We thought seriously about that, but the site is owned by the public and we have many other wrecks in Wisconsin with more portable artifacts that the state has chosen to release. We don't really have an overwhelming reason to restrict the location in my opinion and I really prefer not to do so because if someone really wanted, they could relocate it now that we've released the name/port/depth. I would also add that we haven't had much of an issue with artifact theft here in Wisconsin in the last decade. The community of tech divers that can visit this wreck is quite small and insular and I probably know most of them. Very few, if any, steal artifacts because they are mostly interested in creating content for social media from the dives, not collecting illegal artifacts that they will never be able to tell anyone about. The generation of divers who collected artifacts is now mostly too old to dive this wreck.
