I vote for the dehydrated Rotel demonstration, I’ve stocked my pantry with 2 cases, and I’d love to be able to put some back for long term use. Once again, you sharing with us is invaluable!
I have 8 cans of diced tomatoes and a bunch of frozen hatch chilies I'm considering doing the same thing with! I bought the same huge jar of green chilies at Costco as Jim did.
@@villagesteader3552 Rotel tomatoes are diced tomatoes with green chilis in them. They are great for those of us who are (frankly) too wussy for real chilies, lol. What a nifty quick to the table meal! I’ve not ever made “fast beans”, but I will certainly be making them! I’d been canning beans for convenience, but home-canned beans are so mushy. Rather than heating the prepared burritos in a microwave, try popping them in an air fryer @ 350F for 5-8 minutes before plating. The tortilla crisps up, and you will have another texture - the soft interior contents of the burrito, and semi-soft crisp exterior. We enjoy them prepared that way. Thank you for sharing this recipe and process. I always enjoy your videos.

Yes please demo dehydrating Rotel tomatoes. My husband and I love your channel. My husband just retired at the end of the year and wants to learn to make bread since watching your videos.
We made our burrito mix and refried bean mix in jars! Refried bean mix doesnt have rice. I did 1 cup instant rice (we make ourself) 3/4 cup dehydrated pintos, 1 tbsp tomato powder, 1 tbsp. taco seasoning, 1 Tbsp.rotel, 1 tsp. chicken bullion powder (thrive life). we tested with putting in glass dish with 2 cup water and microwave 9 minute and had DELICIOUS bean/rice burritos. We decided to take one further and make canned versions too. (without rice) with seasonings, some precooked and some just soaked. I added liquid chicken broth and OMG they turned out beautifully. Precooked version will be used as refried beans, all we have to do is mash or immersion blend, and soaked only is great for beans/rice and soups. I cannot thank you enough. we now have 16pints of each version. My husband can take a jar to work with him and have burritos or beans/cheese. Hugs!

Can't wait to make this. I'd love a video on dehydrating the Rotel. Thanks for all the time you spend helping us.
You are welcome. We will do that video soon.
Looks delicious! Could you use freeze dried hamburger and include it in the jar? Please do Rotel video! It's snowing today so going to watch Fast Bean video and do those today!😁💖
Grammy: We did not use freeze dried burger.
@@RoseRedHomestead Yes, I know you didn't use freeze dried hamburger. I was thinking I could make freeze-dried taco meat and put the meat in the jar also. One less step and only add water. Just thinking and wondering if that would be safe and work.
Looks great. I would make a burrito soup. Add extra broth, maybe some peas and carrots or potatoes. Serve with tortillas or tortilla chips.
Please do the Rotel video! I'd also love to see your chili mix. My husband and I used your method for mixed beans and ground beef for taco soup, just need to figure out the spiced tomatoes!
Yes, please do a video on dehydrating rotel tomatoes. I just love your detailed instructions. ❤ thank you 😊
I have a 16 year old boy that eats me out if house and home. He has been learning to cook his whole life, so he is also a pretty good cook. When he gets home from school, he pretty much makes a second lunch/first dinner for himself. This recipe would be perfect for him. It would tide him over until I get home to have a real dinner time with him.
Yes! Please do a video on dehydrating the Rotel! Thanks! SO enjoy your videos and am learning so much! I see videos telling you TO do something, but I like that you tell WHY we do it this way or that.
Thank you! We will work on that video.
I'd love to see a Rotel dehydration video. I think that is a wonderful idea! Is the camp stove that you put in the description the same stove that you use in your outside canning station?
Yes Pam I to vote for the dehydrated Rotel. Can you please also repeat what you mentioned regarding the slow cooker beans. Thank you so much for you and Jim taking all the time you do for these videos for us:-)
Have you considered using freeze dried rice and/or freeze dried ground meat in this meal?
I've always loved looking at the beautiful fruits of my labor on my shelves ❤
Isn't that the truth! It is such a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment!
Great recipe. My only concern is if it’s too salty with the taco seasoning, salt, and beef bouillon. I think I would leave out the salt if I made it myself. Yes I would love to know how you dehydrated your rotes.
I also experimented with dehydrating Ro-tel tomatoes last summer. They work great in chili, and now I'll have them on hand when I try this burrito mix, too!
QUESTION: when using your stock of dehydrated ingredients (onions, beans, etc.) and you still have some left, do you re-vacuum seal them again and put back on shelf? This recipe looks delicious,
I was wondering too. 😇
Yes, I always vacuum seal, either in a smaller jar if I need to store. A little bit of time and electricity saves me wondering when I have so much
Yes. Please do a video on dehydrating Rotel! Thank you for your extremely informative and inspirational videos!!
I love your comment about the fast beans. Mine get all mushy, even if I only pressure cook them for two minutes! How long do you cook them in the slow cooker? Or on the stove?
I’m printing as I type the Dry meals in a jar booklet! These look yummy 😋 I’m with Jim, add all those goodies! Excited to get many of these on my shelf..I have yet to do the fast beans but it seems like that is in my near future 🥰
Can’t find the Amazon oven link.
I found it! Put in Camp Chef Deluxe Outdoor Camp Oven. Still $266 as of right now. 😉
Does anyone know if you could can on this in a SHTF situation (of course adding hose connect for 20lb tank)?

Yes please demo dehydrating Rotel tomatoes. My husband and I love your channel. My husband just retired at the end of the year and wants to learn to make bread since watching your videos.
Mary A: The Ro-Tel is coming soon. Thanks to you and your husband for watching our channel. Jim
I love having meals in jars on my pantry shelves. This one will be going on it next!
Hugs!
Yes I would love to see a video on dehydrating rotel
Yes please on dehydrating the tomatoes! I have so many cans taking up too much space, 😉
I totally would love a demonstration of dehydrating Rotel.
