If you are worried about the first night ghouls as attack then best to use stone then use the low stone wall as a peeking/shooting place for ghouls (easy exp). Use the fire pit if possible/ it wont be destroyed quickly. Find a deer/elk and get the marrow to make bow. Bow is better then spear if its against ghouls.
I know what u mean with i sugest to take a Server with the top Player have good karma because everytime i play there is at least one guy most times the 1. on the leaderboard who goes around and kills people like me and after one+ hour playing the guy finds my base and kills me with a sotgun,AK or MP5. I hate that

Lapa bots for repairs, a couple low stone walls, or metal, spike traps, and guns, I like AK and shotgun
