Hey Brian...great channel! I just ordered my B80 Pro and am curious what adapter you used to connect the system to power? Does the system perform well on one 240V circuit with said adapter? Thanks so much!
Waiting for DHL to drop mine in the driveway today (B80) didn't sleep a wink last night. Thanks for the video can't wait to get started with it. Cheers
Nice video it's always I probably watched it at 5 or 10 times by now. I'm debating on whether or not to pull the trigger on the B80. I can't seem to make up my mind,I've been burning on a granifather for the past 3 years. And have recently become the satisfied . I'm afraid the b80 will wound up in a similar place in time. And the price of the unit that's not really acceptable. But I also find the brewzilla 65L to be kind of lacking in certain areas but it is cheap. What would you do ? Have you heard anything about SS brewteck coming out with a single barrel system size and what not. Three vessel setup is out of the question for me fiance would kill me!
Hi Brian! Nice presentation on an awesome piece of equipment. I assume that this unit could produce up a 20 gal. batch of wort but what do you think would be the minimum volume? Could this unit do smaller than five gallons? Thanks!
Are they going to have a US distributor? I am sure that the factory does a great job at support but it would be nice to know parts are a day or two a way if needed.
We have talked to U.S. Distributors and they were very interested but wanted too high profit. Would have had to be priced 30% higher, so figured we rather give the discount direct to end user through free shipping. We have plans to set up a local operation in the US, but smaller orders should be there in 3-4 days max with DHL :)
Thank you again for an amazing video! Can you comment on if this system can do both a 10 gallon batch and a 15 gallon batch for a typical grain bill (e.g., no triple IPAs, etc)? Sincere thanks.
15 gallon batch might be capable but you would not be able to do a "big beer" At that size. 10 gallons no problem. The kettle is actually larger than 80L so you have a bit of headspace. 👍🍻
Great spec and accessory report Short Circuited Brewers. It looks robust with lots of utility. Definitely targeted for the advanced brewer with an established process. Am I correct to assume this is a 20 gallon rig? Being simple minded and half blind, I'll have to watch you guys with the hot rod rigs from the porch. I'll still run at ya until my chain tightens up and bark though. The shop looks great brother. I'm not old, I'm enriched by fermentation. Cheers bud.
@@beeroquoisnation haha!! You could drink while brewing.. Just don't be surprised to see some wort running out on the floor.. Lol been there done that.. On a live stream no less! 😄
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers It's a good thing we are human. If we weren't we'd have no excuses. Can't wait for your brew day vidya on this gem. Always brew in moderation.

Controller has a gasket between the parts, and there is a second gasket between the front panel and the steel. Display is glued with FDA approved silicone.
Wow, it's awesome, but it's too expensive for my tastes...wonderful review. The only worry I would have is the availability of spare parts, like pumps and such. I would rather have a Brewzilla...but they could take notes on the User Interface on the B80...so functional and easy.
So brew tools is coming out with a B150. A very inexpensive (comparative) 1BBL brewing options. I only have 1 240V plug and brew tools says the B80 and B150 use 2. I saw that you adapted the 2 plugs down to one. Have you noticed any performance issues? Also, can you still control each 3000/3300W heater independently still? If so, what did you do to complete this integration? Thanks! Cheers!
Everything works exactly the same as one with 2 plugs. All I did was wire both wires under the same respective terminals. The Brewtools guys did 2 plugs to make it more compatible with more countries.
Would you be willing to write up what you did to move the b80 from 2 cords to one power cord? I’d like to be able to run my b80 off of my current 14-50r plug if that’s possible (maybe with a 14-50 to 6-20 adapter)?
It's easy. Just remove the 2 plugs, cut off the barrel connectors on the wire from brewtools, then strip the wire back and twist the same colored wires together and put them under the terminals of the new plug. 👍🍻
@@ShortCircuitedBrewers thanks!! And you used the same plugs on the end of the b80 as the plug it came with or did you swap that 6-20 with a different plug? I’m wanting to use my 14-50 receptacle that I’ve got today.
Nicely done overview. I’m considering the B80 but I have the space and time to build another very large component system for the same $. I’ll probably just head to the local restaurant supply shop then break out the TIG welder. Maybe. *lazy voice in head:* But that thing is already done. *maker voice in head:* Don’t listen to him. Build it yourself. First word problem at its finest.
Hey! If they want to give it away, that's their choice. I would be happy to administer it, but I'm very seriously, highly unlikely, very doubtful that they will do a giveaway.. Lol but who knows I could be wrong, I have been before!! 👍🍻
Awesome job Brian. Yup I had the same issue in my review, so much to cover!
I know!! More to come on the new one!! Enjoyed yours too! 👍🍻

I am not sure about a US distributor. They did try to talk to a few and had no luck. So that was why the are shipping from Norway.
I have a big garage and a background in tech support and customer service if they are looking for someone... @brewtools ;-)

It's kinda out now.. Not a full brew day, but my experience so far!!
How's the waterproofing around the display? I would worry about water getting in there while cleaning the kettle.

Spare parts would be at your house in 3 days normally :)
@@Brewtools Hmm, probably not in Canada though?

I'm not for sure.. I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 -14 lbs? Any smaller and the grain bed would be less than an inch.. Lol

Short Circuited Brewers I was wondering how you did this. Do you have a photo at all? I was hoping I could just use one 50amp outlet. Thanks
Is was just taking off the existing plugs and wiring them to one plug. Make sure whatever you do, have GFCI protection. 👍🍻
Short Circuited Brewers do you recommend a gfci plug or adapter that you used to combine them into?
@@joshuamsteele I'm using a GFCI breaker. You will need a 30amp GFCI. Those are somewhat cost prohibitive at that amperage in a adapter situation.
Is this the most premium enthusiast homebrewing system out there?
Pretty much! It is priced below the braumeister, with more options.. 👍🍻
That's awesome. Great review!
