It would be a tremendous achievement if they manage to offer this product at a competitive price, along with the regular products in the market. To design something so good is one thing, and to make it a cost efficient, durable machine is totally another
But hats off to the guys who thought it out! Very innovative thinkin indeed!
cool it can even scope out the skirts that show up on the job site!! Nice!!
Volvo is the best on innovation. good job
All of the technology needed is already available. Its one thing to make a short computer generated show, but let's see someone produce it.
AMAIZING !!!!!
this is awesome =]
everything bar the fingerprint system is super cool and impressive. the fingerprint bit would be very impractical on a site and prob prone to damage
I'm surprised at all the criticism these concept videos get. certainly not all the ideas will come to fruition at one, but give them credit for having such forward thinking. You can't honestly believe current equipment is at it's peak of design. Electrical and electronic systems are absolutely the way of the future over diesel/hydraulic systems. Stability and traction control systems are well established. We'll be seeing many of these concepts become reality in the near future.
3:10 LOL!
😱 Wow
Its a giant hoverboard!!!
what happens when u crash at 45mph while sitting in a floating chair??
nice design make it so nr 1
MAKE THE DAMN THING!
they should make some of theese things
@dvdprui
30 years, really? Perhaps you remember President Kennedy's call to send a man to the moon by the end of the '60's. They pulled it off in nine years. Also, what would stop the engineers at Volvo from designing the hi-tech components to be durable? I think it's entirely possible.
lol i wanna see it balance itself on a construction site....lol
Interesting concept of a detachable Segway type cab, able to haul other loads and trailers.
Still not convinced tho........
wolfeboy its just a concept
looks like a Tonka toy
@dvdprui hahahahah
"Your finger becomes the key" once these r for sale, I think I know how to hijack some.
??????????
Its cool n all but this thing will b used n abused so it prolly shouldn't have half of the stuff it does due to durability issues so to speak but then again if i had to sit in 1 all day every day i reckon id want to b comfy
Ah ***** , you forgot to mention driverless AI. so human can seat back and drinks their ice tea, while waiting the world ruled by robots. thanks!
this wouldnt keep up with work demands of today stick it on the moon where things move alot slower
half of those cute little creature comforts would break within a year.. The company isnt going to fix it, since it has nothing to do with production.. The bucket sliding to the rear is going to get dirt/sand/water/mud in between the joints, so will jam at some point or freeze up in winter.. lots of other real-world problems with this 'engineers toy'.. Hell, the proxy alarm would be going off all the time since, on a jobsite, people are everywhere.. FFS..
that's ugly
2 problems.
1. the entrance system is going to be a pain in the ass in jobs where you need to get in and out alot.
2. The comfier the ride, the harder you drive. The dump trucks with most breakdowns now is the Fs types, because people drive them to harder since it's less beating up the operator.
And one last thing: A STEERINGWHEEL! When are Volvo gonna learn that steering wheels are fucking antique technology in heavy machinery? Joystick steering or GTFO!
