Hala Madrid !!! Liverpool played a good 1st half and Klopp came up with a sound tactical plan. Salah going out was huge, but I still think RM would still have pulled out the win. Isco actually had an off night a should have scored 2 goals. Karius did make two blunders, but he did make two great saves and Liverpool still managed only one goal. The core of this Real Madrid team is strong with no obvious old timers and some talented younger players coming up. I give Real Madrid a strong chance of winning four in a row. Madrid's run was against big names only, not big teams. PSG are basically a fashion design project and the European champions of choking, then one of the weakest Bayern teams for years and the most overrated traditional power in Juventus with a team that didn't deserve to call themselves Juventus. Roma on the other hand were good enough to beat Barcelona and Manchester City were the best team in Europe with Guardiola managing. That Liverpool side never "runs out of puff" like others, they just keep pressing faster and faster til it feels like a tsunami. Madrid would have had their hands more than full if Liverpool kept their formation with Salah on the field. The whole contest was completely changed once his threat wasn't there anymore

As a Liverpool fan I was massively confident in victory, probably as confident as I ever been. When Salah got subbed due to injury I knew we would not win. We don’t have the same qualities of the bench as RM. Asensio and Bale is a vast contrast to Can and Lallana is an attacking sense. Plus those 2 had spent most recent times on the treatment table. RM defenders would not have pushed up as much as they did with Salah on the field. Imagine RM loosing a player like Varane. Ramos would not be able to deal with Salah pace like Varane could. As Zidane put him into a team with less talent and less money and then make a judgement.

Real Madrid have been so lucky in the last 5 years. And their luck often comes from the other teams hard luck. Of course Salah going off (or kicked off the park by thug Ramos) made a difference. Imagine if Ronaldo had got injured in last year's final?. Salah is Liverpool's Messi, and in his current form he is arguably the world's best player. With him on the pitch Real were not as adventurous, had to play deeper, more retired and recoiled in their own half, unable to commit as many players forward because Salah demanded extra attention. When he left, Real breathed a huge thigh of relief, loosened up as their main preoccupation had gone and were able to play with greater freedom. What Salah brings (similarly to Messi) is his great close ball control, whether it be facing the opposition's goal or with his back to goal, his great dribbling ability, passing ability, great vision, and his speed that carries Liverpool swiftly close to the opposition's box. With him off, they lost that crucial reference which was at the core of their game plan. And there is qualified merit in Real's success as that was their only tournament since February, only one front to worry about while their opponents were involved on several fronts. Real were thus able to rest players regularly and appeared in the final full of gas and with fresh legs. They bet all their chips on one competition only. Much easier that way. But we have to strike a balance between winning the CL and the miserable season they had on the domestic front by their own standards. Ramos intentionally injured Salah and it's pretty obvious. He locks Salah's arm in and does not release. Normally in a situation like that, both players lift their arms up to protect themselves from hitting the ground. Ramos did not lift his arms, he kept them locked so that he could hold onto Salah and drag him to the ground. Nobody falls the way Ramos chose to fall unless it's on purpose. I'm not offering any excuses, but for me, this was the moment of the match and Ramos did brilliantly to get away with one. That's the game though, you have to use all your wiles to win on this stage.
It's as obvious as you can get, anyone who doesn't see it probably has never stepped outside and done anything competitive.

Klopps tactis should’ve changed. Firmino shouldve been droped behind in the no.10 position and brought on Solanke a striker with bit height and pace. Firmino has played AM, no.10 role before. This has nothing to do with being a fan but just purely being honest. Except for the great goals and the great mistakes from Karius, the game was a miserable one from both sides but more especially from Liverpool as they have never really shown heart of a team. When Salah was out of the game, I was reminded by the Euro France against Portugal. Portugal had lost their main player, yet the team never gave up and have shown great heart besides all the odds and it paid of in the end. Let us just say Liverpool are nothing at all without Salah, perhaps.
