Yes that is why i like and am grumpy sometimes onto Hiroyuki Sawano cause sometimes you just hear that one note and know it is him cause it is soo goood but a lot of his music is in the same range so it is everything incredible but after some time it feels like it meshes into one. That is why i dont like that feeling sometimes by his music. But I just love his music.

this is basically a lore on what happened in the Star Guardian Universe, this is actually the 3rd Part! First was Burning Bright ( Endless Starlight in Japanese League), A New Horizon ( Fates Fall in Japanese League), Light and Shadow, Everything Goes On, and Shadow of Doubt
Since Luke you are new to League, you have the champions and then each champion has different skins.
In this example the characters that appear are :
Neeko
Xayah
Rakan
Zoe
Ahri
The thing is that all of them are in their Star Guardian skins.
Think of the skins as the characters in alternate universes.
Like, you have Jinx in her original attire and then the skin where she in space or her Star Guardian skin.
There is also a connection among the Star Guardian trailers and I think this one was the last storywise.
You can clearly see their inspiration from SailorMoon more clearly in the other Star Guardian trailers btw.
Also, do you remember the Pentakill MV you reacted to? Yes, that was also to promote the Pentakill skins. Aside from the fact they created entire albums....

The story of the Star Guardians Alternate Universe is... uh... complicated. It's a skin line for League of Legends that is paying homage to the Magical Girl trope (Sailor Moon being an iconic show using that theme). The "gremlin" is Neeko, a chameleon-like humanoid that is like half human and half nature spirit called a Vastayan (technically her bloodline is less human and more nature spirit, which makes her super powerful). Neeko along with the couple (Xayah the girl throwing all the feathers at Neeko, and Rakan trying to protect Xayah, they're based on "lovebirds" and are Vastayan as well) used to be part of the same team (Sailor Squad, if you will). Something happened and purple child with multicoloured eyes (Zoe) was able to trap Xayah and Rakan, slowly corrupting them, saying that Neeko and their other teammate Ahri (fox girl, also Vastayan. This team is all vastayan, but that is not a prerequisite) abandoned them/turned to evil. Xayah and Rakan were deceived and corrupted, but are still good people because they are doing the right thing with what info they have.
Neeko and Ahri parted ways after Xayah and Rakan seemingly died. Neeko believed they were still alive and needed help, Ahri thought they were dead. Neeko went out to find them and bring them back. Upon finding them, that is where the video basically starts.
Neeko transforms into Xayah, and Rakan didn't see that so didn't know which was which. He saw his love was hurt so he attacked the one that hurt her, but didn't realize Neeko was the one who got hurt. Xayah starts to falter because the corruption is spreading fast through her, so Rakan heals it, taking the corruption into himself. That's the blue/purple stuff on them throughout the video. During the final fight, Zoe shows herself, and so Neeko used all of her power. Rakan blocked it for Xayah but it was too much for him an he passed out. Neeko gets caught in one of Zoe's traps and you can see the corruption start to grow on Neeko until the starlight hits her. Ahri bursts through to find that Neeko was right and her teammates were still alive.
By the way, there are more Star Guardian stories, and more teams too. My personal favourite is Everything Goes On, which is performed by Porter Robinson fyi ;)

@G.O.T Games exactly, some of the skin lines in League have entirely new canons (Star Guardians, PROJECT, K/DA, etc.) that are different from the base lore. While I believe Arcane will eventually become canon, and while most of the things (Vi and Jinx being sisters for one), it currently is not true canon
@@GOTGames the league community begs for a full fledged anime since they introduced the star guardian skin line. At least we got the next music video (Porter Robinson - Everything goes on) in full anime quality which is amazing and I recommend checking it out as well - this is exactly what the fanbase wishes for. The star guardian lore is up to date the biggest alternative universe with the big lore event update we got last year. I hope we get an anime but I think the chances are slim since the target audience is niche here on anime magical girl fans.
Ye, watch all of the League of Legends Star Guardian, really niocee and good animation. This is a alternative world from League, if there were a magical girl world. It has it's own lore, stories, and it's all very good. Do watch the "cinematics"; you're watching the 3rd cinematic, that's why it's pretty confusing for you. There's different generations of star guardians; the first gen has Jinx as one of the Star Guardians!
A rough explanation from some of your questions.
The Star Guardians are magical girls(there's some guys) who come to defend their planet from foreign threats.
The evil looking one is an ancient star guardian.
The dude you saw is resisting the dark side, but his gf, the feather girl has been "corrupted". Even if she's corrupted, he'll defend her from harm no matter what.
At the end, you see Ahri, a "2nd generation" of star guardians (from what we've seen of the cinematics).
In anime there is a sub-genre called "Magical Girl" which is young women and girls (on rare occasion some males) who somehow are granted power, and then use it usually to save the world. It features colorful powers, outfit sequences, usually an outfit with a 'bow' on the front. One of the origins of this genre was 'Sailor Moon' for an example of what the rest followed with. These days there are unique spins on this genre, and LoL did 'Star Guardians' in this style as you'll see from the very colorful outfits and powers and 'feminine' feel.

So a Star Guardian is basically League of Legends' version of Sailor Moon. It's an alternate universe within the LoL universe and (just like Pentakill and K/DA) is a skin series in the game.
The character that appears in the final is Ahri, the same fox girl from K/DA

star guardian is a series of skins for champions in League of Legends based on Magical girl anime like sailor moon. they have made in game events, animated trailers, music videos, merch, short stories, and a vn all set in this alternate league of legends universe.
Riot's Animation team is very talented with many different styles which is why it might look different design wise. But it is all apart of the same game and is just showcased differently in style with its animation.
They really are amazing!
Riot actually outsources most of there cinematics! I'm not too sure who did this one but from a quick google search it seems to be a mix of a lot of different Chinese Companies

the "weird laughing girl" had corrupted the 2 bird like people (Xayah and Rakan) and made them think the gremlin girl, with the lizard tail (Neeko) was evil
one of the reasons i love this trailer, is it has 2 of my favorite champs, Neeko and Xayah (they have the best voice lines, IMO)

its a trailer to the star guardian skinline, you should have maybe started with the first trailer of it. its more like a storyline. and its rlly amazing. reminds of the sailor moon girls. there is also a trailer for rakan and xayah when they were introduced. its rlly amazing.
League of Legends has a skincollection system where some skins are grouped up in groups of some kind like Inferno Group, Star Guardian Group, Shadow Isles group, Pyjama group and so on they are a lot of them ... :D soooo this vid was for either a mod featuring this skin line or a gamemod. I forgotten. As for skins in game it is only cosmetic buuut some of them have special effects which people say is pay to win or pay to loose cause some effects in some skin lines are clearer to see or harder to see. Just enjoy yourself. Ou yea and each skin Line has it's own pararel universe and sometimes they cross that is where the phrase Worlds Collide comes in.

The start guardians are a spin off reality of league champions that have their own lore and story. They are represented in the actual game with skins of the league champions.
Star guardians are super popular and a massive story line. Porter Robinson made a song for one of the most recent Star guardian events...I strongly recommend you see it.
for context league of legends has alot of different universes inside itself, one you know of is the arcane universe which is a slightly altered version of the actual league universe. this here is one of league's many skin universes called star guardian.
the champions with their respective star guardian skin are called
xayah: the girl throwing her feathers
rakan: the supporter who protects xayah
^^^^^^ they are lovers
neeko: the what you called gremlin who can disguise herself as pretty much anybody
zoe: the aspect of change who is a mighty being just trying to toy with people and can use stuff like portals to get around fast
i don't know anything about the skin lore's so what they do in the skin lore might be very different but that's a short summary of what they do and are according to my knowledge of the regular league lore

its a skin line in the game, and its a somewhat alternate universe inside of League of Legends, i think there are at least 8 or 9 Star Guardians (good and evil/corrupted ones)
the Characters are Neeko (the chameleon with mostly White/pink) Xayah the Violet one who fought and her Husband Rakan (who throws himself into line of fire to protect his wife) and then there is Zoe (the one with the portals/ btw corrupted) and at the end you see Ahri (foxgirl) which was i think the first starguardian in the lore.
otherwise, Hiroyuki Sawano did the song and sound for the video, which you can easly recognise by the level of epicness and design.
Xayah, Rakan and neeko got "lost" (symbolised by the half broken star jewels in ahris hand) which was a somewhat big reveal because between this video and the last one was i think 2 years apart, so the community gone a bit ham when it got teased

1:50 this is one of the league alternate universes, most of their skinlines that are super popular like that have their own universes, but they are just skins for the characters. Star Guardian universe is pretty much Sailor Moon type magical girl thing, this one is the third installment if I remember. The story in this one is the one with 2 colored eyes, Zoe, is the bad one, she corrupted some of the star guardians and now you have dark star guardians, namely the couple, and they are hunting their old friend to try to take her too as she is trying to escape I believe is the full story to this trailer. At this point if I am not mistaken there are 2 different squads and the older guardians who are mostly evil in this one. Zoe was the first corrupted boss style thing we got for this universe though, now we have the big bad revealed too supposedly.
There is a whole big story that goes over 4 different star guardian skin releases, each with their own trailers. In game at one point we also had a star guardian event that was pretty freaking awesome, it was pve and a refreshing break from the usual game, sadly they never brought those back yet. It could in fact be a mini series at this point, and who knows maybe one day.
Other universes like that include KD/A, the big musical one, there are like 3, with (True Damage being in the same universe confirmed, so maybe all the musical lines share that one?) but it is the most popular line for those, and Odyssey (it only has like 1, but it was another pve event like star guardian with it's own leveling system and had it's own promotional video for it too, filmed by Jinx, it was kind of neat) Maybe we will get more pve stories again one day, but Riot apparently says don't get your hopes up. The PROJECT skins are pretty popular too but we don't get that much content for them, pretty much terminator/matrix vibes for that one.

To put it simply, League of Legends is a Multiverse. There is multiple universes where each universe is COMPLETELY different from each other but feature the same characters.
The reason for it is to have fun with selling Skins. Since League of Legends is a Free to Play game, they need to make money somehow and they do that with Skins. To make skins even more hype they make storylines for it.
Originally they were all separate but then they released Pulsefire Ezreal. Ezreal is kind of the main character of League of Legends (Some people will debate that Ryze is) but for this instance, Pulsefire Ezreal can create portals to other universes, thus everything is now connected and some skinlines/other universes can now have the capability of interacting with each other.
In conclusion, it's a way for artists and writers to be able to write/design anything they want without the constrictions of Canon... the only constriction being the marketing team...

This is basically an alternate universe like Marvels and DC. If you're gonna react to Star Guardian story line.. you will need to do some research to avoid confusion. You're gonna love it tho.
just like K/DA and Pentakill, Star Guardians is a set of skins (=skin line) with its own alternate universe
(Arcane is basically its own alternate universe as well, the original game story is slightly different)
The Star Guardian skin line is inspired by the mahou shoujo (magic girl) genre, in the west most famous example is probably Sailor Moon
basically it's about adolescent girls who gain magical abilities to fight "the bad guys", but the stories are quite diverse
(one of the most interesting twists on this genre is within Madoka Magica, an anime that is often recommended already)
So yeah this all is basically just to promote sales on in-game cosmetics
However, it's obvious that Riot Games really wanted it to be more than just a trailer for cosmetics

Hate when people suggest this one without warning the reactor that it's the 3rd part of a series! Light and Shadow is the 3rd cinematic from the Star Guardian Universe. First comes "Burning Bright" and the japanese version "Endless Starlight". Then "A New Horizon". and then, and only then, "Light and Shadow". Star Guardian is an alternative universe based on the Majou Shoujo (magical girl) genre. There was a big event when the second line up came out, called "Invasion" where there was a different specific map to play and you could use the skins without buying them on that specific map. To me, was the best ingame event. If you are interested on this skinline, there are short stories and more on the League of Legends Universe page, under the "alternative universes" tab.
Starguardian is a skinline in league of legends. And like nearly all the other skinlines they have their own alternate universe (which each have their own wiki). But starguardian is basically leagues version of sailor moon

This is simply a skin event for the star guardian skin line which is a massively popular skin line in the game. So this is not cannon to the league of legends universe but this is League of Legends take on an anime inspired event taking inspiration from magic girl series like sailor moon and madoka magica. League of Legends have created a whole world with characters and stories which could be experienced throughout the event with all characters being based on League champions but in anime form. There is even a star guardian Jinx for example but as I said it has nothing to do with cannon League of Legends lore, its a completely different universe, but ultimately its just skins in the core game, no game by itself.

I have so many feelings about the fact that you managed to watch this one without any knowledge of the skin line or watching the videos before this one... It's totally unintentional on your part so I can't be mad at you for calling Neeko a 'gremlin creature', not recognizing Ahri or Zoe, or not catching all the little details about Xayah and Rakan. This video is jam packed with little things that you glance over casually so it's like... watching someone watch a middle movie of a series going "I don't know who anyone is or why they're important but the music's fine I guess". A bit late to the party, but you should definitely start checking out the story of other cities/nations in League! Runeterra(the continent and world) is just full of much more major cities and nations, Piltover and Zaun are big as a modern-day city, while Demacia and Noxus are one of the main warring nations with the biggest conflicts.
It is time for you to explore Demacia and Noxus, why not start with Demacia - the nation of rightfulness and justice, but maybe there is a lot more going in the shadows there?

Star Guardian is the most popular skin line in League of Legends and has it's own alternate universe with a whole story to it that is too big to explain in one comment. Ahh ye Zoe the best champion ( main Zoe here), I like her being a villain in this Star guardian story :v. Tho I find her backstory, why she did become evil a bit sad.

@GOTGames its literally nothing but skins for league of legends , just they have their own lore and story , and based on the story that they have they made this trailer so of a fight into this whole story , just to promote their skins about some champions of league of legends , and yes u got it right she was Ahri , the 2 birds were zaya and rakan , the lizard girl was neeko and the crazy girl with teleportations was Zoe , its just their start guardian skins , and actually whats happening there is that zoe was a fallen star guardian that was consumned by the darkness and then in another fight she made rakan and zaya to lose and get consumned by the darkness also , and now she was trying to make neeko get consumned by the darkness , meanwhile ahri is the leader of star guardians and ofc she was figthing against zoe when she lost her crue members (rakan and zaya) so she also feels responsible and she just arrived at the right time there to save neeko and if possible to try and get back rakan and zaya (spoiler they took back zaya i think but they couldn't save rakan) the story of that is continuing the song of porter robinson who collaborated with Riot to make another masterpiece and there u will see the tragic story of this couple (rakan and zaya) where they saved zaya , zaya now is the leader there and they are trying to save rakan from the darkness pretty much , ah and the guy with the wings (rakan) he is a support in league of legends that's why he got ''used'' xD nd well there are still many really good trailers and cinematic to react to , definitely the one with porter robinson and definitely path of an ionian myth and kin of the stained blades but pls watch them together bcs they are connected 1st watch ''path of an ionian myth'' and ''then kin of the stained blades'' they gonna super blown ur mind and they have both crazy music and actually crazy fights its like u gonna watch a mini anime literally but pls watch them together and with the turns that i told ya
I love how he goes into this not knowing anything about such a big lore like Starguardians and is totally amazed by it. Then Ahri appears in the end which is like the biggest game changer and keypoint in the starguardian lore at this point and he's like "Oh this is her big sister!?" 😂😂😂
But even he who went in totally blind found how our boy Rakan 'the guy with the wings' got played in this one 🥺😂

league of legends is like smash brothers with their characters/champions, though they are all league of legends originals. as far as the characters that really look like they came from different games. but its immpressive that they can incorperate different styles
