The track that does NOT go into the building can be a “Storage” and a “Scale” track. Cars waybilled to the industry can go to the storage track first, then MTY’s from the storage track get spotted for loading. Cars that have been loaded get spotted for weighing. Cars on the scale get pulled and forwarded off layout. This way the local may show up with four cars, but the switch crew gets to switch 12-16 cars. The inter-plant switching is a “car loading-Multiplier”.
