Maybe we could also say: 长辈 = the older generation (of family members) 晚辈 = the younger generation (of family members) The younger generation have come 'late' (晚) into the family, whereas the older generation were already there 'early'.

一个另外 的 优异 的课程， 但是 因为 平常‘晚’ 的 翻译 是‘late'。 我 不明白为什么 ‘晚辈’ 的意思是 'the young' 。
長輩，The eldest person，it means old man or woman；晚輩，The latest person，this mean the baby or the child，可以這樣解釋 。
