- Reasons for God with Kathy Keller. As we approach the one-year anniversary of apologist Tim Keller's death on May 19th, Ruth Jackson sat down with his wife Kathy Keller, author and speaker in her own right, to discuss a number of listener's questions. 👀 🤔 Ruth draws out Kathy Kelly on numerous topics including scepticism and reasons for God, suffering, unanswered prayer and to discuss in more depth Kathy's own personal conversion to faith 🔥🔥 her early personal correspondence with CS Lewis ✍️🦁 and what Biblical conclusions she's come to, or even changed position on, later in life.
Can we trust the Bible? Why do I believe in God? Is the Bible sexist? Is God anti-gay? And even what was Kathy and Tim's favourite NYC restaurant? 🏙️ 😋 Join Unbelievable? for this personal, thorough and humorous dive into the life, faith and theology of special guest Kathy Keller.

Kathy is the real deal. Her and Tim’s ministry changed my life forever. Beyond grateful.
I am so grateful that you managed to have this insightful, inspiring challenging interview with Kathy Keller. I can really see how much Tim must have treasured her and also been deeply inspired by her wry being and love of God. What a blessing. Thanks you so much Ruth and Premier!
I recognise that name ... 🤗
Hugs, Sra! Hope you're well, n having a super duper birthday! 🫂😉🎂💜
What a delightful and wise woman of God. My pastor dad was church planter and saw the good, the bad and the ugly over 64 yrs(since day 3!) What has impressed me is God sovereignly working all things for good. Was privileged to attend Coral Ridge Presbyterian Dr Kennedy for 20 yrs and always said the key to their success was the godly wives: Ann Kennedy, Ruth Wackes and Deanna Boswell. A good wife is a gift from the Lord the good book says and more so a pastors wife. God bless you Kathy!
Thank you God for Kathy's testimony and wisdom! What beautiful insights. 🙏
Thank you Kathy for sharing and updating how you and your family are. I appreciate your words of wisdom, so helpful and thanks for your honesty and reminding us , it is the work of Jesus in our lives as to responses to him. This interview is such an encouragement.
A very wise lady. So many gems to ponder. Thank you for this interview.
Thank you so much. Amazing responses to a great interview. I’ve been listening to Tim for over a year and I can see how blessed we are by the word of God coming through both, Tim and Kathy.
Outstanding!!! Learned so much. Please have her back
Thank you Kathy. You and Tim have helped me understand the gospel and begin to realize the depth and breadth of God’s love. I still listen to the podcast almost daily. Prayers for your comfort and joy.
Thankful to God for using Tim to bless so many people! Kathy you are blessed.
This was such a pleasure! Thank you for getting Kathy Keller on. I hope to meet her one day in person and have a conversation with her.
God bless the Keller family. Tim is well missed. God bless ❤❤❤
Excellent! Thank you.
Thank you
Thank you for this episode. ❤
❤REAL DEAL Person so was her Husband!!!
Thankyou for the interview, so helpful!❤
Although its unlikely any supernatural God actually exists it can give comfort for some folks.
*Great* question on interpreting the Bible! Thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wonderful interview! ❤❤
"When I got to substitutionary atonement, that's when the fireworks went off, I get it, I get it!" Kathy Keller. Mrs. Keller, what about a children's book entitled: Pepper, A Life Seasoned with Prayer?
Thank God. Women with normal voices.
Dead and died are terms that should not sit well with us. Do we not believe that Jesus conquered death. Nothing is lost in creation but only changes. For us on the last day...in the twinkling of the eye. Let us continue to use the term "passed!" Passed from this reality we know, to the wonderful reality of the new age to come.
My favorite is “those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.” 1Thessalonians 4:14
"What kind of an idiot are you. You didn't think you'd be found?" - so true and yet repeated by so many, all the time. Sadly 'accountability groups' aren't the full answer, but it needs to start with a genuine, gut wrenching, old fashioned fear of God. Because we can always do things secret from accountability groups and fool them into thinking we're doing okay. Fear God, run from sin - just like Joseph! Who incidentally had no accountability group in Egypt :)
The reason for God is the life of Jesus. If it wasn't for Him there would still be conjecture about the existence of God. I'm unaware of any other events that could demonstrate the existence of God
Jeesus is a myth. A Roman invention
@@zhengfuukusheng9238False. You lose so much credibility when you assert vapid positions like that.
This brought me tears 😢😢😢😢😢😢
@@inquisitiveferret5690 Its an assertion until I give evidence. And here's the evidence: the bible references both the cause and the outcome of the Jewish revolt, placing it at least 40 yrs from Jeesu's alleged death, when we discount the "supernatural"
As if the gospels were written then and retrojected back 40 yrs in time using the Jeesus character to make "prophecies" about the war, such as the destruction of the temple. The Romans had motive, means, and opportunity to create Jeesus
A brief reading of Jewish history between 167bc and 136acd will reveal this unambigiously. It also helps if you read the history of Rome and its emperors etc during this time. This natural explanation is the most likely sequence of events
@@zhengfuukusheng9238 Thats... thats just more assertions.
No serious historian or student of antiquity believe or assert that Jesus was an invention of the Romans. Don't try a brief reading my guy, do a full survey or the experts and look at what the data shows. Jesus existed, he wasn't an invention. Whether or not he was Divine or if there was a lot of legendary embellishment is what is questioned. No *alleged* death. Jesus of Nazareth was crucified.
I also happen to believe he rose again.
So her parents went out and bought her a new dog and switched it out for the dying one so as not to break her heart.
So, you switch out her story because you would rather hurt others than be honest with your own heart.
@@freddavis976 It is my absolute self honesty that makes me recognize that god is just personal wish fulfillment and has no basis in reality. It isn't that truth that hurts anyone, it is the fact they realize they have dedicated their life to a mistaken belief in god that causes the pain.
@@MiseryRex You come here and attack an 80 year old woman's life story.
You are nothing but a bully. If you were honest with yourself, your ego would crumble. The truth does hurt. When you say it doesn't, it just shows that you have never dared to face the truth. You are a typical bully.
I greatly appreciate Kathy's insistence that it's the Gospel that changes lives, not Tim or other preachers. The Gospel IS power.
@@MiseryRextell me about this god you don't believe in (because I probably wouldn't believe in that god either)
49:26 Guys if you wanna expand your congregation, ditch the anti gay thingy. I was raised to think that way and really it's bollocks. Christ was For people, not Against. Do that.
They are probably not anti gay just anti sin and teach we all need to changed & be transformed - all of us
Christ was for people being saved from sin and delivered. He died for that.
Thank you
