Barter World in the early and middle game is highly valuable. It should not be scrapped until the late game unless there is an urgent need to do so. Adding 2 trade to your hand each turn, especially with a trade row full of high-cost cards, is very threatening.
Thanks for the strategy tip! I guess Glai was concerned about not being able to hit me with my Battle Station out there and just wanted to get rid of it as soon as possible! But it would have been good for her to get the extra 2 trade, as well as the other option to get back some Authority!
17:06 / 19:17 To gain their effects, cards must be played. Once played, a card is no longer in your hand. So you can't play a Scout, use its trade to pay for something, and then scrap it. Once it's played, it's not in your hand (and not in your discard pile either, until the end of the turn).
This is false. The rule book states explicitly that you can use the Scrap abilities of in-play Ships. You Scrap them from play, not your hand. So it's actually the opposite; you MUST use the primary ability of a ship before you can use it's Scrap ability.
Nice job with this video, guys. My son just gave me this for an early Father’s Day gift. It looks good, but I was definitely looking for some hints on gameplay. Maybe I can play it this Sunday (Father’s Day). Take care!
14:25 (or so): 29-7=22, not 23. So at 19:45 or so, Pat should win, as Glai has 0 authority remaining, not 1, but ... >> 18:51 You can use all of a card's abilities in a single turn, so Glai could have gained 2 authority or 2 trade before scrapping the Barter World. (If she had gained authority, she could have survived Pat's last turn.)
Once again you are right! We made a small mathematical error there! But as you mentioned, the Barter World would have given Glai back enough Authority to make her survive my last turn so at least it worked out!
@@bernardgodfrey3499 For solo play I would like it to be challenging. For deck builders, of course there is an element of luck but often it also depends on how you play your cards. Do you find it to be more based on luck than strategy or does it have a good balance?
@@AllAboardBoardgames Balance is pretty good, though some of the bosses can be brutal if you can't get some sort of defence going in the first two or three turns. I'd like it to playing chess Vs an AI that will do the logical thing. It's cheap and fun overall. If scoring I'd give it 7.5 out of 10.
One question i didn't understand. If a base has 5 HP and you attack the base with 4 attack power, in the end of the turn, does it stays at 1 HP or does it resets back at 5 HP?
Great gameplay very intense at the end just love it
Glad you enjoyed it jaysonjota! Thanks a lot for the comment. We wish you a very Happy New Year!
@@AllAboardBoardgames thank you you guys have a great year too

I remember I love this game hah, more than you do probably
No doubt you do Teddy! haha
Great game, I use Frontiers being a solo gamer, no game is ever alike.☺
Hi Bernard! Yeah, Star Realms is a lot of fun. I haven't tried Frontiers, but that's cool that they introduced a solo mode. Does it work well?
@@AllAboardBoardgames It's good but tough, the AI is simple to use. Like most deck builders, if the right cards come out you're set, if not .....

@@bernardgodfrey3499 I see. That does sound good. So, I guess it has some sort of a campaign mode then?
Are you not meant to alternate turns after every full play?
Hello. You play all of the cards that you can/want from your hand and then after that it is the other player's turn. Hope this helps!
One question i didn't understand.

Hi there. No, you must completely destroy a base on a single turn. You cannot partially damage it. Hope you enjoyed the video!
K, thanks, yeah I enjoyed the video, I just got the game and I had some doubts, so I watched this video that explains it very good.
Great! Glad that we were able to help you learn the game. Have fun playing!
