They are in Prague and CR working. Czech Republic has a worker shortage- especially Prague, so Ukrainians are welcome They were the largest expat group in Prague even before the war...

I agree with you, Henry, at UATV, and thanks for this Weekly Wrap-Up. For those viewing refugees from Ukraine as some sort of burden, and I am sure some do, unfortunately, just as they see other refugees/migrants, as a burden, your succinct exposition was perfectly logical and true. The people of Ukraine, who are currently refugees, will indeed want to return to their homeland, to help rebuild their country after the tragedy of this war. People, and particularly politicians, need to get behind Ukraine’s fight wholeheartedly, so that Ukraine can liberate itself from Russian occupation, and end this war with victory. A prosperous, free, and democratic Ukraine, one that flourishes, is an asset to the whole world! Of course, it can’t just be a coincidence that the Kremlin Dictatorship, launched its invasion of Crimea, and the Donbas region, and later ordered its full-scale military invasion of your country, just at the time when Western Democratic nations were in the grip of a tidal wave of electoral support for ‘popularism’ and often elected politicians that were divisive, and inward looking, preferring to believe in ideological fantasies rather than facing reality. Sadly, part of that unhealthy ‘popularism’ is driven by a strong dislike of immigrants, refugees, asylum seekers, etc. However, looking on the bright side, I believe that this terrible war has been a massive wake-up call to very many people everywhere, and that it has made people understand that the nations of the world are part of a global community, and that you can’t simply view your own country as if it were isolated, not part of the same world, and instead, existing on an entirely different planet! That way leads to political and economic disaster, and most likely, tyranny. Victory to Ukraine!🇺🇦🔱Slava Ukrajina!🇺🇦🔱

People always confuse migrants with refugees.
The dude with a university degree who comes to work in IT to the Netherlands is an immigrant, even if he is from Belgium.
60% of Ukrainian refugees are working. Unlike other countries where refugees come from, Ukraine has a series of trade agreements with the EU, it is thus fairly easy for them to find a job. They are also Europeans so that they integrate pretty well.
I do actually know a few Ukrainian migrants, proper migrants who came here a long time before the war to work and live.

What to do? Support them of course! European counrties are supporting Ukraine in their war efforts, European Citizens have opened their doors to their homes and welcomed them into their households, the vast majority are here only as temporary guests who wish to return home as soon as possible. I have not as far as I know met a Ukrainian refugee, but I have crossed paths with other migrants from all over the world. I am attempting to learn the Ukrainian National Anthem to play on my flute in the street in the hopes that if a Ukrainian hears me they will be uplifted and feel welcome. These refugies from war are not fit young men or even single females, they are mothers with children, who have left their partners behind to fight. I would only hope that given such cirstanstances another country would do the same for my familly. Slava Ukraine!

A question for you Henry - Everywhere on Google, it says 1992-94 "state" assets were distributed to "the people", and approx 100 oligarchs "collected" them all. I have this funny picture of 290 million people's doors being knocked on, and being persuaded to give their share certificates away. if we say average 15 minutes per person (including travel), that's 8.27 years collecting the certificates.
    1. The companies privatised by Yeltsin 1992-1994 - owned by which "state"? RSFSR? or USSR? Were the USSR assets divided between the ex soviet states? (I could only find overseas assets agreement, nukes and Black Sea Fleet)
    2. The vouchers were "given" to "people" - all the people of USSR? If not, who?
    3. How were they "given"? By leaflet deliveries (which are often dumped by lazy delivery people instead of being delivered, even in the west)?
    4. Was any audit done to check whether they got to the entitled recipients or even the deliverers?
    5. How many were collected by oligarchs, and how were they collected?

I cannot think of a more reasonable answer than to look forward to the day that Ukraine will be safe for those families who had to evacuate their children to safer places, and of course to ask all Europeans to stand united against Russian aggression for as long as the evil empire continues to exist. Some will stay where they are. Some will move on to other places. Many will return to Ukraine. And in each case, the free world will be stronger for it.

Looking forward to seeing Ukraine 🇺🇦 becoming a fully united country again free from all evil russian interference and becoming a new member of the European Union 🇪🇺 and NATO as well as the entire evil russian dictatorship being completely dissolved from both the inside and outside, stripped of their nuclear weapons, and evil russia being turned into separate smaller countries with no military power whatsoever!
Glory to all the brave people of Ukraine 🇺🇦 and all those who support them against the tyrannical dictatorship of evil russia.

We've had many come to Canada as well (technically we have the 2nd largest population of Ukrainians in the world outside of Ukraine itself) and we welcome and and help our Ukrainian refugees here in my town of London Ontario. I am just 1 of many volunteers who work with them, help teach them about the city, how to fill out the paperwork they receive, where they can get financial assistance etc. The existing Ukrainian community in Canada is quite extensive so the refugees usually don'tr struggle for long to find Ukrainian Canadians who speak the language and can help them.

Let's get this straight: the collective west owes Ukraine, not the other way round. If they'd been taken seriously by our countries, the US, UK and Germany first and foremost, in 2014 or even last year (or, you know, ever) this war would not have started. And it is not "their war", but russia's genocidal war against Ukraine, which should be rightly paid for in large part with russian assets and hopefully will be. But anyone in the US or any other country currently contributing military aid to the Ukrainian war effort, who somehow thinks they're going to "own" Ukraine when this is over, should get that stupid, offensive idea out of their heads right now. Ukrainians are fighting the war our cowardly countries have been beefing up to fight for decades. Turns out we're only good at kicking ass when the other guy is a lot smaller than us.

As someone from a mixed race origin I really hope someday Ukraine will become a prosperous and well developed country its people have already suffered a lot for many long centuries already knowing Ukraine is the biggest European country in terms of geographical size inside mainland Europe.
