Even the commentators saw that one coming... Sad to see things like this happen. Hopefully Glory changes their judging and only considers punches to the arms as blocked strikes but kicks as landed. Like Mauro said, damage is damage and you could see Robin's arm clearly took a beating. Hopefully we see some change or Glory is gonna lose some great fighters and a lot of fans.

Maybe for the roundhouse kicks, but the front kicks & knees kept landing at regular intervals. Even discounting that, Roosmalen was kept at distance & his offense rendered ineffectual by Sittichai. Roosmalen got schooled in this fight, no matter how you look at it. The decision was a travesty.

I will have to say that as a long time fight fan of all combat sports, I haven't seen a robbery this bad in a fight since Pernell Whitaker vs Julio Cesar Chavez, I feel strongly that Sittichai won the fight based on him landing the more accurate strikes and had better ring generalship, the crowd feel strongly that Sittichai won the fight, even the commentators feel strongly that Sittichai won the fight.
Rd 1: 10/9 Sittichai. Lots of nasty, fast round kicks. RVM had some good single kicks and punches but struggled to bring much offensively. Rd 2: 10/9 Sittichai. RVM is starting to react to those vicious low kicks, but isn't able to do much but cover up against the left handed assault from the Thai. Rd 3: Could go either way. RVM seems frustrated by the kicking game of Sittichai, and is answering with some heavy hands. The increased forward pressure has somewhat reduced Sittichai's kicking onslaught, but the Thai fighter responded to the pressure by using counter left kicks to keep RVM at bay. A closer 10/9, still Sittichai. Rd 4: 10/9 Sittichai again. RVM came forward aggressive again, and again Sittichai responded by forcing Van Roosmalen to run into stiff kicks, low straight kicks, and knees. RVM did manage to land good shots in 1s and 2s, but the bulk of the effective offense came by way of Sittichai. Rd 5: It's the Sittichai show! Catching much of Robin's offense of his gloves, Sittichai Sittsongpeenong continues blasting away at the body and guard of RVM, who answers with stiff but ineffectual blows to the guard of Sittichai. Towards the end of the round, the Thai fighter engages in some boxing as well, exchanging combinations on the hands with Van Roosmalen and largely getting the better of them. On to the judges for a decision. Aaaand an awful display of judging. Punches to the guard do next to nothing. Kicks to the guard can knock your gloves back into you hard enough to daze a fighter. Arms can and are broken by catching round kicks. I just.... wish that judges had to compete in the sport before being allowed to score it. Love the commentary though, at least they tell it exactly like it is.
What an absolute travesty of judging! Petrosyan vs Sittichai would've been an amazing matchup but this horrible judging will result in a match we've already seen and Petro getting back the belt.

God damn, I just can't believe what an embarrassment this is for Glory. The whole house was booing, the commentators were upset to the point of profanity, Sittichai looked shocked and heartbroken, and even RVR was pissed because he knew he lost that fight and started cussing out the fans who were booing him by the thousands. The comments section is filled with die-hard fans deriding this decision and denigrating Glory at a more than 90% ratio to those who agree with this ridiculous abomination. This is such a total black eye to major league kickboxing. Just an unbelievably incompetent decision that makes the sport look stupid and the promotion look inept at best and corrupt at worst.

Sitichai controlled the pace of the fight (but not the ring, which counts too) thanks to his much longer reach, but was a bit too passive imo, it probably costed him. Both fighters blocked basically everything from the other, except for RvR's low kicks which probably won him the match (as he himself said) in the eyes of the judges despite not inflicting that much damage apparently (and despite the dozens of kicks he "tanked" with his arms). Wouldn't have been surprised by a draw (not that the result would change, the champion keeps the title in case of a draw, but still...). All in all it kind of seems like RvR figured out how to outpoint the opponent rather than outmatch him. It may sound bad, but it's what defensive fighters like sitichai usually end up doing anyway, though in a completely opposite way. And we all know that, good or bad as may be, judges basically always favour the champion in case of doubt. I still keep getting surprised by the amount of hits RvR he can tank though (which he has to, given his very short reach.) Also, Valente really IS obsessed with preventing clinching. Sometimes fighters end up too close and are basically forced to defensive clinch...i mean, they can't elbow, they can't grapple, they can't throw, and they can't push either, what are they supposed to do? the first one to let go gets hit by the other so neither will obviously; they will often lack enough momentum, equilibrium and/or room to knee in those situations so it's obvious they're simply waiting for the referee to reset them, it's pointless to yell at them to work the clinch lol.

I scored this fight as a draw. Robin definitely won the first round. Sittichai won the 2nd. Rounds 3,4, and 5 could have went either way. This was an extremely close fight. A large portion of the fight Robin controlled the center of the ring. At the same time, Sittichai's counters were his biggest success in the fight. Also, it looked as though Robin was getting the better of Sittichai in the clinch. Robin was throwing a lot of hooks and uppercuts that caught Sittichai in the clinch. Sittichai's knees seemed to answer a lot of Robin's punches. The punching numbers for Sittichai were WAAYYY off though. I feel like the judges (whatever you call them) kept assuming that when Sittichai put his hand out to judge distance, they counted them as punches. Glory 31 will definitely be the deciding fight.
Imho, all Sittichai's middle kicks were blocked. He only scored some teeps and some low kicks. If you don't know the rules of judging a match you should just enjoy the show without judging the verdict.

I think that was no robbery. Of course the thai looked more agile and much more vivid in the ring. But judges count points. Much of Sittichai's kicks were blocked. Very tactical fight. Still RvR won by slight advantage.
How can someone say sittichai won? Really, see 17:44, 25:42 and 29:20. The count was in favor for Roosmalen, he clearly won the 1st, 3rd and 5th rounds, while sittichai won the 2nd and 4th rounds

I know the rules. it was a close fight but Sittichai wins he landed more body kicks and control the fight. all Robin did was punch but Sittichai blocked. poor decision. good fight though

i watched this so many times and i must say glory judges should be fired, must of got paid off or something smh.... sittichai should be champ.
I think that was no robbery. Of course the thai looked more agile and much more vivid in the ring. But judges count points. Much of Sittichai's kicks were blocked. Very tactical fight. Still RvR won by slight advantage.

How can someone say sittichai won? Really, see 17:44, 25:42 and 29:20. The count was in favor for Roosmalen, he clearly won the 1st, 3rd and 5th rounds, while sittichai won the 2nd and 4th rounds
I don't understand why its a robbery... the stats says it all.. you can't go against numbers, it's like saying 2+2=5. Doesn't make sense.
