The DUP were foolish enough to court the likes of Jacob Rees Mogg, who at the time only needed the DUP in Westminster as vote fodder. Did the DUP really think English Tories gave a damn about them? It was plain for everyone to see, except the DUP, that once May was gone and a normal working majority was established that the Tory would drop the DUP like a hot spud. How many times in history has that happened? Unionism destroyed itself and it was too stupid to see it coming. They threw their lot in with the ERG etc and then Boris Johnson told them the mother of all lies and one can't constitute for a liar. Yes the PIRA were forced into ending their campaign of genocide and wanton murder but bringing them into Government with that constant veiled threat of violence was a huge mistake.....then pandering to them continually. Now SF have constantly to bring up Irish unity as a way of them pandering to THEIR own sheep for to make it appear that oul Bobby and co didnt die in vain.....when in reality both the provos and SF were highly infiltrated with informers and British Agents.
