Mate, you are a legend, I have been banging my head against the wall for 2 days trying to get my P2V working again after being in storage for 2 years. I did all updates of firmware and software, did a rebind on my Wi-Fi extender and got telemetry back but no picture. According to the many many posts and videos, the next step was a new video transmitter or camera or both (in other words, put it in the bin). I decided to put one more effort in to finding an answer online and came across your video. No one anywhere has recommended updating the firmware on the camera itself. All fixed and the old girl is back up and running at full speed. Thank you so much for your helpful advice, it is greatly appreciated.
DJI put out a product that goes bad. I have read the comments and see how it effects most of us in the same way. Now we have been abandoned. No more firmware upgrades and soon no more parts. Mine is the same as everyone else's and it is the P2V drone. In the plus model they addressed the overheating issue by drilling many holes in the Video box inside. It's time for a "Class Action Law Suit. Defective parts on the vision need to be replaced and also made available for purchase over the next three years. What do you think???
+Carl Olson I've had many troubleshooting challenges with my DJI Phantoms but not one yet that I couldn't fix. Being an early adopter of drones, i expect it. Things will likely become more refined after competitors like GoPro enter the game.
Thank you. It's not about the early models, it's about correcting what is wrong. Making a change in what is fast becoming a big issue with the P2V should be their priorty. Not, acting like "oh well, lets move on to P3 or P4. I am being left behind and maybe all of us need to go to court to clean this up.
Hello last person you are helping ( 4 weeks ago ) once u format the micro sd card do u have to bind the camera or no. If i do do i need to bind the camera then format the micro sd card or do the format 1st. thanks.

Rcdznm ACK! You've already recalibrate with software. Do you think that it's the camera/gimbal itself that is pointed incorrectly or possibly the landing gear somehow?
Phantom 2 Vision owner here, had a delightful year of epic flight and appreciating vistas in real time. But alas, now I appear to be in the same boat as everyone else here. It flies fine, and camera records and takes photos, I am getting telemetry on my mobile device app, but for the life of me, there is no live video feed, just blackness. My unit is no longer under warranty and it seems that many who sent theirs in seem to have the issue reoccur anyways. The wifi doesn't seem to be suspect, since I am getting perfectly good live telemetry from the drone (alt, heading, speed). And the camera seems to be fine, since it takes pictures and video, but just doesn't let me see video preview (live video feed). I have rebound my extender, replaced camera wiring harnesses, even gone so far as to disassemble camera unit to verify solid connections within. I'm running current firmware on drone, remote, and mobile device. I have tried all the rebinding, reinstalling, rolling back firmwares, and powering on devices in a certain order with appropriate warmup times that have been suggested here and elsewhere. Has anyone found a solid solution? I honestly suspect its something in the Vision app, since all the drone functions seem to be perfectly normal.
+2 Hunter Sounds like one of the unfortunate aspects of drones. These things are great but they all wear out with time. I'd suggest trying to sell is as is and pick up a Phantom 3 Standard. Check out my 400orBelow website. Best of luck!
Hi, early this year I bought a Phantom 2 vision plus. For some reason, my camera indicates a solid green light which according to the manual is "wi fi status off". I do not know how to turn this on, as my controller cannot connect to the drone. Can you help please?
Frederick Hoffman Check the link within this video's description. I place the microSD card inside of a full-size SD card adapter. I then place that inside of my Mac's SD card slot and copy the file over to it. Make sense? Drop me a line if you get stuck.
I have a Phantom Vision 2 Plus but it is not taking photos. It sounds like the photo is taking but when I plug the SD card into the caddy and plug it into my Apple MackBook Air and find the No Name drive through Finder, there are no photos. Any thoughts?
Mike Duck Try this. With your phone and Phantom both on (paired and you can see FPV view but engines not running) browse within DJI Vision App and see if you can see recorded photos and videos there. If so, it successfully recorded the photos/videos and the issue is isolated to the computer side. Did you format the microSD card via DJI Vision App prior to use? I have a video tutorial on how to do that. That could be the problem as well. Those are the first things I'd try to try to isolate the problem. my phantom 2 vision c recently lost satellites keep saying broken connection none of the satellites are showing up on cell phone app I reminded phantom 2 controller not any luck does not see any satellites

I got a mint 2nd hand DJI Phantom Vision." Not Plus" two weeks ago. All was good with 5 or 6 flights. No problems. I then updated the firmware at Controller and Phantom via the Assistant (PC). Then the camera via sdcard etc. First flight was a fly away, 100 ft up then 300t to my left crashing into treetops. Few guards and rotors broken and battery had fallen out a few feet away. I now have a problem connecting to the app. Galaxy s4. The wifi shows connected within the app. The little green WiFi extender icon is lit and it shows the Phantom wifi in green. but when I try to access the camera, it says (Phantom Connection Broken) Tried rebinding camera, checked inside phantom for breaks or loose connections but nothing obvious. Any ideas?
truthbetoldni Ack that hurts =( I really don't have an answer other than if the problem appeared after the crash, something is likely physically damaged. Have you tried using a difference device? Maybe Galaxy S4 encountered an error around the same time.
Seems the camera video stream problem was caused by a firmware update. Had to rebind using the App. Scanning the original box barcode. Now I have a ( Abnormal Compass data ) error. (Camera to phone is now ok.) Now it's a compass problem lol. Two solid red lights only.
Its the gimbal when the top hanging bracket is allign in the middle the camera keeps pointing right .. Kept trying to fix it and now the camera does not respond up or down !!! It still takes pics and video but cant tilt it...

+Steve Woodcock I have 2 PV2's and each one has been sent back to them, everything was working fine, I don't use them much then it just stopped working.DJI really sucks and what burns my ass is they make it sound like that is the first they've heard of this issue, meanwhile you google it and everyone has trouble with it. They have you try all sorts of time wasting things too, might want to send it in before your warranty find out, if I remember correctly the whole process takes a couple months. I believe it is the video transmitter, they never gave me the explanation of what they fixed, it just came back working
I'm having the same problem. Have updated everything and no luck. Had my wifi piece tested by DJI and after 6 weeks they said it was good. Still no FPV.

+IrixGuy's Adventure Channel well for those interested I have the fix for it. Go into settings>bindings and do the binding of the camera using the qr code on the underside of the unit. This fixed my view find issue . The Dji tech support is clueless and I figured it out myself . As an aviator , I have experienced failures in aircraft; coms, pitot static , flaps . If I had as many failures as these Dji drones had in a real plane , the FAA would ground that plane forever . Please do the Dji vision 2 plus people a favor and post my fix . Now I just need to figure why I have to reset the copter to work with my remote every single time ...

I agree Gary, I took mine to a guy who fixes them, he said he had a number with the same issue. $500 to replace the part - I don't thinks so!
I got my replacement camera for the DJI P2Vision from a guy who fixes them in OC, CA for $150

CosBane You format the microSD card within the DJI Vision App. Are you using DJI Phantom 2 Vision+?

had to purchase another camera,, the arm was a little bent..

Replacement Camera for P2 Vision is $150, not $500
I did all this and it hasn't work yet.....I think that dji has no longer gave us ability to use it anymore....but I can fly it
