Wow! Thank you for the info. That is brilliant man. I gained a lot of knowledge. I've always enjoyed looking at art, especially mosaics, but I've never attempted to make one because I don't know where to begin. I now have the idea to create mosaic artworks using a variety of media, including both traditional and non - traditional mosaic materials. That method was initially taught by Laurel Skye, and it was quite impressive. The stone combinations are impressive. If my future artwork involves mosaic, I might be able to incorporate some of the ideas. Thank you for the advice, especially the part about "always keeping the character spacing in mind." I enjoyed hearing your advice and suggestions. I'd like to attempt making a mosaic at some point.

Very glad you found helpful. Laurel Skye was a friend of mine, she was a terrific instructor and artist. She was all about just JUMP IN, you won't know if it is going to work until you try. Keep creating friend! (this is Bonnie replying)

Thanks for this! Btw I found a great adhesive I can use for anything now. It's lexel. This stuff is amazing. Stays clear. Will adhere ANYTHING to anything. I'm just beginning in mosaics but I've used it for four years in my main work making sculptures and outside Driftwood wreaths and fish using mixed media. Anyway just throwing it out there. I hang my outdoor works all year and this stuff loves new England Winters and summers without missing a beat. Thanks for this video. I'm having fun learning

Lexel is good, rubber-based, a little sticky but manageable. Can be purchased at witsendmosaic.com/mosaic-tools-supplies/mosaic-grout-adhesives.html

This is wonderful and love the pinch pals! what is your substrate in the mixed media covid piece? And do you have recommendations about where to buy proper mesh to use in mosaic? I would like a roll - I've seen it for sale in small sizes on mosaic shops but figure they must buy a full roll somewhere and then cut up for re-sale. I can;'t find any at Lowe's that is AR..and fits the bill. Thank you!

Thank you - the PinchPals have been in my world for a very long time, and it warms my heart when someone notices them. For that Covid artwork I used Wediboard and attached wood shims to the back so I would have something to screw a canvas floater frame to. Mesh - you can sometimes buy larger amounts at building supply places or places that do concrete or plaster work. I just buy from Witsend, they sell by the yard witsendmosaic.com/mosaic-tools-supplies/mosaic-picks-tweezers/mosaic-mounting-mesh-1.html

The PinchPals art work is not grouted, stone is most often not grouted because it is put in a mortar setting bed and the mortar fills in the spaces in between "tiles". the PinchPals are fired ceramic clay www.pinchpals.com. Thanks for watching.
