bottle Irish Stout Beer or 12 ounce can of Cola 1/4 cup flour 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1 tablespoon dried thyme 1 tablespoon dried parsley Directions Wash and chop all the vegetables In a large mixing, add all the chopped vegetables, generously salt and pepper and then add the flour and mix with the vegetables until the vegetables are well covered Salt and Pepper the meat Heat a very heavy dutch oven and add the oil, then sear the meat Add the seasoned and floured vegetables and mix well Add the broth and the Cola or the Beer Cook on medium heat for 2 hours and add the parsley and thyme, salt and pepper to taste Cook on low heat for 1/2 to 1 hour more Cooking Option Pour the meat and all the vegetables into a Slow Cooker, add the liquid and cook on high for 6 hours or 8 hours on low, 30 minutes before serving, add seasons and thicken if using the Gluten Free option. Serve hot with Irish Soda Bread Recipe Notes The non alcoholic folks we substituted the Beer with the Cola. Gluten Free, Corn Starch is used as a substitute for flour, by 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 1/2 cup water to the final stew to thicken.
Aaron i know how hard losing mother is as i witnessed passing of my mother couple weeks ago. It broken my heart and specifically going through alcohol sobriety which i am getting help. I appreciate you and Tristan your videos inspire me. God Bless both 🙏
I would love to see you make a Tiramisu. I have not had a great one since maybe 10 years ago or more unfortunately, the place went out of business. Between that and black cobbler or pie is my absolute favorite.
Tristan, can you help me with a dressing for a salad I make please? It has lettuce, cucumber (English) tomato, red onion, crumbly goat cheese, strawberries and cross slices from a large orange. Should I do a basic olive oil, lemon juice, Dijon mustard and garlic with seasoning or can you recommend a different recipe please? Thank you.
Erin, I lost my father on December 18 but it’s been 15 years now. But I lost my mother on December 31 five years ago. Every December 18 and December 31 I do a prayer time and just sit and talk to them. I did keep their ashes so there’s that. I will keep you in my prayers. It’s harder the first year and it will get easier I promise. I also have a massive portrait of each of my parents on my wall so it helps.
I love Goulash! I make a homemade meat spaghetti sauce as my base. Large elbow macaroni, grated cheddar cheese and fresh corn. Make your sauce, then add to cooked macaroni, add cheese to taste and corn. Once everything is in it put on low heat to melt the cheese, then eat! BTW don’t add to much cheese or it will over power the sauce. Enjoy!
Bean Crock has become the traditional dish of Jersey. It makes a filling but very tasty meal, and there are as many recipes as there are cooks - but they're all based on a mixture of dried beans, pork - preferably on the bone - or sometimes beef, and onions. Traditionally, the jar of beans and meat was carried to the bakery to cook overnight. A good bean crock relies on long, slow cooking. Traditional crock pots are still sold in Jersey - but you can use a large casserole dish with a lid, or even a slow cooker to make a bean crock. Sometimes the beans used are just haricot beans, sometimes they are mixed beans. If you want to try making your own, Touzels Pet Shop near the Central Market sell mixed bags of beans for bean crocks, as well as the crock pots. It was traditional to use pig's trotters - they give a rich gravy which forms a gel as it cools, but don't have much meat on them, so you need to add extra pork. Hocks can also be used. My recipe uses belly pork - easier to get and I don't have any problem getting a good thick gravy despite the lack of bones. Ingredients 500g/1lb mixed beans 500g/1lb belly pork, cubed 2 onions 4 bay leaves Black pepper Salt Soak the beans overnight in cold water. If the mixture includes red kidney beans it is important to boil the beans for at least 10 minutes before putting them in the crock pot. Put the beans, cubed pork and roughly sliced onions into the crock pot with the bay leaves and pepper. Cover with water, and cook slowly in a moderate oven for at least five hours. Check periodically to see that there is still enough water. You want the bean crock to thicken up, but not burn or dry out. Add salt towards the end of the cooking. Serve with crusty bread and perhaps some green salad. At community events in Jersey such as Barn Dances, bean crocks may be brought and served by the organisers. If you sample them, you will find that every one is different. Some are thick, some thin, some have carrots added. I definately prefer mine on the thick side! Please use this local one jersey channel islands
some easy and cheap meals you can do. I took some left over turkey and make turkey noodle soup using can veg. then two days later I took some dark turkey meat and turned it into turkey pot pie with homemade crust using can veg, and package gravy .I mixed the gravy and poured it into the vegand turkey with seasoning .it will thicken during cooking in the oven.
We took on a cooking challenge. We got a calendar from our local grocery store that is a recipe a month. Our challenge is to make the recipe for the month, at least once that month. That could be a challenge for Beyond Crazy.
Aaron I know it's hard when your out and see something that reminds you of your lost one, this is my 3 Christmas without my son and when I'm decorating it brings so many memories when my kids were little and help me.. now I have my grandson with me on the holidays and I know that my son is watching over us...
Being from WI, I have been in and seen quite a few Frank Lloyd Wright designed buildings. I didn't know Arizona had some too. Kraut Bierocks is a cabbage and meat filled roll that I know Aaron would like. It's not gluten free though. Our recipe is exactly like many generational recipes, as it's not written down & the quantities of ingredients are guestimated. The recipes I've seen online are not the same, as many call for sweet dough. We use regular white bread dough.
Aww my mom passed away in December 24th of last year and In October I was feeling a bit sad and depressed and draining for the upcoming holidays with out my mom but I just decided to be happy because she wouldn’t want me to be sad and depressed and it’s still going to be my favorite holiday I will be happy for her and keep smiling for her and enjoy everything in December for her. ❤ love the videos 😊
Tristan go ahead and buy a mini van or motor home if you plan to travel/ live in it. I love Cutco knives. I would love to buy the cook book. I love the idea of low budget meals. Try Stroganoff. Tristan there is so much talent in you! I’m so proud that you have turned your life around. Please keep it up. We all enjoy getting to know you. Hugs Aaron stay busy. It took me 7 years to not be sick on the anniversary of my husbands death. Stay away from sick people!
My family is from Norway. Around the holidays we always have Lefsa and Norwegian potato dumplings. If your family likes potatoes they are a different way to make them for sure. It would be fun to see someone not it my family try to make them. Love your channel. Thanks for all the great dinner recipes! Sending holiday wishes from Seattle ❤
I commented earlier but I don’t think it went through 😢. (1) Where do we send recipes to? I have a great Dutch winter comfort food recipe! (2) Tristan if you like Frank Lloyd Wright come to Columbus, Ohio there’s several cool houses here (my professionally trained chef husband and I can show you the food scene here!). (3) Who’s your favorite chef? Mine is Heston Blumenthal and my husband’s is either Sean Brock or Michael Twitty. (4) Last, but not least, congrats on your sobriety Tristan!! An idea for a video might be non-alcoholic holiday drinks? Keep taking it a day at a time (or second by second if you need), you’ve got this!
1. Tristan congrats on sobriety, I really can't speak on that topic, but I'm proud of you. I hear you on the being single thing, i am too & just try to do things I enjoy myself. I'm in FL & we don't have Winter,. So I'm usually outdoors. Aaron my deepest condolences in regards to your mom. I was aware she passed last year, but didn't know it was 12/17.... that's actually my birthday, so I will think of that. Yes to posting recipes in comments...there are so many recipes u & Tristan made that I wish I had access to. Moving. Probably the last time you want to be moving....during holidays, but I have always believed things happen the way they do for a reason, so maybe a silver lining will be shining around the entire Pettit family (Tristan, ur already a Pettit in my book). Finally the dogs. My friend has 3 rather large Labradors & a fenced in back yard. He installed a doggy door connected to the sliding glass door that goes out back so they have freedom to do whatever they want. Sorry message is so long, forgive me.
my son and I share the same Birthday together, December 17th, actually I was in the hospital with him for 30 hours...I had a good friend that passed away on our Birthday back in 2013..and I definitely miss her so damn much....I'm sorry to hear about your mom! she will b missed definitely
Aaron ! I saw on your family channel that you have tried chocolate abuelita and the cold season is approaching, you should try champurado and pozole ! Pozole you can make it with pork or chicken !
I am so proud of you Tristan. It is hard to stay away from alcohol. I have been sober for 12 years.
Way go vickytaylor🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊❤
Good job hun!! I hope you are proud of yourself!!?? I'm extremely proud of you!!
Proud of you !! ❤️❤️
Proud of you I myself getting help as I am going through this unfortunate disease. Just waiting on detox and rehabilitation. Proud of everyone who conquer this burden. God loves us 🙏
🎉🎉 Congrats ! I'm 4 months short of 7 years! Keep going strong 💪
Tristan is a natural in front of the camera, he has a very attractive voice. I would also like to congratulate him on his sobriety...the wonderful life you will have will make it all worthwhile ❤
Love your comment! I totally agree 😊
Dear Tristan, PLEASE make travel vlogs!
YES!!! So excited for the cookbook ❤️❤️
Looking forward to all Beyond Crazy new adventures..
Tristan enjoy the adventures of life ...
Much love and Be Blessed Pettit Family
I’m right with you because I’m a recovered alcoholic. I’ve been sober for eight years now so congratulations on your sobriety. You can do it.
Aaron, I lost my dad in 2014 (I am 52) and I still get emotional at times when I think of him, but I do remember the little things we used to do together, and it makes me smile. I still miss him every day though.
I lost my Mom in 2007. I think of her everyday ❤
I lost my mom 3 years ago than 12 days later lost my husband of 32 years. It’s still gets to me
@@DonnaWhitmire-g5o im so sorry for your losses
@ thank you
My mom passed December 16 2008 and it still catches me. It takes time. Christmas has become bittersweet for me
My mom passed Dec 7 2023. So the holidays have been hard. Christmas will be hard this year because Christmas was her favorite holiday.
Yorkshire pudding recipe
1 mug of plain flour
1 mug of milk
2 eggs (room temp)
Increase for a larger family whisk together but not too much that it has air in it just till combined and let it sit
Pour a small amount of veg oil into a cupcake or muffin tin and put in the oven until its really hot the mixture wants to make the oil sizzle when you pour it in.
Congratulations on your sobriety Tristen!!! 16 1/2 years myself, you’ve certainly got a great support system/family
International food (Jamaica):
Jerk chicken
Oxtail
Curry chicken (Jamaican)
Fried dumplings
Festivals
I'm so excited for the cookbook!!
I loved this vlog ❤ You two together are absolutely amazing ❤
Happy holidays! ❤ I love all your videos! Keep them coming!
Good for you Tristan!
Great questions everyone! Enjoyed ❤
I’m going to miss the open cupboard that is traditionally in the videos! lol 😅
😂I laughed so much. It is empty now and still open
😂😂❤
😂😂😂
What bunnings do you get a $2 SS from? $3.50 near me.
Tristan, I’m so happy for you in your sobriety, it’s hard, but support is key. It seems like you have a great group cheering you on.
I really love how Tristan is so uplifting and positive in life.
Aaron it’s 7 years since by beloved mom passed and I still have very upset days as I miss her greatly.
Congratulations to Tristan on his sobriety.
I lost my dad 16 years ago and I still have a hard time but it's all the amazing memories that I remember over the years
Thank you for answering my question from yesterday many blessings to you and your family.
I hope with the cook book he adds those little tips that are really useful when learning how to cook
Traditional Irish Guinness Beef Stew Recipe
Ingredients (Serves 4-6):
1kg beef chuck or stewing steak, cut into chunks
2 tbsp plain flour
Salt and black pepper, to taste
3 tbsp vegetable oil or Irish butter
1 large onion, diced
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 carrots, peeled and sliced
2 parsnips, peeled and sliced
3 potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
500ml Guinness (or any Irish stout)
500ml beef stock
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried)
1 bay leaf
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Method:
1. Prepare the Beef:
Season the beef chunks with salt and pepper, then toss in the flour to coat lightly.
2. Brown the Beef:
Heat 2 tbsp of oil or butter in a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
Brown the beef in batches to avoid overcrowding. Set aside.
3. Sauté the Vegetables:
Add the remaining oil to the pot. Sauté the onions for 3-4 minutes until softened.
Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute, ensuring it doesn’t burn.
4. Deglaze the Pot:
Pour in the Guinness and use a wooden spoon to scrape up the browned bits from the bottom of the pot.
Let it simmer for 5 minutes to cook off the alcohol slightly.
5. Combine Ingredients:
Return the browned beef to the pot. Stir in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and bay leaf.
Add the carrots, parsnips, potatoes, and beef stock, ensuring everything is covered with liquid.
6. Simmer Gently:
Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer gently for 2-3 hours. Stir occasionally.
The beef should become tender, and the liquid will thicken into a rich gravy.
7. Finish and Serve:
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove the bay leaf before serving.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with Irish soda bread or mashed potatoes.
---
This stew is all about slow cooking to let the flavors meld beautifully. The Guinness adds a deep, malty richness to the dish that pairs perfectly with the tender beef and hearty vegetables. Perfect for a chilly day!
Seafood Chowder
Ingredients (Serves 4-6):
300g fresh white fish (cod, haddock, or hake), cubed
200g smoked fish (smoked haddock or salmon), cubed
200g shellfish (mussels, clams, or prawns), cleaned and deveined
3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
1 onion, finely diced
1 leek, thinly sliced
2 celery stalks, diced
2 tbsp Irish butter
2 tbsp plain flour
500ml fish stock (or chicken stock, if unavailable)
250ml cream (double cream or heavy cream)
150ml whole milk
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (optional)
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Method:
1. Prepare the Base:
Heat the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the onion, leek, and celery, and sauté until soft (5-7 minutes).
2. Add the Potatoes:
Stir in the diced potatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
3. Create the Roux:
Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
4. Add Stock and Simmer:
Gradually add the fish stock while stirring to avoid lumps.
Bring to a gentle simmer and cook until the potatoes are tender (about 15 minutes).
5. Add the Seafood:
Gently stir in the cubed fish and shellfish.
Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the fish is cooked and the shellfish open (discard any unopened shellfish).
6. Finish with Cream and Milk:
Stir in the cream and milk, heating gently (do not boil, as it may curdle).
7. Season and Garnish:
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper.
Stir in fresh parsley and dill.
8. Serve:
Ladle into bowls and serve with crusty Irish brown bread or soda bread.
Traditional Irish Boxty Recipe
Ingredients (Makes about 8 pancakes):
2 cups raw potatoes, peeled and grated
1 cup mashed potatoes (warm and unsalted)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup whole milk
1 tbsp Irish butter (for frying, plus more as needed)
Method:
1. Prepare the Potatoes:
Grate the raw potatoes finely and place them in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth.
Squeeze out as much moisture as possible. This step is essential for crisp pancakes.
2. Mix the Batter:
In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, mashed potatoes, flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the milk, mixing until you have a thick but pourable batter.
3. Heat the Pan:
Heat a non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Add a small amount of butter and let it melt.
4. Cook the Boxty:
Drop a ladleful of batter into the pan, spreading it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crisp. Adjust heat as necessary to prevent burning.
5. Serve:
Keep the cooked boxty warm in the oven while you prepare the rest.
Serve hot with traditional toppings such as sour cream, smoked salmon, crispy bacon, or a poached egg.
Serving Suggestions:
For a savory dish, serve with fried eggs, sausage, or a dollop of crème fraîche and chives.
For a sweet twist, drizzle with honey or sprinkle with sugar.
I like the Neon lights on the Thank you ending!!
Tristan I will be 5 years sober from drugs this January we do recover we got this
I need easy recipe but can’t wait for the cookbook. Love watching you guys cook and have fun together.
How do you feel about the kitchen size of the new house? It looks smaller.
It’s definitely smaller. We have some ideas we are thinking about to try and expand it.
CONGRATULATIONS TRISTAN I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU.
LOL
So proud of you both God Bless Chrissy& Rosie🐶
Aaron I feel for you. I lost my son 20 yrs ago on Dec 4th. It gets better but I never forget.
another easy and cheap meal is take that turkey add to some stir fried veg, eat over rice. I make my own sauce. {one can tomato soup, one table spoon vinegar ,three tablespoons soy sauce. one teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon ginger salt and pepper. }mix into stir fry veg.
It is hard finding the right person to date since I am single myself. I was adopted from Seoul, South Korea, I am 100% South Korean.

The non alcoholic folks we substituted the Beer with the Cola.
God Bless both 🙏
I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers!
Moving is very hard ! Can’t image with that many kids ! Lots of work !
Can u make the pink salad of grandma recipe.😊
I would love to see you make a Tiramisu. I have not had a great one since maybe 10 years ago or more unfortunately, the place went out of business. Between that and black cobbler or pie is my absolute favorite.
So proud of Tristan
So excited for the Cookbook
So proud of you Tristan! Stay strong
Congratulations 🎉 Tristin. You got this. Love your passion for cooking and doing for others. God Bless you
I travel full time and have been for about 4 years now, love it! Definitely pros and cons though, happy to answer any questions
Ingredients
500g/1lb mixed beans
500g/1lb belly pork, cubed
2 onions
4 bay leaves
Black pepper
Salt
Soak the beans overnight in cold water.
AND I COULD LISTEN TO TRISTAN ALL DAY.
some easy and cheap meals you can do.
Tristan you should try a salmon wellington with a spinach inside and cream cheese it's amazing
Honestly love any vid with tristan 🙇♀️
Aaron I know it's hard when your out and see something that reminds you of your lost one, this is my 3 Christmas without my son and when I'm decorating it brings so many memories when my kids were little and help me.. now I have my grandson with me on the holidays and I know that my son is watching over us...
Tristan, make Ariana her favorite meal, while she's home.
I grew up living down the street from a Frank Llyod Wright home! It was very unique.
Some great kitchen knives look for Old Hickory knives they are made in the US and will hold a nice edge for a good amount longer!! Love them!!
Okay so since u answered the meatless gluten free can u make it for show as I struggle please
Congratulations Tristan on your sobriety!
Tristan you are amazing to get through holiday be sober
Tristan we all support you,,way go 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊❤
Happy for updates.🥰❤️
U two r doing amazing for different reasons xx
Tristian is really good in front of the camera, very natural.
Anyway, try asian food too ☺️
Adobo dish with a twist perfect pair with rice 🥰
Joy is the cutest!! I have a 1 year old toy poodle named Ruger and they look just alike! Best dogs ever!
Aaron ! I saw on your family channel that you have tried chocolate abuelita and the cold season is approaching, you should try champurado and pozole ! Pozole you can make it with pork or chicken !
