Kiwi living in Sydney for 20 years. I miss living off the land as a youngster, from picking pipis, oysters, crayfish and mussels to jumping the neighbours fence to pinch some plumbs and peaches ohhh and some Feijoa’s.
Yeah we get all of that but no need to jump the fence, we have plums, peaches, and feijoas growing on our place, it sure is a great lifestyle! Cheers!!!
Nice one bro , last time i ate kingfish it was also some belly we smoked and did in a white sauce in bread cases in the oven with chese on top . Was delicious 👍👍🤙
I'm not sure why your video was in my recommended, I don't watch diving videos, but your thumbnail picture reminded me of summer holidays camping in Tutukaka when I was a kid. My Dad was a diver, I have eaten my fair share of cray's. I thought he used to agree to us kids coming out on the boat so he could increase his catch, but sometimes i wonder if it was because weetbix was great burley for kingi's. (Edit. Grammar.)
Oh man that made me laugh, "come on kids I want to shoot a kingi today!" I have only done a little bit of diving around Tutukaka but the dives that I have done have been pretty good! Cheers!!!
Really nice to see so many fish down there. We have a similar crayfish here in Guernsey but these days you can only take them in pots as they got seriously overfished in the past and even now have not come back in any numbers.
Yeah we have it pretty good here! I've heard many a story of what Guernsey was like, I have a mate who is from there and used to work on the lobster and crab boats, he is obsessed with ormer lol! Cheers!!!
The crayfish on the east coast of northland have been in serious decline for a few years now so they reduced the take limits for all of cra1 and that covers the west coast of northland as well,,,Cheers!!!
They are quite common on the pinnacles that have deep water around them here in New Zealand, they are a super tasty fish and very much a target when I find them...Cheers!!!
