Hey guys - if you love One Step Beyond by Madness check out the rest of my Hall Of Fame sax classics! th-cam.com/play/PLBRGEAheQrply395t4YiiCxWLeVSOf9NP.html
The fingering guide made this so much easier to learn. As I’m a complete noob & don’t read music, the instant gratification of being able to play a tune that I recognize, that came with the fast results from this video cannot be understated! Inspirational!
I'm loving the the graphics that show the fingering at the side of the screen.......it makes a lot more sense to me (being one that can't actually read music) a few others on here are doing the same on their videos now.....helps dummies like me to make much better progress.....nice one dude....keep up the good (really good) work....
Hello, i see your videos from france. I find you are a great saxophone player you can play what you want and it seems easy. I thank you for your videos which help me a lot. I'll buy you a coffee.
Great stuff - returning to learn the sax after a 25 year gap & wish simple, clear instructions & advice was around the first time I tried. Appreciate the tips & work you put into this, brilliant stuff. I'm sure I have lots of questions as I learn again, many thanks 🎷🎼🎷🎵🎷🎶
Nice one Dave! Time and again I hear about people coming back to the Sax after decades without playing so it must be a thing right now! Good luck and thanks for watching.
Thanks Jamie, I am learning it on my tenor sax, and trying to perfect the growl, using my Legere signature reed which is not easy. Its the middle bit I find tricky but I guess you learn the A and B section and impro for the middle bit.
This was fantastic! I've been teaching my 15 yo daughter to play guitar w me on bass. My youngest is learning sax & she was able to pick up the parts very quickly, we will be playing it together very soon! Would you consider a tutorial on Rudy Can't Fail by The Clash?
@@GetYourSaxTogether if at all possible, really do like your version, I have only been playing for about a year, and now have a lot of time on my hands lol, Thank you Art urban-tec@live.co.uk
Hi Jamie, I have some difficulties with the Section A3. At first glance, it seems similar to A1 and A2, but the "slight"variation is actually tricky ! Patrice
Yeh, it's just an "off the cuff" variation he plays really Patrice. It doesn't matter much. I'm sure he would play it a bit different live, as I would. Thanks for watching and let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. J:-)
@@GetYourSaxTogether You're right. That reminds me a funny anecdote about Eddy Floyd song "Knock On Wood". You know, I'm mostly singer before being saxophonist, and it was very difficult for me to sing the second verse, as Eddy sings the fourth and fifth bar in a delayed way when compared with the other verses. At these times we didn't have sheet musics like now on Internet. And all singers of Rhythm'n'Blues bands tried to imitate him, though it wasn't natural. That's only when I heard another version (Otis Redding) that I realised it was a mistake. A mistake which everybody strived to replicate, with difficulty, of course ! Very funny, indeed...
Hi Sam - I don't have any plans to do that right now, sorry! However, if you want to empower yourself and learn how to transcribe stuff yourself check out this series! th-cam.com/play/PLBRGEAheQrpl6ynufGYwYJgHrODOvSrKq.html Thanks for your support and let me know if there's anything else I can do for you. There’s horns but no sax solo so I wouldn’t cover it here I’m afraid.
Hi you didn’t link the video of how to sound growly like Lee Thompson. Where can I find it please
Oh. Just search my channel.
Many thanks 🙏
You're welcome 😊

Hi Jamie, really appreciate the help with learning the tenor sax.
Any chance of doing the same with Embarrassment? Brilliant tune.
Cheers,
Ian
Don’t have any plans to do that right now tbh, but if enough people ask I will!
Fantastic, any chance of the rest of the pdf for alto as in full item thanks
Do you mean you want the whole song written out for alto sax? J:-)

Could you show your hands playing
Do you mean in future videos? Obviously, I can't change the videos already up! lol J:-)
I dont know why but tonguing + growling at the same time is really hard for me.
Yeh, kinda is sometimes. It's actually impossible if you're doing a tongue roll growl! J:-)
