I have seen Rosemary in person, years ago, in one of her shows, she is so generic with her readings she is bond to get it right for someone in the audience. she repeats same scenarios over and over again, they are all the same. She mentioned the house thing when I saw her also, among the public there is always someone that had a situation similar. She never says any names, she is always insecure on who it is that she says she is hearing or seeing, stating she is not quite sure, that is her safety valve, so if she gets it wrong, it's no big deal. she was describing a young boy that died in a car crash, he died suddenly, I thought she was describing my son, but then I realized that I wasn't the only mother that had lost a son in a car crash. that is so common. Since I did nothing to get her attention she went to the ones that did, mothers that were holding up their hands, or emotional, mothers or parents that in some way did something to catch her attention. If she really sees and hears these loved ones, why are they never precise? either they speak with her or they don't. why do they never tell her their names and point to the relative and tell her, look my name is Pinocchio and that is my mom, the one with the red dress sitting there, and her name is Cinderella? never happens! she is too generic.
Lol. "I see a house with problems, roof caving in, etc." "Well, my brother is moving into a brand new house" (nothing about a broken roof). "Oh, wow!" Larry talks about 100%. In what universe is that a "hit"? Such a great example of how people completely ignore all the misses and latch onto the (almost universally applicable) "hits". If you throw out enough generic guesses and ignore all the wrong stuff of course you'll be "right".
why did larry have to ask if it was a mother or father on the last caller??? he just made th 50 percent chance a 100 percent by asking the question..and funny its while randi couldnt hear the call
Both of them (Larry and the dead talker lady)are trying to do a switch around and make it sound like James Randi is the crazy one. When they are believing in " talking to dead people "..give me a break..lol
I don't believe in Psychics but the weight of the evidence in this video proves to me that this lady either got information about the callers before the show or she really is able to somehow obtain this information supernaturally. Randy is not holding his argument well and he is the one who seems to be using an elaborate con to get his point across.
@@holyspiritfire8268 you just said that the evidence in this video proves to you that you still can't make sense of what you saw lol. Also Randi is trying to point out that all of this is a game of statistics and that raw data has to be obtained under controlled conditions. you can't make assumptions on a tv show to satisfy the entertainers. it's important that he doesn't make any "promises" or statements saying what would qualify as passing because they haven't made a test for her yet. if you've seen the tv show he's hosted, they also use statisticians to find what percent of the questions or "problems" the psychic has to get correct and most of them hover around 75-90% depending on the difficulty. else the psychic has a chance of correctly guessing. I don't find any of the tests he performed to be any kind of con, though they may be difficult. you should watch them if you haven't already. psychics play a numbers game if they can't organize a hot read
I love the "We have to assume this caller isn't a plant." Why, exactly, do we have to assume that, Larry? It surely seems like a clever charlatan who was going on a television show would have confidants attempt to call in.
I don’t think the caller were planted in this case. If callers were on it, they would have come up with something way more convincing, like exact guesses of exact names for example, instead of these vagues “something about the chest” nonsense
As is typical of so-called "psychics", this woman just engages in generalities that apply to millions of people (e.g., the deceased person was thin or heavy, had cancer or chest/breathing problems before he or she died, was thinking about or was in the process of buying a new house or moving to a different residence). And her statement that she doesn't know initially who she is talking to when she does a reading in which she claims she is communicating psychically with a deceased person, gives her an obvious excuse, as Randi correctly pointed out, if she gets facts about the person (that the caller requests her to tell the caller about) wrong to say that she simply was "communicating" with someone else! These b.s., so-called "psychics" are just total frauds who really do not possess the special/extra mental powers they absurdly and laughably claim! There is no hard, scientific evidence at all supporting their claims to having actual psychic ability!!
@@michaelbarlow6610, I routinely demonstrate both cold reads and hot reads to my students who are interested. And I make the point that I'm NOT a professional "psychic." @@Phentari . I remember listening to James Randi on his appearance, as I recall, on Larry King's old radio show on the Mutual Radio Network many years ago in which Randi told a story about how one time he performed a demonstration of stage magic and a congressman or senator in the audience came up to him after the show and said to Randi, "That trick you did with the dollar bill - that wasn't a trick was it? That was real wasn't it"? And Randi told him, no it was just a magician's trick. The congressman or senator said, "No, I know when people are trying to fool me, that trick you did was real - you really do have special powers or abilities don't you"? And once again Randi told him that Randi did not have special powers or abilities that other humans don't possess, that it was just a magic trick. Once again the senator or congressman said to him, " No no, I know when people are trying 'to pull the wool over my eyes' - that trick wasn't a trick at all - that was real wasn't it"? No matter how hard Randi tried to convince him that it was nothing more than a magician's trick, the guy wouldn't believe him! Can you imagine what the people of the state that that guy represents or represented would think of him if they realized that he is or was that idiotically stupid as to believe that Randi had special physical or mental powers that no one else possesses? They would undoubtedly think, "Why and how in the world did we elect this idiot"?!!!!
James Randi has dedicated his life exposing these fakes from around the world and the importance of his work cannot be underestimated. No one has ever been able to collect on his (originally $10,000) million dollar reward which has been around for decades. Wouldn't you figure that their would be one that would take the challenge and win? Imagine being in the afterlife only to have to endlessly go talk to people in the living world. "You're on duty, tonight, Bob." Bob: "I thought if I died, I'd get a break from talking to my wife."
Let's look at the reading at 31:50 - she got the hat wrong, the leg wrong, then she tried to say she just saw a hat and mentioned that her dad wore a beret. The readee went back to her grandfather. Everyone knows someone who was in a war, especially if that person is of an age that a relative fought in WW2. James' test is simple for the psychic. She'd have to make a reading, and the people they read would have to select their reading.

That bullshit ‘reading’ for the first caller was also given, practically word for word, in another documentary on these fraudsters. ‘He had difficulty breathing before he died’. Hilarious.
"his death was very sudden and very quick. He was sick for a long time, the family knew he was sick, he knew he was sick, but his actual death came somewhat sudden" That basically covers 90% of scenarios. If they said he died suddenly, with no signs, she would probably say something like "ok. he knew he was sick and he did tell a family member. I don't know if that family member was you" etc, etc
Shayneby Shaynebi, there's a lot more than guess work in mentalism, the guess work is only about 1 of the 30 or so techniques. Good mentalists deserve their credit for diligent learning. In England they nearly always say they see an outside toilet for the 1950s and 60s. A lot of the houses had them. Then they say they see a lady scrubbing clothes on a washing board. Most did that because it was before washing machines. The gullible then say it must be their mum or nan. Doh.
When Rosemary responded to the caller from Iowa, I noticed that she seemed to be looking in several directions other than the one in which she claims that a teenage girl had appeared to her. If I saw an apparition I would stare at it closely rather than look in another direction which Rosemary seems to have done.
I once saw a figure that disappeared in front of me, but before it did it seemed to shimmer in several spaces, but not exactly visually. It’s difficult to explain but it was palpably there, as if another dimension briefly appeared. I was on the way to work when it happened, sober and in good health. Maybe that’s how it seems to her. Most mediums are frauds but I think there are many people who can see things. I don’t think it’s often very controllable.
Love how she keeps misrepresenting the test - "you'll surprise us with..." James keeps saying they would agree on the test parameters, would not surprise her with anything, would not make up new hoops to jump through as they went.
I am seeing someone standing just to my right. Appears to be a rather average build man. I can't say for sure who this person is. I don't quite know what the meaning of the message I am hearing. I'm getting the letter B. He keeps repeating the letter B. It could be initials of his name. Wait I can heat what he is saying more clearly. There seems to be others that are wanting to come through so it is hard to focus on this man standing just in front of me. But I distinctly hear him saying the letter B followed by another letter. Perhaps it is the initials of someone that has passed. He is shaking his head no as if telling me that it is not someone's initials. Now he is practically yelling the letter B and, oh I have it now, followed by the letter S. He is now yelling BS!
C Smith - I observe that psychics are protecting people from their own frailities ; weaknesses . If you realized another could telepathically "hear" your sublelest thoughts I can guarantee you would suffer a panic attack. So psychics are being sensitive and kind in adopting a necessary modus operandi of vaguity ; vagueness .

ONE TWO I've had people walk out of my magic show believing that I actually did something because I use mentalism. And I've even told them no it's completely a trick and had them not believe me. People have a desire to believe. It's quite unfortunate. And I'm just a hobbyist that plays around on weekends for fun.
In the case of the magic show, there is an agreement between the performer and the audience. Simply not the case with the psychics. It’s quite insidious...
Just give me one medium who can predict when a crises such as a bombing or hurricane is about to come through so millions of lives can be saved by the aid of these people.
It would be wonderful (we assume) if someone were privy to this kind of information....but everything does happen for a reason, most often reasons we don't know about, even tragic things. No one can explain the why's of the spirit world, but perhaps there is a reason we do not know beforehand about worldly crisis.
I guess the next time we hear about a child being abused either physically or sexually, we just need to all sit back and say,” It happened for a reason.” Gotcha!!!
why save milions, w e have too many people on this earth, death is a blessing not a curse!Bill Gates is planning to kill couple of thousands in Africa so who cares
Regarding the caller from Tulsa, Oklahoma: The only communication she received from the supposed deceased person or actual person appearing before her was about a leg injury. Again, the apparition did not bother to furnish any information as to his true identity for some unknown reason. Besides, everyone during some point in their lives will suffer some kind of leg injury. What's more, the caller simply related the leg injury to his great grandfather who died of a leg injury during the American civil war. What soldier didn't? The previous caller simply filled in the blanks by relating something associated with a house. For one thing, most people live in houses, and most people move and experience some problem with moving house. The caller simply looked for possibilities that would confirm what Rosemary had said.
Rosemary at 9:07: "I'm either a liar, a cheat and a charlatan. OR I'm crazy... or that I am the real thing." Ah. So if she can eliminate two of the three possibilities, then the third *must* be true. Right? However, she neglected to mention a fourth possibility: that she has no special powers at all but *believes* that her cold readings are, in fact, genuine (although deep down she knows they aren't). Therefore, she's not a true medium but believes that she is and is, then, not a liar, a cheat or crazy... but still has no special powers. She makes/allows herself to believe that she has special powers so, technically, she's not lying... to us. Maybe to herself.
Nah, I think she’s just skilled at cold reading. I think it’s obvious this is just a technique and she’s consciously doing it. It’s absolutely obvious to me. Take the first caller: by her voice you could tell she was probably a slim built white woman. Best guess is that her father was slim too. So she throws the slim man. Re height, she just said can’t tell if tall or not but quite tall but maybe not (which would have applied to all cases), and then she throws the “chest related illness “ which covers like 90% of the most common death causes (hearth attack would do, lungs will do, pretty much any cardiovascular or respiratory desease could be thrown in which are by far the most common death causes, etc). The two roses was the “KO” punch that, if worked like it did, wow... if not she would have said “he really planted too, one for you as well” or smtg to that effect. She would have missed only if the guy died in a car crash or smtg but those are like 2% of deaths. Note she didn’t specify, said “chest related”... so this ghost is able to tell her “chest related” but not “hearth attack”? This ghost can say “2 roses” but not his bloody name? The name would be actual great evidence that she was legit. So simple, just the name! How can people believe in her?
I just finished your book.. you own the power.. and I loved it. Thank you so much for sharing your stories! I saw a ghost as a child that I don’t really remember but was so frightened that I think that fear is the reason why I no longer have those experiences.
Aries 27 ..damn.. no doubt he's a believer..he had the "honor "to meet the guy that came up with the ESP thing...lol... she probably pulled that scam on Larry after the show....lol..(the worst part is...he probably fell for it for cryin' out loud!!!...lol)....Sorry they ganged up on ya Randi...you were outnumbered. But you did well as always. You have rationality and science on your side.
The Ultimate Reductionist ...yeah to THAT lady.....they could have long conversations after he's gone...lol.....you can tell Larry is eating this up..it's hilarious how much he believes it that stuff. AND YES LARRY..THE DEAD ARE DEAD.LOL..LOL..LOL..(and they don"t talk)
The first call was really textbook cold reading. She only gave the most vague and impersonal information at first, that can literally apply to anyone. He had "problems in his chest" and "with his breathing" which is like the MEDICAL DEFINITION of death for anyone who ever died. And then, the person on the other line volunteered a smorgasbord of information about her dad having a peacemaker, open heart surgery, that thing about rosebush. Except Rosemary never said anything about those things in the first place, never uttered the words peacemaker or rosebush in the initial "reading". The woman merely made the connection herself with the vague earlier statements. Then of course she can weave something about what types of roses.
Remember this is the same lady that had an elderly women rewrite her will, twice, leaving Rosemary $750,000 as well as failed to see her own bookkeeper from embezzling from her. As well as refusing on several occasions to read any skeptics stating that "She has nothing to prove".
Psychics don’t exist. It is incredible they say to talk to spirits; have long conversations but are not able to ever, ever communicate their name. More incredible is those who believe them.
Rosemary believes that each person's business is their own...If she didn't know undisclosed information about him on her own, she would never ask (and even if she did she probably wouldn't get an answer) the spirit world for "secrets" about someone else.
@@RosemaryAlteaSpiritualMedium He offered. He offered to take information that no one knew and write it down and put it in an envelope and let Larry hold onto it and open it after she asked the spirit world about the information that he wants her to retrieve. And of course she wouldn't get an answer: Because no one is coming through. She can't even get a person's *name*, much less any salient and specific information without probing with dozens of guesses until something lands enough to run with. The extent of her magic psychic ability is "Someone you knew at some point in your life knew someone who died of a condition that had to do with their chest." Well get me the nobel peace prize, that's a statement so specific it just absolutely *proves* psychic powers. Look, it sucks that people die, but we have to get over it. We have to deal with the grief. Pushing it aside and lying to yourself about this mystical afterlife just stunts your emotional growth and gives you a new hangup every time someone you know dies. And I'm sorry to put it so bluntly, but if I don't people like Rosemary here will continue to feed off of your emotional traumas. Grow. Up.
@@RosemaryAlteaSpiritualMedium "Each person's business is their own" Really? funny how you didn't stick to that when dragging up cancer and heart surgery. Yet, when Randi proposes to write down answers in an envelope before hand to see if the "spirits" tell you about some of his life, you pull out the confidentiality card. Laughable
Rosemary won’t take up the million dollar challenge because she’s seen all of the other fraudsters look like fools. She would only hurt her career by participating in James’ test.
The woman on the phone did give it away that there were multiple rose bushes! When she was saying the story she said "ROSEBUSHES", then the psychic interrupted and said it wasn't just one special rosebush it was 2 ROSEBUSHES. Which if you think about it makes perfect sense, she already knew the man was older, very thin, had a pacemaker, so probably was not in great physical shape, therefore hearing ROSEBUSHES, she knew it was multiple and it would make sense given the other facts it was only 2, not 4-5-6 rosebushes planted as that would be a tremendous amount of work for a man in that shape to do in a single planting session. lol SHES A FRAUD!
In fairness to the charlatan the caller actually said "he had just planted a rosebush from my mother...." then the medium said "you mention one rosebush, there are actually 2". Do you need a hearing-aid?
It's funny to hear these people say that they wont take the test because they don't need the money. Take the test and give the money to charity. Why does ANYONE believe these people can talk to the dead.
The irony of cold reading is that the more intelligent, eloquent and educated you are, the better you can do it, for example, when Randi and Derren Brown do it. In contrast the professionals are usually of average intelligence at best. What does that say about the victims? It says that they are not only vulnerable in an emotional sense. Education is the enemy of ALL forms of exploitation, that's why it ain't free anymore.
Most people are very gullible... She's doing obvious cold reading. Her eye movements are consistent with auditory construct, visual construct and internal dialogue movements. Btw, these are the very same movements associated with lying and coming up with a story. She does maintain a good poker face, though, lol. 16:55-Internal dialogue (she's building up her story), 17:06 -Auditory Construct (she's creating a narrative for the story), 17:13 -more internal dialogue, 17:14-more auditory construct, 17:18 -massive auditory constructs -this is particularly telling because she is relating visual imagery and her eyes are not engaging in the eye movements associated with the experiencing of visual imagery. She is engaging in purely auditory constructs. That is, she is concocting a story -she's telling a story about seeing an image -she is not seeing or visualizing any images. What a crock! She has had training in drama.... A very good actress... Shameless too, lol.....
I have no idea why she didn’t do the challenge! For such a genuine and likeable person, it’s s huge shock that she wouldn’t do it and be a million dollars richer!!! If anyone deserves to win the prize, she does!
The method he is using to prove that the psychic is fake is that others thought they were talking about them. The main reason why these people are there is because they want to talk to their love ones. They will grab to anything just to believe their loves made themselves know that day. That does not disprove the abilities of the Psychic.
Funny the way the 'spirits' are always on hand for these readers. what happens if the spirits are having a dump in the spirit toilet or on a road trip to spirit disneyland or just watching spirit sky tv and are too busy. this is just laughable bull but the sad part is they are praying on people when they are at their most vulnerable . its disgusting.

notice the house comment. She was moving. She was renovating. The roof was collapsed. this was not her mother but her brother. A dub that got two hits. She also said it was cancer but it wasn't a surprise then says it was sudden. Most males die of heart attacks compared to females. So it more likely she died of cancer. And what was she drawing? She said the mother was behind her right shoulder talking the said she saw her noding. The reading before most elderly men are slim. And she said rose bushes which would mean two or more. This lady has done this so long she could cold read a rock

mel obrien not magic....it’s all generic, and hit and miss. I believe it is exceptionally cruel to, like you wrote, feed off of others misery, and completely agree. People in the misery of grief desperately want to believe that they can hear from their loved one, one last time. She says she was given a gift....then if that’s true, why would she charge for sharing this gift? Emotional vampires!
26:10 "Being fine and then sudden death" Yes, this is normal. For anyone reading this and you don't know, if you have a loved one, and they seem to be dying and then suddenly seem to be amazingly better, spend time with them and talk to them, odds are they aren't doing much better

"my mind is perfectly open but I don't have a hole in my head" the perfect retort.
As a firefighter we had a fire inside a psychic’s business.. I thought, “how come she did know before the fire?”
why did larry have to ask if it was a mother or father on the last caller??? he just made th 50 percent chance a 100 percent by asking the question..and funny its while randi couldnt hear the call

@@AjejeB that's fair, it's the blanket "We have to assume the caller isn't a plant" I have an issue with.

Plus note she says “something about chest”, not hearth. With chest she covers hearth, lung, respiratory, etc i.e. the most common death causes.
"When he died, did he stop moving? I see an end to his movements. He says something about not moving."
Notice the dead never give their names or addresses.

There seems to be others that are wanting to come through so it is hard to focus on this man standing just in front of me. But I distinctly hear him saying the letter B followed by another letter. Perhaps it is the initials of someone that has passed. He is shaking his head no as if telling me that it is not someone's initials.
Exactly.. This is cold reading 101, where the person being "read" finds a way to make it fit.
James is very spot on with his assessment of this bull!
I just finished your book.. you own the power.. and I loved it. Thank you so much for sharing your stories! I saw a ghost as a child that I don’t really remember but was so frightened that I think that fear is the reason why I no longer have those experiences.

There was somebody in the background who was tall and received a leg wound and wore some kind of a uniform. Not very specific and not unusual either.
You literally just described my grandpa LOL
Hahaha, her face twitch in the very beginning after Larry King says: "Prove it!" 😅
Remember this is the same lady that had an elderly women rewrite her will, twice, leaving Rosemary $750,000 as well as failed to see her own bookkeeper from embezzling from her. As well as refusing on several occasions to read any skeptics stating that "She has nothing to prove".

Why won't she put him to the test and dispel his doubts, by telling him something undisclosed about him?
Rosemary believes that each person's business is their own...If she didn't know undisclosed information about him on her own, she would never ask (and even if she did she probably wouldn't get an answer) the spirit world for "secrets" about someone else.
Because she's a fraud... No other reason. He was happy to put forward this information in an envelope before hand.
The extent of her magic psychic ability is "Someone you knew at some point in your life knew someone who died of a condition that had to do with their chest."
Well get me the nobel peace prize, that's a statement so specific it just absolutely *proves* psychic powers.

Her facial expressions are very strange. She's willing to take a lie-detector test? Why hasn't she taken one already?
Do you need a hearing-aid?
she almost slipped up and used the "had trouble breathing, tall, slender build" twice and tried to correct herself
"My mind is perfectly open but I don't have a hole in my head"

Why are spirits always so vague, just one time I want a medium to say "Where's Sandra" "Hi Sandra I'm getting your Grandad Steven"

True, since she said she has been doing it for 20 yrs, she could believe her own lies.
Insults James when he questions her ability, lol......I can see my future, in fact I can see anyone’s future.....WE ALL GONNA DIE.....where’s my million, 😂😂😂😂😂
19:00 laughs in his face "NO, I'm not being patronizing!" can lie on the spot when camera shows otherwise.
Well noticed.
No matter how absurdly evil and predatatory the potential practice, if something can sell, you will find people depraved enough to sell it.
I hate that these fakes are invited onto these shows just for entertainment value. These fakes are all narcissistic and being invited on makes their egos and delusions grow. Give all the psychics polygraph exams..please do. This woman would never show up for it.
The TLC cable channel are guilty of giving these snake oil salesmen airtime.
Let's see, she said that somebody in the family (didn't say who) had cancer, also that she was sick and was in the hospital. Cancer is not all that rare, just about everyone has a relative who died of cancer. Also, people with cancer usually do get very sick and wind up in the hospital. She also said someone had a house that was renovated, not exactly an unusual situation but she also mentioned a roof collapsing and since that was non confirmed by the caller, I would say it was a miss.
With this video quality, I feel I am watching the dead
I'm a skeptic too, but I like Rosemary. I also have experienced unexplained happenings in my 72 years on earth and always keep an open mind. Science may explain many phenomenon in the future.
A near perfect combination: Skepticism with an open mind. - and the maturity and the ability to process them all together.
I love Randy idc idc 😂❤️❤️❤️
"I know that you understand, yes." The best moment :)
Rosemary! Give me some lotto numbers.
That always gets me. If that were real and I had it, first thing I would do is get in the lotto line at the 7-Eleven.
Haha. I dont think theres ever been a psychic lottery winner.
@@CkArtGirl7 I called out a flat Earth, urine drinking, breatharian about taking Randi up on his offer. His response, "as if I would pursue something like money"

...it’s funny how the ‘supernatural’ has such limitations, isn’t it? Vampires can be defeated by garlic, werewolves by silver bullets, and ghosts by specifics.
Makes ya wonder bout the average I.Q. of most folks doesn't it😀(Hold up..got a phone call from Marilyn...)😀
The way her eyes bugged out when the women on the phone said someone passed who was very close to her. Not saying a mother father or anything. And she even stuttering and back paddling saying not knowing who you wanting me to connect to lol
Haed core lying does make someone nervous. She is quite good in it but not good enough to trick all of us!
The first call was absolutely a plant. I had to pause the video and collect myself because it was so annoying.
Mickey Winters So you were so impressed with the reading you thought she was a plant, and somehow knew out of all the callers trying to get through to the studio on the shown number she would be picked out and be first,or are saying all the studio staff were in on it as well ?
I lived in Steubenville for awhile and while there is a park, no one in their right mind spends the day there. At least not as casually as the caller made it sound.
Sasha B. It was Larry King’s uncle
