Added a compensator to my Dagger Compact, thank you for the lesson I will be getting a lighter (15lb) spring since I'm adding weight to the end of the slide.......
Been trying to remove the cap on my G19 Gen3 but not going well. Thought about just getting a new rod but having a hard time finding one. Any other tricks I could try?
Hi Mike i have a 5" XD 9mm but i have a problem with the spring guide rod. The rod is not smooth since i first bought it had some marks on it like metal to metal rubbing and it gotten worts now it has a very rough feel (rod) only. Any sugestions Thanks Mike
is it normal to have the recoil spring dislodge slightly off the barrel after shooting, even dry firing? it doesn't come loose, but its not as centered when putting it in at first.
I have a gen Ii G19 if I just want to replace the whole guide rod and spring i just get a 17lb assembly? Not that it probably needs it, I only have less than 300rds through it because I became busy for 27 years and its been sitting in the safe. Hopefully the plastic rod hasn't deteriorated. That is why I'm asking. I also use a different pistol anyway but if decided i want to carry the G19 I want to make sure the guide rod and spring are Ok
Thinking of putting in a stronger spring since its having trouble pulling the slide back down completely. I know 17lbs is standard, and probably whats in it now. What would be too much of an over correction? Should I got for 18lbs, 19lbs, or 20lbs? I have no idea. I don't want to go overboard either.
I would start with the 18 lb. I'm a little concerned that something else might be stopping your slide from returning because even an 11lb spring will return the slide with no problems.
hi, do i need to change to a lighter striker spring when using a 13lbs recoil spring? just worried about possible light strikes and failure of my g17 to battery properly .. thanks for the review
You can change the spring on the stock plastic rod but it might not hold up well. Once I replaced the plastic cap, it wouldn't come apart again after that.
Hello hai. Do you know how to adjust a spring gun becoming automatically slide back when shooting so that we don't need to manual slide back using a hand.
Yes I agree bigger loads bigger spring. A lot of competition shooters use 11-13 lbs for follow up. I also know full autos can have issue with springs being too weak to cycle reliably
Hi Mike, your Sig Romeo review is actually a review of a counterfeit sig romeo 5. Please review counterfeit sig romeo 5 on youtube and you will see that your Sig is fake
Thanks for the advice. I ordered it from a licensed Sig dealer and contacted Sig directly after receiving it. Gave them the numbers from the box and they said it was theirs and they wanted me to return it to them for repair. They also let me know that they are aware that some don't work properly. The problem I have is they still send out the defective sights and then wait for them to come back. No quality control. Thanks for Watching!

Thank you for this comment, added a live free armory compensated slide to my dagger and I'm doing the same thing getting a 15 lb spring now as well
thank you. I was gonna keep a 40 cal spring with a 9mm barrel. keep up the vids!

What weight spring should I use if I just did a 9mm barrel conversion on a Glock 23?
The question I’ve always had is there a specific rotation it’s supposed to be I’ve always wondered
Changing to a 13 on my Glock 19 to properly cycle 147-156gr with a can
Let me know how it works out. Thanks for Watching!
What spring did you go with? I'm thinking to use a lighter spring to cycle my 19x better with a can myself.
@@neilarellano8470 I went with a 13lb, gun ran flawlessly. Now I'm going to try an 11lb. Thanks for Watching!

do you need blue loctite for this ?

Yes, the spring will sit to one side or the other of the guide rod. Thanks for Watching!
@@mikeshorsepowergarage7577 thank YOU, sir
Yes totally normal on just about all Glocks.

Yes, you can replace the whole assembly. A metal version would be better then the flimsy stock plastic one.

Hey Mike, What's wrong with just running the stock springs? Is it just to lessen the recoil?
Yes, less recoil is the goal. Be it through porting, lighter ammo charges or both. Thanks for Watching!
Hi Mike put ported barrel on my Glock 22 and noticed with factory ammo it jams from time time would changing my spring to 13 lb fix this problem
I don't think a spring change will fix the issue.
hi, do i need to change to a lighter striker spring when using a 13lbs recoil spring? just worried about possible light strikes and failure of my g17 to battery properly .. thanks for the review
It may be necessary? Will have to run with the 13lb spring to test it.
If I’m having nose up Jams but a bored barrel what lb spring should I use I have a 20lb recoils spring now
Stock is 17 or 18 lbs depending on model. 20lbs is a bit high. I would try 17lbs or 15lbs
How to fix spring sticking out
Thanks man!
very good instructions thanks. would you advise changing the spring on the OEM part that's plastic?
I would change the plastic rod with a stainless one.
You can change the spring on the stock plastic rod but it might not hold up well. Once I replaced the plastic cap, it wouldn't come apart again after that.
No. It's perfectly fine
@mikeshorsepowergarage7577
That's unnecessary
Is there blue paint on the 13# spring?
Hello hai. Do you know how to adjust a spring gun becoming automatically slide back when shooting so that we don't need to manual slide back using a hand.
Don't think that's possible?
Thanks for the info.

My spring is not like this one. Maybe because I have a subcompact?
Yes. They have a dual spring setup. Don't think you can change springs with those.
@@mikeshorsepowergarage7577 Yes, that must be the one I have. Thanks
What lb spring do I put in a ruger gp100?? Anyone???
I’ve used 15,17 and 22lb, I prefer 22
Interesting? Typically a higher rate would be used for hotter +P ammo.
safe shooting!
On which model of glock? I would assume the subcompact models would work better with heavier springs for 40 cal and 357 sig, correct?

You don't need to PERIOD
Stop changing your Glocks internal parts. That's when issues start. There's a reason Glocks have been reliable for decades
