    Can it handle the Motocross track? It does pretty good for a 265lb entry level trail bike. Had to be on the gas hard to clear some of the jumps and couldn't clear others that were coming right out of a corner. Actually very fun to ride on the track. Going to have to do some mods and visit the same track to see if it's any better. planning on a pipe, ejk, air box mod and suspension mod.

    Your letting off the gas when landing the jumps which makes the landings absorb the hit and your hitting hard. Instead pin the throttle on landings which will be much smoother.

    I own a 2020 250F and I tried it last weekend on a very easy track and it was fun. I'm not a track rider, I definetly prefer enduro / trail riding so that's why I will stick to my 250F. Maybe if I want to do more track in the future I will get a 250R. For now I'm very satisfied with this trail bike, it's cheap and much more easy to learn on as I'm still new to the dirt biking world

    Going to do a comparison video after upgrading suspension, yoshi full exhaust, ejk tuner, 53 tooth sprocket, wide pegs, twin air and modded air box. Wondering if it will gain enough power to hit the doubles right after the corner. Check back in the Spring.

    A great demonstration of the 250F on the track! It looked like you cleared every jump. It seems the bike will do even better with stiffer springs and valving to clear jumps without hurting the bike.

      Just about cleared every double, except for the one where I couldn't get enough speed coming out of the corner. Finishing up a bunch of mods and hopefully test out the bike next week.

      @@dr.x4050I have not yet tested the bike. I have an awesome suspension mechanic doing a custom front and rear suspension and doing the fine tuning adjustments and mods. I also did full viola exhaust, ejk tuner, modded air box, Twin air filter, 53 tooth sprocket, new bars, wide pegs.

      It will do much better with those upgrades. Really the only downside afterwards is the bikes weight. The 250R is made with mostly aluminum where the 250F is steel.

    Yea while i really like the power delivery of this bike , the suspension leaves too much to be desired for track riding. If you’re learning to clear jumps , when you don’t this bike will make you pay. Lol. Other than that it’s great. New forks and stiffer rear spring would transform this into something very pleasurable tho.

    Nice man...yeah I have one too and have taken it on smaller novice track and it does decent with jumps if you clear them....if not you'll feel it bottom out, I'm 245 and I replaced the front shock springs and back one for more stiffness and that's been helpful...looking forward to taken it on trails this year seeing as thats what its made for.

      Thanks for sharing! How does the 250F do with maintenance if used on the track? Just change the oil often or does it need top-ends like on race bikes? I'll be worried about overheating. For suspension I can upgrade the springs and valving (I'm a dirt noob), but is the Showa 41mm too scrawny even if modified? I will rather practice on this before getting a race bike.

    • @roverbandrover
      @roverbandrover ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maintenance on this bike is very low…oil change maybe every 4-5 ride…had no issues with over heating…shift like your supposed to and shouldn’t be a problem…don’t expect it to be a race bike it’s not…meant to be trail bike…I have only used mine with smaller table jumps/kickers…just shifting into 4th gear, sometimes a speedy 3rd gets me where i need to be…as far as replacing whole front suspension I have no idea there all I did was replace fork springs I side original forks and replace rear shock spring

    I used to ride CRs and YZs as a kid and looking at a CRF250F as maintenance is low and it's not too tall (I have short legs).
    Would you have any other recommendations for other "lower" bikes that can jump ok and have have decent power? Cheers from down under!

    • @jtd315
      @jtd315  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @olivereyre5379 I think your best bet is to lower a crf250r. I had to go back to a 250r. The 250f just didn't have enough speed for mx, even after mods.

      I just got a 2023 yesterday as my first bike, went to a few dealers and beat price I could get was 6600 otd, there are a lot of hidden dealer fees and you will have to negotiate. I was first quoted 8200 which I thought was laughable so I had to work it down.
