As with so many things, Adset really does help the faction. Having that much better of a chance to start with something useful to craft in the opening hand, especially a card that grants you a better option to interact on the board than "hope the lost souls goes your way", and knowing when NOT to play them in a given matchup means when you do play Lizards, you're in a better position to pull a win.
These are the best guides to root i have ever seen. The pruduction quality is insane for how many subs you have. Keep going, i am very exited for more.

I have watched this video 3-4 times while drifting to sleep and failed to retain any information on how to play them. I played my first lizard game and WON. I simply absorbed the information from the video directly into my brain.

Played Lizards last night and had a real hard time (surprise to no one). Two main challenges/questions: 1) Outside of securing the initial two gardens in the starting clearing, how do you recommend acquiring more? With cats and birds, building slots got taken up fast. Just existing with warriors was not enough of a threat to gain many acolytes via Revenge. 2) How do you deal with Sympathy? Given that the ability to crusade is limited by the outcast suit *and* requires acolytes, it felt like the WA could pretty freely bomb my most valuable clearings without much recourse.
1) Absolutely play with advanced setup if you can. For a slew of reasons, playing on basic setup functionally leaves the lizards an entire turn behind the rest of the table. Other than that, focus recruiting on one specific second clearing ASAP, and hope that no one fights you for it. Myself, I prefer to stick to having only one garden per clearing if i can manage it, because you risk less and clog the board more. 2) You and WA abhor each other. Lizards can't handle sympathy, but they can sanctify bases to invalidate WA's biggest strength. If you can't convince the WA not to start a forever-war, then you can convince the rest of the table to feed you acolytes and hated outcast suits that'll make their lives a living hell.
@Nevakanezah_ Thanks! For me, WA+Liz was a little un-fun because of this sort of mutually assured destruction. It felt like the Lizards couldn't really get online until the WA committed a couple bases so that you could know where is safe to exist. Looking forward to playing them more, either way.
Theres a few matchups that do this forever-war thing. The way around it is convincing the other person that you aren't the only two people playing, and you'll both drown if you fight.
I played my third lizards game of all time after watching this video. I spent the entire game ahead of everyone else, and despite the rats efforts, I managed to clutch the win because no one else could score. Just as God intended.

The only thing I can think of that you could have would be merch, which wouldn’t necessarily be enough to justify a patreon. I’d still probably buy merch though, you’ve got the sort of art style that you could kinda wear anywhere.
I am training myself on Root Digital to win with Lizards (and everyone really) on standard setup with base deck, just so that I don't have to always rely on adset and partisans. I've been doing fairly well, but I'm also not comfortable going past Easy AI yet. However, Lizards were the first faction I played the one intro game I played years ago, and while I lost spectacularly their playstyle and vibes really felt cool to me. What I'm finding out the more I practice on Digital is that I tend to favor the Insurgent factions - while I have so far won at least once with the original six except for Otters, I tend to get consistently closest playing Lizards, WA, and Vagabond. And I only played one game as Otters so far and am about to try them again using *your* guide (this is also why I can't wait to afford Underground and try the Crows out)
To me insurgents feel a bit more creative, allowing you to try a more freeform approach. Militants are of course more tactical; very rewarding when your plans succeed, but rigid in their options.

I already employ this approach often, it just has its downsides. Character outlines often bleed into the background too much for quick select to be trustworthy. My image assets are a hodgepodge of collected works, and many of them are very low-res. And even in the best cases, this approach leaves a feathered border that I'm not fond of. Truth is: There's no replacement for the lasso tool.

Kind of funny how the lizards hate the birds and the birds kind of counter the lizards pretty hard. They can take your dom cards and lock them away in the decree. They can build a huge army and wipe out your gardens. They often actually BENEFIT if you turn their roosts into gardens as now they can place another roost without turmoiling and if they have despot they get 2 VP for free.

Josh Yearsley has also had significant design input; the badgers are his creation. 2. You shouldn't believe anything I say in the intro cinematics. This particular scene was a complete fabrication so i could gripe about the factions I don't like.

Any clearing! You only need the outcast suit for abilities printed on the faction board, hence why EE is so nice. You do still have to adhere to things like Rule, though.

Lizards are OP, I dominated my first game playing as them... against 2 first time players, and misreading their rules to the point of agregiously cheating... So just do that
They should get rid of Dominance and Dominance swaps, which is unintuitive and silly, and give the lizards crafting without needing outcast in exchange.
One of the most common complaints that new players bring into the Root community is that Lizards are very overpowered. The rote response the community will provide them is: "Are you allowing lizards to craft regardless of outcast?"
To be honest, I don't care what the balancing thing is, I just don't like Dom swapping. I would also put the calculations for Outcast at the end of Lizard's turn so they could spend the time between turns planning what they're going to do. Are these good changes? I have no idea. But they feel good.
this video makes me hate the lizards even more. knowing there is actually a way to win with them after all makes getting my sawmills pointlessly sanctified out from under me with a single ritual lizard to defend it even more annoying. Turns out "be annoying and end the game with 2vp but make it last 3 turns longer" isn't all they can do!
Yeah, there's part of me that wishes Digital's sanc-heavy meta actually paid off, but sadly it's self-defeating. If you like, my recent "grudge match" video has me playing lizards, and it's not a bad showcase of what they can manage with some reasonable RNG
