I’m always a bit saddened at the idea of an unhaul initially. Then I envision the unhauled books getting into the hands of someone who will appreciate them more, and I’m happy again.

I love this style of book unhaul - casually taking books off the shelves. I don't like those that are already pre-picked, where all they do is give a summary and reason why they didn't like it. Those, to me, are boring and not authentic.
It’s certainly more spur of the moment and stream of consciousness 😂
I like this style of unhaul. Very excited to hear what you think of Anthony Ryan when you get there. Loved Blood Song and the Draconis Memoria trilogy is my favorite.

Asking for Draconia Memoria spoiler- I made it to the opening chapters of the second before I DNF'd it but I am glad you enjoyed it. I am really curious though did Spy girl stay with that older gentle man she was with in the beginning of book 2 ? 🤭🤔

I read year of the flood not knowing it was part of a trilogy and thought it was very strange haha. Also you've demonstrated why you should not get things signed and personalized unless you know you're going to read them haha
I love book unhaul videos. And I really like this style. Much more entertaining then somebody just holding up books that they are getting rid of. 😁

Love Skulduggery! The dust jacket was a limited thing the publisher did right when Wayward Son came out, I don’t think you can get it anymore ☹️

The series is weird and amazing! It starts with John Dies at the End which also has a movie.

I keep looking at the beautiful white Deathless hard cover in your videos but I don't think I've ever heard you talk about it. I'm curious because it seems to have similar vibes to Winternight and Uprooted / Spinning Silver, would you agree? Is it a slow read?
I didn’t think it was a slow read but it’s definitely very character and atmosphere driven so you have to just love her flowery prose and relish the toxic beauty of the story

If it makes you feel any better, I don't think Holly Black's Modern Faerie Tales series is related to the Cruel Prince. Maybe in theory they are set in the same world (?), but I don't think the stories are connected. I'd read Tithe ages ago and thought it was so-so, but I adored the Cruel Prince trilogy.
I also tried to read Kill the Farm Boy last year and forced myself through 50 pages before allowing myself to give up. The attempted "humor" was torture.

Books might be the best part of day-to-day life, but they are one of the worst of moving. :( But setting up a new bookshelf is always fun!
Even that sounds like work right now I’m pooped from unpacking 😂
@@LienesLibrary I'm glad you are in the new space. Setting up my bookish space was my favorite part of unpacking... but I also left it for last so I could actually enjoy it. Right now it's a mess... a month fighting Covid and I cant even sit at my desk right now. :(

Artemis was SO, SO bad. Like bad enough that I was chanting "unhaul, unhaul" at my screen - so happy you got rid of it. Also, I know it's generally a hyped read, but I HATED Dark Matter. It's been years, but I remember it having a plot that has been done to death and the only female character had no personality and was just used as motivation for the male main character to move the plot forward. The Mountain of Kept Memory and Winter of Ice and Iron were just okay - I think I gave both of them 2.5/3 stars and then unhauled them.

I always hate unhauls. Not the video. the act of getting rid of books always pains me. I am a book hoarder. I keep books I know I'll never read.
Modern Faerie Tales was an awful series or atleast the first 2. (I don't know if she ever added another one) I read it when I was like 13/14 and I practically gave 5 stars to everything back then, I was easily pleased and didn't need much to love the story. And I hated it and gave both of them one stars. They were awful. Instalove with characters that have no personality. Put me off Holly Black for atleast another 13ish years until I tried cruel Prince. It really isn't worth your time.

Artemis wasn’t as good as the Martian but it wasn’t shit. I don’t regret reading it but I also won’t be reading it again or recommending it.

D.O.D.O. isn't very good and is incredibly long with barely anything happening. I actively regret reading it, such a time sink for nothing
